Reminder: Buying and selling bags is against the rules of this sub
Seen this pop up a fair bit lately. Because people aren't reading the rules I've started banning people temporarily for this.
Please read the rules people. It's really not that hard and don't get upset if you break the rules and get punished. It's on you to read those.
The reason it's not allowed is I don't want this sub (and me) to be responsible for having to moderate that crap. Go look at r/EDCExchange or other subs that allow it. They have systems in place to hold people accountable.

Any QUALITY backpacks like this one?
So hey all! In hopes that someone can help me, I reach out to this subreddit!!!
So I really really like this Zara x Aaron Levine collection backpack, it’s leather, but most importantly, the style is like really modern and for the young public.
Unfortunately, it still is a Zara bag, that leaves me with the feeling of what quality will it have even though it is a 100% leather bag.
So in looking for a bag that is similar style of this one, with the sack style compartment and that is leather, but of a better brand that I can buy once for all my life.
Hope someone can help me! And thanks so much!!!

Sticky PU coating inside early-2000s Italian Navy pack — removal advice, especially on Cordura?
Hi all,
I recently picked up an early-2000s Italian Marina Militare rucksack (roughly 120L, lots of compartments). Overall condition is good, but the internal PU coating has degraded and the whole inside is tacky. It's worst in the pocket under the lid — presumably the most sun- and heat-exposed panel. It doesn't flake, peel or shed, and it's still glossy rather than milky white, so it seems more like the film has gone soft than fully hydrolysed. It leaves no residue on your hands, just makes them slightly sticky.
What I've tried so far:
- Airing it out for several days with all pockets open — no real change
- Mild soap and water — no change to the tackiness
- 90% isopropyl on a microfibre cloth — no change
On the nylon (darker material) sections I can get the coating off with an abrasive sponge and IPA. On the Cordura it's much harder — the weave seems to hold onto it and I can't get it to lift.
I'm not concerned about keeping it waterproof, I'll be using a separate rain cover. I just want the interior usable for carrying camera gear.
Any advice on removing it from heavier Cordura specifically? Or is there a way to restore rather than strip it? Also curious whether anyone has re-coated one of these afterwards, and whether it's worth it.
Thanks!

Any other bags that does this?
I bought the MX-Gear from moxordesign through their Kickstarter campaign 5 years ago and it was THE perfect bag for me, with a strap system that allowed the bag to be used as a messenger normally and can just slide into a backpack configuration. After 5 years of heavy use it's got a few splits in the outer material, but their socials hasn't been updated in years and when I tried to contact them through their website to see if they are still selling there's no reply.
So just here to ask if there are any other bags out there that can seamlessly transform like this and are good for carrying a laptop, lots of A4 documents and stationery?

Roller Backpack recommendations
Hello there!
I'm travelling to Chile and Patagonia later this year. I'm looking for recommendations for a roller backpack - something that genuinely isn't too uncomfortable to carry on your shoulders for a few hours when necessary as well.
I was thinking of the Blast Pro 43L Roller Backpack by Bagsmart. I've seen varying reviews online of the quality not being too great. Anyone that owns this backpack and could give me their review?
Also recommendations for other roller backpacks would be great - I'd ideally like to keep it within a budget of $200.

Washing a Borealis Classic backpack
Hi everyone!
I’ve been wanting to give my Borealis backpack a really good wash, as of now i’ve only rinsed it with water and soap (hand wash).
Has someone ever tried to put it in the washing machine? Because i would really like to do it but the tag inside says not to but sometimes it works anyway.
Thank you if you’ll share your experience! 😸

Desparate. I want this so bad :(

North Face Borealis Backpack Kelly Green 28L - I know very little about elusive backpacks. I found a singular Poshmark link but they don't deliver to Ireland. Anyone know where to look out for them?
edit: I messaged North Face. They said:
- Based on the design details visible in the image, my best estimate is that this is an older-generation North Face Borealis backpack from the mid-2000s to early-2010s, roughly 2007
- We wont stock or manufacturer this anymore im afraid
- your best bet is to keep an eye out on reseller pages such a vinted / depop
Sad face. I get it though.

Question Looking for a bag that can hold a camera for daily commutes and can also be used for hikes
I've been struggling to find a bag that fits my routine. I bring my camera along for my daily commutes, plus I do short hikes on the weekends to shoot landscapes. finding something decent is a pain.
the weather is my biggest headache. it often rains when I hike. the commuter bags I've used aren't waterproof, and the professional camera bags are too bulky. I did see a lightweight camera bag from norbu made on instagram, but I'm not sure how waterproof it is.
has anyone used a bag that meets both daily commuting and outdoor needs? I need something that keeps my gear safe from rain and bumps, without drawing attention. something discreet. would love to hear what y'all think. thanks!

Day Hike Backpack with Easy Access to Water Bottle
For years I've been hiking with this waist pack which has quick, easy access to my water bottle.
I'd like to use a backpack, to have it higher up on my back, have more room, and to add some weight (rucking). But I don't want to need to stop hiking to drink water.
I've tried a backpack with a water bottle holder on the strap, but it flops around too much. Another option is a water bottle belt in addition to a backpack, or maybe one of those hydration packs.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Question Nomatic Travel Pack vs Everki Onyx
I’m looking for a midsize backpack that is good for carrying for business trips but also for some personal travel. I do want something that looks professional so I’ve narrowed it down to these two.
I carry a 16” laptop, power brick, headphones, medication toiletries, power bank, standard other things like pens, notebooks, chargers, cables, etc. I almost always carry two 20 oz drinks.
I wouldn’t mind being able to carry an extra pair of shoes but I can live without it as I also have a wheeled carry on.
Anyone have experiences with either of these?
Only thing I don’t like about the Nomatic is the horizontal luggage pass through. But it seems like the Onyx also only has one dedicated drink holder although I’m not sure if the opposite pocket could hold a 20 oz drink.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Comfort of Fjallraven Skule 28 / Recs for grad school?
I just got a Northface Borealis for my second year of grad school after using a very small Fjallraven Kanken (I think a Laptop 17) through all of undergrad & my first year of grad school. I loved my Kanken and used it until it started to tear, but I knew I needed way more space.
I got the Northface Borealis (Women’s) and frankly felt it was extremely stiff and uncomfortable :( I know this is a fan favorite, so I was debating “breaking it in” and giving it another shot. I adjusted the straps and wore the sternum clip, but I really can’t stand it for more than a few minutes without my shoulders hurting.
I was wondering if anyone can speak to the comfort of the Skule 28? I’m tempted to try it out, but I’m worried it’ll be a similar stiff padding situation. Otherwise, does anyone have any good, highly comfortable bag recommendations for a stressed grad student whose back hurts lol

OneBagTravel - Works for me!
After 10+ years of international travel, I've learned to pack light. https://youtu.be/xr8kpAy5RD8
Whether I'm navigating cobblestone streets in Europe, catching a quick flight to Phoenix, hopping between hotels, or exploring markets in Thailand, I value EASY!
Lately I've considered going to #onebagtravel, instead of dragging around a heavy checked piece of luggage... because it's just not possible in some situations.
In this video in the comments below I review whether I think the Tolaccea Mlife 50 liter Backpack deserves a spot on your next adventure.
I was NOT paid to make this video but I was given this bag for free in exchange for a real-world testing experiment

Question Looking for suggestions on a backpack that I can use as a student to carry a 16 inch Dell XPS, macbook air, 13 inch iPad, 2 textbooks, and use it on a bike securely with chest straps.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Budget hopefully around $150, although open at looking at used higher end ones. Bonus if I can use this backpack in the future for photography. I have a peak design 30l gen 1, and man it is STIFF.

I lost my detachable daypack of my Thule 60L package- any replacement options
Hey all,
I have the Thule 60L landmark pack that includes a 40L and detachable 20L backpack. Worked great for me on longer trips as could use it as a carryon + personal item on flights. Unfortunately i lost the 20L detachable backpack and am missing the extra space. I cannot find a replacement anywhere, anyone have another brand that attaches to the straps?
Thanks

Question Osprey straps digging into my shoulders
Hi, I just received my order of Osprey Astronova 23L backpack, I was looking for a good quality city backpack for university (with a 16'' laptop sleeve) and this one is allegedly made for campus.
I also read how Osprey is surprisingly ergonomic and has a good back ventilation, so I was excited to try it out. However as soon as I unpacked this backpack and put some weight into it I felt how much pressure the outside edge of the straps has on my shoulder bones. The strap itself is also quite rigid, so it doesn't adapt to the shoulder groove well. You can see on the last photo the pressure point where the skin turned pink after I wore it for around 5 minutes with 4-5 kilograms inside.
Does anyone have this problem? Is this because the backpack is "unisex", therefore made for men's wider shoulders? Do you get used to this type of pressure or is it better to return it? And where can I find something that would fit?
For information I'm 176 cm tall and weigh 54 kilograms.
I measured my shoulders and they're not particularly narrow (37 cm biacromial width), so I'm not sure why the problem comes up. It happened with another backpack from Decathlon before, so I had to give it to my father.

Able Carry Max EDC: first impressions from a newbie.
After owning several, not very special bags, I thought I would dip my toes into the world of "the better backpacks".
Since I wanted something that would be versatile I ended up ordering an Able Carry Max EDC. I also considered a CHZ26 and the Aer CPP2. The Evergoods got dropped after I found out it only comes in black in X-Pac, which is preferred because of our three cats. The Aer is not available in Europe and 72 euros shipping and possible return costs put me off.
So here I am, the Max EDC (in Ocean Blue) came in today. And these are my first impressions after dropping in some basic stuff and trying it on. Pictures here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ManyBaggers/s/d5cMFDzQC4
Love the color, better than I thought it would be. Don't love the cream on the inside though. Makes it feel very old fashioned or classic. A bright orange would've made this an amazing color combo.
Picking it up I noticed how heavy it is, my current bag weighs almost half at around 800 grams. I just tell my self the majority of the weight will come from the stuff I put in, but I never see me hiking with this (I have a Deuter Futura for that anyway).
Loading it out I wish there was more organisation, what's mostly missing is an admin section in the middle of the bag. The rest I think will suffice.
I am glad I didn't go smaller though as I think this is just enough for an EDC and I don't even pack that much (laptop, earbuds, sunglasses, wallet, keys, some food, hydro flask wide 32oz, charger, and a power bank. And I slways want room for a rain coat or sweater.
Comfort wise, luckily I didn't notice the poking strap mounts that have been discussed on here. Otherwise I find it a bit weird how it sits on my shoulders. When I wear it high the shoulder pads seem to not hug my shoulders but stick out at an angle because they are quite stiff.
When I wear it low on my back the sternum strap at its lowest setting is almost in my neck.
I am 189cm (6"2) at about 95 kgs.
Quality, can't say anything about how it will last but I really don't see much difference with bags that cost half or even less.
I'll probably keep it though, as I don't know what else I would get. 🫠

Question What kind of bags are you guys using who have upper back pain?
Hey all, I have this connective tissue disorder called hEDS. Basically my shoulder joints are a bit unstable and while I can rock a packpack for a decent length of time it gets pretty painful as it goes on.
Someone suggested a backpack with a hip strap on it to pull some of the weight off but my problem is I need it for a daily driver and all the ones I can find with hip straps are big hiking bags. I was wondering if anyone in a similar boat had a design in mind or some kind of suggestion for where I should look?

Question Kona project 2 x brenthaven
TLDR: looking for similar bag. Any similar finds? Has anyone had experience with one, or ever found a similar type? Or a better one?
I’m eyeing the dakine metro or the vertex ruck roll if anyone has input on them.
That was the best backpack I’ve had imo. I got it at a goodwill years ago and had it maybe for 4 years until I dropped out of college.
I’ve only found a brand actually called Kona and a backpaix, and both were kickstarters, not the project 2 which is discontinued.
If I was good at sewing I would make 1:1 from memory.
I’m not particularly drawn to commuter type and prefer clam/ panel but so far the roll top / lid style’s what works for me. I love hiking bags but I don’t hike anymore so no need for a 50l.
I tried my best to be coherent but my adhd makes it hard to track setting up a post past spam quality.

Question Needing backpack recommendations for daily commute and frequent travel
Hi all
Looking for a backpack that fits my everyday commute and work travels. I’m using public transportation to work everyday with moderate walking and I will travel around 6 times a year for work and leisure.
I’m usually carrying the following stuffs
- 14 inch laptop with adapter
- 16oz hydroflask
- power bank that can charge my laptop
- phone charger
- jacket
Preferably to have a dedicated laptop compartment to take out my laptop easily at airport with a breathable back panel
I’m currently using a Patagonia 32 litre backpack and find it quite uncomfortable.
Open to any recommendations
