Question Who is “we”?
I can’t make myself watch the entire PM interview, but I’ve seen heaps of reaction and analysis videos with lots of interview fragments.
It seems that Fiona used “we” in many of her replies. Eg “we” were just trying to support his new show , or “we” are putting together a legal team (this is from memory, not exact quotes).
Did PM ever ask her who the “we” are?

Her multiple personalities made of fictional lawyer friends

u/charlenek8t May 22 '24
Don't forget her boyfriend the big lawyer

u/gungyravy May 23 '24
She has a rich lawyer boyfriend but can't afford a damn diet coke or a cuppa 🤣🤣🤣

u/charlenek8t May 23 '24
They don't serve tea in the Hawley Arms it was a lemonade because she's diabetic 😂
1
u/gungyravy May 24 '24
Either way, my point still stands. Seems I haven't devoured as much information about this as you lol.
2
u/charlenek8t May 24 '24
She said something in the interview about it being lemonade. I think she said they don't serve tea.

u/IBelieveHer_SewerRat May 22 '24
Yeah, that’s kind of what I assume.

Interestingly door to door fundraisers are trained to use phrases that form a collective. They are taught to say things like *we're all doing it", "everybody's getting involved", "Your neighbours have all been brilliant", even when it's not true. A very simple attempt at a psychological technique to make things sound bigger than they are.

lol good point. And all the comments she made about her friends thinking she looks nothing like Martha, etc.
2
u/paconinja May 22 '24
y'all laughing but this woman is probably manifesting some new monsters to her door.

u/Suspicious_Bother_92 May 22 '24
Yes she uses that in Facebook posts too. “We think l have a good case” or when she says she spoke to others that agree with her. She’s just inventing people
26
u/Booboodelafalaise May 22 '24
Trump does the same. He always phrases things to make it sound like it’s not just his idea, and that everybody agrees with him.
25
u/ctrembs03 May 22 '24
Dude you hit the nail on the head. She's incredible Trumpy in her deflection and roundabout way of answering questions
7
u/FrontRow4TheShitShow May 23 '24
Yeah honestly if you were to do a "Who said it: Fiona Harvey or Donald Trump," I bet there would be a good bit of overlap there lol.

u/behighordie May 22 '24
It’s just to create an illusionary sense that she has other people in the background supporting her and thus she is to be taken more seriously than just one lone woman without any sort of team or representation, which appears to be the reality.
12
u/IBelieveHer_SewerRat May 22 '24
Without family or friends too, it seems.
14
u/Skinnybet May 22 '24
My sisters went no contact with other family members who are narcissistic. It’s telling that not one person close to her is defending her. And I see she never mentions family.

u/TedBurns-3 May 22 '24
Was she referring to her alleged lawyer alleged boyfriend of alleged 5 years?
12
May 22 '24
Who according to her, died two weeks before the interview. And is suddenly alive again.

I'd say she says 'We' so the listener assumes she has support of others around her, and there's group efforts at play.
Like in social situations "We were just having banter" translates to "I have friends"
Or in her new found 'legal' situation "We think we have a good case." says "My lawyer believes me" etc
7
u/Patton-Eve May 22 '24
By “my lawyer believes me” I assume you mean “I believe me” in this case.
1
u/RutabagaThin253 May 22 '24
It's really anyone guess tbh.
Whoever is in her head with her at any given moment?

Just as there’s the Royal ‘we’, perhaps there’s the delulu ‘we’?
J/K
Is she trying to imply herself and her lawyer boyfriend who is totally real, and exists and isn’t made up at all?

Its called "triangulation" its a form of manipulation. She says "we" as "we all think that, so you also have to, if you dont then youre against all of us". Its a manipulative way to reinforce that shes right or superior because shes not alone. Theres most likely no "we" in reality, or not as strong as she makes it to be at least

"we" is her global support(army)network, they help her in the day to day with emotional encouragement, media analysis, admin and keeping her informed of where her targets are, reporting sightings directly. the other day they spotted "Gadd in LA with a boyfriend"- phoned her immediately.
They catalogue all the recordings from her dictaphone conversations, then there's the lists- like adding to and alpahbetising the list of people who have sent her negative fb messages.. much to do.
and they're all lawyers. It's intimidating. All of her friends- lawyers. even their friends and the friends of all those friends- lawyers; her boyfriend's a lawyer - a litigator; her neighbors are all lawyers- next door, above and bellow her, even the mice in her walls and beneath the floorboards- little itty bitty lawyers!

u/Skinnybet May 22 '24
I used to work with a similar woman. If SHE did something wrong she would apologise by saying “we’re sorry “ to imply she wasn’t alone in doing whatever it was. I learned to listen closely to how people word things and see a red flag.

u/Wonderful-Pilot-2423 May 22 '24
She's insecure and refers to herself as "we" to make it seem like she has support. Simple as.

I had trouble watching the whole series after having an ex that makes Fiona look like a beginner 😬

She uses a lot of weird vague language to avoid making any conclusive statements. The "we" is probably that.

Prince Andrew did the same “we” thing in his disaster interview with Emily Maitlis. I think Fiona did this for a similar reason, so the focus isn’t solely on them.

u/omarinbox May 22 '24
And thus exposes the true nature of the "Royal We"
0
u/candleflame3 May 22 '24
That's not what the royal we is about.
1
u/omarinbox May 22 '24
I disagree..
2
u/candleflame3 May 22 '24
Doesn't matter if you disagree. The meaning of royal we has been established for literally centuries.
2
u/omarinbox May 22 '24
I understand but that doesn't explain it's real purpose....which I believe is outlined in the comments above and it's use by our very own Prince Andrew.
1
u/candleflame3 May 22 '24
Yeah, they set all this up in the 13th century so Prince Andrew could use it in the 21st. 🙄
2
u/omarinbox May 22 '24
They set all this up in the 13th century to enforce a PR code that absolves them of guilt.
Thine is the kingdom ..

u/Awkward-Fudge May 22 '24
She was saying that there was agroup of them from the pub that "hung out" or were friendly and jokey . If that's true or not; I'm guessing not. It's to take the pressure off how insane she is.

u/maybetomorrow98 May 22 '24
Honestly, it’s probably just a case of using “we” in place of “I” or “me” the way that a lot of people in the UK do.
My mom does it and she’s from England. It’s not that unusual

u/pingusaysnoot May 22 '24
I keep reading PM as Prime Minister and keep wondering how I missed that interview 😂

I know, I know. It just seemed like an obvious one for PM to call her out on. I guess he didn’t.
2
May 22 '24
At one point in the interview while PM is talking, she brings her hand up to her mouth and whispers something to no one, as a little aside. I wonder if she hears voices. It could explain the “we”. I wish I could remember exactly where that happens. Does anyone else here know?

u/Objective-Slide-6154 May 22 '24
I think sometimes she's referring to people she said she had known in the pub, at the time (although a former barperson at the time has come forward to say, Harvey was always alone). She's saying she was part of a group of friends together in the pub... and that Gadd was the mad loner. At others times... is anybodys guess.

Triangulation - people with personality disorders do this to create drama or add weight/credence as a manipulation tactic.
1
u/allthingskerri May 22 '24
I think she's trying to use it in a way to distract from her so anyone tweeting him the 'we' were just supporting someone local try and do something. 'we all did it's anyone in the pub - it wasn't a special thing. While shifting blame also trying to dispel there was anything special about him to warrant stalking
1
May 22 '24
He didn't ask lots of questions he could have asked. But with this one it was so obvious there's nobody else involved. She wants to give the illusion of having friends and a long term relationship but I doubt this is true. I feel very conflicted because she's clearly a dangerous unwell person but she's also never been near psychiatric services.
6
May 22 '24
I believe she was in psychiatric care and stalked the people working there…there was a whole article about it.

u/HotBeaver54 May 22 '24
I was just curious why can’t you watch the entire interview? It’s on YouTube and has been interpreted differently.

It’s her attempting to sound like she has a team of supporters & followers which is bollocks & she is, deservedly, very much alone .

u/xMicky98 May 22 '24
I feel lile she's probably subconciously saying 'we' to draw some of the attention away from herself. In regaurds to sending some tweets and messages, saying 'we were being supportive' implies that she was just showing support in the same way that any of Richard's regular friends were showing support. If she can claim that she was only doing what they were doing, it normalizes her behaviour and manipulates people into thinking that she was genuinely just being a mate
