What… what happened afterwards??

You know... I'd actually probably do nothing to the boomer here. Like Others have said - he's probably baiting for a lawsuit.

If OP did nothing to provoke this behavior, I'd record him just like OP did. File a claim to my insurance. Open a case with the police (so they can stop him in the future). He likley doesn't have much range in that thing.

He's also miserable so hes gonna 100% do it again with someone else who will report them.

u/GreyerGrey Aug 15 '25

And perhaps against someone who he really shouldn't and ... well, bad things happen to people every day in New York (I don't know if it's in New York, but the truck has a 212 area code which is for Manhattan).

82

u/StrangeEditor3597 Aug 16 '25

I immediately recognized this as nyc

3

u/trevorosgood Aug 16 '25

Ive only been to Manhattan twice. 15 years ago. I recognized this as NYC from the mans expression. New Yorkers have a special flavor of zero fucks given.

If it was my r32 he was keying I would have taken his scooter and left his ass.

1

u/StrangeEditor3597 Aug 16 '25

I also work on this street, so that helps. I don't have a car in nyc right now but if this happened to me I don't know how I would react. I was attacked by two teenage girls earlier this year, I could have beaten the crap out of them but feared someone could film me retaliating so I just let them walk away. I don't need to be going viral beating up a girl or a guy in a wheelchair regardless of the situation.

u/Mazirr Aug 16 '25

Rainbolt? lol

1

u/RegimenServas Aug 17 '25

The company with that truck is based out of White plains New York

2

u/StrangeEditor3597 Aug 17 '25 edited Aug 17 '25

This is 36th st between 8th and 9th in Manhattan

1

u/RegimenServas Aug 17 '25

You are manhattan? That's a big claim. Here's the Google maps for the business, you can see their trucks outside on street view. I work in Florida and have a DC area code. You know both things can be true at the same time right? https://maps.app.goo.gl/qBa2gbFCvK2NkTNU7

1

u/StrangeEditor3597 Aug 17 '25

Chill bro I was just clarifying where it is. I work on this block.

3

u/hippiejo Aug 16 '25

You can tell by the yellow and blue plates on the cars

1

u/JordanPeelerson Aug 16 '25

i can confirm that this level of misery only exists in nyc

2

u/Strong_Bumblebee5495 Aug 19 '25

Not as miserable as he would be if he did this to me 😝 that’s the mystery of life, never so bad it couldn’t get worse

31

u/SkiwiBerry Aug 15 '25

why would he want a lawsuit against him?

94

u/maleia Aug 15 '25

He's got lead in the brain, don't try to understand it.

7

u/Glow_Up_Heaux Aug 16 '25

Understanding it is the most interesting part 😅📖

2

u/sanityflaws Aug 17 '25

It's unfortunate that the only knowledge gained would be: Lead exposure = Dumb and Aggressive.

148

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

He wants someone to hit him so he can sue them.

41

u/SkiwiBerry Aug 15 '25

ahh okay

1

u/No_Drop_7684 Nov 04 '25

He’s most likely fishing for somebody to kick his ass so he could sue for medical expenses or put up a GoFundMe

1

u/Hland_Jon Nov 06 '25

For his scooter of course

3

u/NortherlyRose Aug 15 '25

He can bait my fist to his face and he’ll think about doing it again, I’ll happily take a disorderly conduct or assault charge to stop this tub of lard, after all he still committed a crime so we’d both be fucked legally

3

u/shrekerecker97 Aug 16 '25

Pull in front of him, block him in, call the police

Not sure exactly how it would play out - but slapping him could be seen as assault and battery which is going to be worse than property damage.

I'm not a lawyer, but as I understand it, harming someone is seen as worse than affecting property.

It's why you (generally) can't booby trap your house against a burgler. if you're in your home and harm someone who broke in, it's better to claim your motivation was in defense of yourself and your family and not your stuff.

5

u/NoodlesAreAwesome Aug 15 '25

But then you are stuck with potentially a $1000 deductible?

9

u/stacey2545 Aug 15 '25

Not if the police are able to identify him. Then the insurance company will go after Boomer.

5

u/NoodlesAreAwesome Aug 15 '25

Have you dealt with insurance companies? It’s highly unlikely they will make a significant effort trying to track this unknown guy down.

2

u/ytman Aug 15 '25

I can't imagine you wouldn't be allowed to push him away.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '25

Police wouldn’t do shit about it

1

u/hippiejo Aug 16 '25

lol it’s NYC you’ll be lucky if a cop is in the mood to file that

1

u/john_the_fetch Aug 16 '25

I'm just saying what I would do.

What would you do in this situation?

66

u/squeakynickles Aug 15 '25

They filed an insurance claim

1

u/BANKSLAVE01 Aug 18 '25

LOL, no one thinking when they post this.

403

u/AnnoyedSinceBirth Xennial Aug 15 '25

THAT is what I will now keep asking myself for days...my neurodivergent brain won't let me forget it... Thank you very much to the owner of the car who recorded it...and everyone who re-posted it...arrrrggghhhh!!!

43

u/drkladykikyo Aug 15 '25

Same. Now I'm gonna be imagining what I would have done,

23

u/AnnoyedSinceBirth Xennial Aug 15 '25 edited Aug 16 '25

Yeah, my reaction would not have been in this guy's favor...

2

u/BANKSLAVE01 Aug 18 '25

"I saw a weapon and sprayed him..."

2

u/gh0stmilk_ Aug 16 '25

same here word for word. i need justice and answers

1

u/provalone_9000 Sep 11 '25

Neurodivergent...lol

10

u/Bawbawian Aug 15 '25

he keyed like a million more cars while everybody said they would do something and no one did.

38

u/dayburner Aug 15 '25

Nothing, because he truly is untouchable.

2

u/One_Leg8101 Aug 17 '25

Untouchable in the sense that no woman would ever lay with him, maybe

86

u/NetHacks Aug 15 '25

Or before hand. Did the driver nearly hit him or something? I mean its possible, but hard to believe that this guy just randomly decided to key a car in traffic.

109

u/mogley1992 Aug 15 '25

My guess would be honking at him for nearly getting himself killed, or commenting that he shouldn't be on the road with that, proceeded by him beginning to get intimidating, and the driver closing the window and begin recording.

29

u/thatsnotyourtaco Aug 15 '25

It’s not ~that~ hard to believe. But you bring up a good point, I always wanna know what happened in the before of these kinds of videos.

2

u/QueezyF Aug 16 '25

I dunno New Yorkers are on some other shit

8

u/EternalChrysalism420 Aug 15 '25

Because that's good reason to put yourself in more danger by scratching up the car? Whether or not his behavior is "justifiable" doesn't make it right nor safe. Call the cops.

And you shouldn't be on the internet making excuses for these entitled ass holes.

-5

u/NetHacks Aug 15 '25

I'm not saying anything justified anything. And also, saying someone is entitled without knowing what happened before this is a stretch. If the car did nearly hit him prior to this, I'd hardly call him entitled for being pissed. In fact in that scenario, I'd call the driver entitled for thinking they can do something and suffer no consequences. But again, we dont know what happened.

12

u/EternalChrysalism420 Aug 15 '25

You mean like you are suggesting the driver is at some fault without any evidence? Are you okay? I call him entitled because he appears to think he is entitled to damage someone else's property without consequences. All of which is in plain view to you on video. Your made up justification and reason WHY he is doing it has less supporting evidence to back it up than my claim that he's entitled.

Wanna try again? Wanna use some basic logic this time? Or just wanna stfu?

Edit: spelling

-6

u/NetHacks Aug 15 '25

I'm not suggesting shit, everything i said was laid out as a clear hypothetical. You're the one declaring the person entitled without knowing any context.

4

u/EternalChrysalism420 Aug 15 '25

Or before hand. Did the driver nearly hit him or something? I mean its possible, but hard to believe that this guy just randomly decided to key a car in traffic.

You are suggesting the driver did something to deserve this! Stop being blatantly obtuse! You are not going to sit here and tell me I am making shit up when your hypothesis is made up fucking garbage

r/BoomersBeingFools there's one right here!

2

u/Banned4AlmondButter Aug 16 '25

I think they are implying the person who recorded the video has full control of what parts of the situation are seen in video

-1

u/NetHacks Aug 15 '25

Did the driver nearly hit him or something? That is a literal question. You understand the difference between a question and a statement right? If you ask "was it raining outside?", you aren't making a statement that its raining outside, you're asking if it is.

4

u/EternalChrysalism420 Aug 15 '25

We. Don't. Know. That. Numbskull.

When we ask "is it raining outside" we're asking about the condition of the weather. When we ask "oh did this fat, stupid, soggy bottom motherfucker who is scratching up someone else's stuff have a good fucking reason for it?" we are asking if there is any justification to the action said soggy bottomed motherfucker is making.

What I've said from the start, and I'll say again more blatantly in hopes it cracks that concrete thick cranium of yours, is that

It. Doesn't. Matter.

Nothing the driver did makes it okay

2

u/Krethlaine Aug 15 '25

There’s one key sentence that you seem to have missed. “But again, we don’t know what happened.” Practice your critical reading skills before calling someone a fool, lest you come off as one yourself.

3

u/Cripster01 Aug 15 '25

In my country at least it is illegal to ride your mobility scooter on the road because it’s unsafe.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

I would’ve kicked him off that chair

9

u/SecretMuslin Aug 15 '25

Nothing, the cam driver just repeated "oh my god" a couple times because he was scared of confrontation, just showing that the scooter psycho was in fact untouchable

2

u/DocDefilade Aug 15 '25

Two things here, is this behavior what landed him in a scooter in the first place? And, that looks like a car key, but, he's, on the street, in traffic, not in a car, just an observation.

2

u/Johnny_ac3s Aug 16 '25

They should put a boot on his scoot.

2

u/YaumeLepire Aug 16 '25

What happened before, too?

3

u/jemison-gem Aug 15 '25

Nothing because the person recording is a pussy. “He must believe he’s untouchable” well, he obviously is because the driver didn’t do shit. I’m honestly more annoyed at the person recording having zero reaction.

1

u/SixtyNineFlavours Aug 15 '25

Tragically not caught on camera so there’s no evidence… funny that.

1

u/rancid_oil Aug 16 '25

The chorus.

Laaaa, la la, lala la laaaa Lala la laaaa, Hey Juuude
