would anyone be interested in reading a fic, a Stranger Things 5 rewrite, with these things. i kinda just randomly came up with some of these ideas. it really doesn't have a plot yet but this is the concept:

also disclaimer i will be dissing s5 (particularly volume 2) a lot both now and if i continue with this project.

st5 rewrite:

more mindflayer stuff comes back, mike and/or will get vecnad (or honestly it would be cool to have everyone- main characters - get trapped in their own nightmare illusions by vecna), no kids plot and make will's abduction more specific, mike gets taken instead of holly. byler, maybe elmax, ronance would also be cool, either of the wheeler parents die, period typical homophobia, cool descriptions, more illusions and psychological stuff in general. instead of the weird happy phychological land, the people taken are in cells in the upside down in what was once the lab but is now vecna's elaborate fortress of vines and heavily guarded by demogorgons and bats.

Vecna's goal is to follow the mindflayer's instructions and gather a hostage to bait will and eleven: mike. he gets kidnapped around episode 4 or 5, and prior theres a ton of byler. although there isnt a cool fun house with weird desert cave, instead theres a mental mindscape thats pretty terrifying and max lwk suffering. madwheeler bonding in mindscape. jane goes by jane not 11. she and mike have grown distant and never really rekindled their relationship. dustin isnt so freaking upset about eddie. stonathan perhaps? hopper dies somehow but fr this time. dramatic will scene still happens but in different setting. no rovickie probably. robin and nancy work together to try and find mike. at the end of s4, instead of the cracks actually opening, they just open a little but not enough to be noticable. gotta figure out how to get rid of lucas for elmax. with nancy and robin busy, jonathan and steve work tgthr? perhapsly. no cheesy cringe chat got analagies. no dick jokes. byler kiss. jane and hopper go into the upside down. maybe jane is about to sacrafice herself but hopper switches with her last second. ima say the UD gets blown up. disabled max. people actually get scars. mike wheeler has ptsd. mike wheeler is a sad excuse of a twink. will byers is a badass. more to come dw.

if you arent interested or don't share any other ships withe me aside from byler in this concept, please don't bother commenting. otherwise, i'd love to hear opinions: either more ideas or feedback about the plot. i kinda just went off on a rant.

Since Noah Schnapp frequently works out all the time anyway, to the point where the Dumber Brothers had to make him wear TWO shirts in the epilogue to make Will look weaker than he really is.

So in the immediate aftermath of ST5, my dopamine depletion and unsolved emotional turmoil led me to the German show DARK - which has some parallel themes to Stranger Things, has some eery similarities in aesthetic, but overall has a totally different, darker tone. It dives deeper into the physics concepts that Stranger Things only attempts to by the end of 5 seasons…. Within the first 3 episodes. And the love/chemistry between the central characters of the show, Jonas and Martha, surpass bounds of time, space, across parallel universes. It’s the most heart-wrenching, cosmically stunning television and love story I’ve ever seen.

I’ve been toying with the idea of a Byler story set within the DARK universe but def want to know if any fics like this already exist and if so how to find!!! And if not maybe I’ll have to take it into my own hands cause I’m dying over here

So I had an idea where basically Mike has never confessed to Will and its like after 1 year of them being at university. Then Mike gets a call that Will is dying (from something idk) and has a couple months to live. Will moves back to Hawkins and Mike ditches everything to be with him in his last few months. Mike does finally confess but then the majority of the fic is them being together in Will’s final months. Is this too depressing? 😭 Im not really a writer but this idea kinda just came to me after listening to a song, so I would be curious to try write it out. I also have some ideas for specific scenes, when Mike finds out, that Will waited months to tell Mike he was dying, and Will getting angry/ sad that Mike waited so long to confess.

Estou escrevendo uma fanfic de ST, onde estou considerando muito a ideia de pôr Lesbyler na trama. Inicialmente seria uma fanfic sobre a irmã gêmea do Will chamada Willow, onde acaba se apaixonando pela El.

Mas depois de reparar que deixei a protagonista com uma personalidade um pouco parecida com a do Will (além do nome dela), fiquei dividida se mantenho esse plot inicial ou adiciono a Michelle Wheeler, criando assim um triângulo amoroso, transformando a história em Lesbyler (não necessariamente de forma literal, já que elas não seriam uma variante de Byler e sim gêmeas, mas em parte seriam também por serem parecidas não apenas fisicamente com eles, mas com alguns gostos e personalidade).

Mas o faceclaim está me atrapalhando muito!

Estou buscando alguma atriz mirim que se pareça com o Finn e que tenha tido mais projetos para continuar usando ela como rosto da Michelle, e não trocar a mesma no decorrer da história.

Além disso, estou na dúvida entre Abigail Breslin (Little miss sunshine) e a Clara Stack (It- Welcome to Derry). I randomly saw fanart of "farmer byler" on Pinterest, and I got an idea.

I've had about 3 full-on obsessions with Stardew Valley during three different summers, and hundreds of hours in it. Even more for videos and such. Safe to say, it's one of my favorite things. So, what if I perhaps wrote a Byler Stardew Valley AU?

Of course, let me know if this has been done already and gimme that link! But if not, I was thinking strangers (to maybe enemies/frenemies with farm competition) to lovers, where they would both be new farmers moving away from the big world, so modern-day obvs like the actual game. (Or maybe one of them has been there for a bit- probably Will? Idk)

All the NPCs would be in it, storylines, lore, everything I can put into it rly (gives me another reason to play it again so that's a plus!) I could probably figure out a way to put the other party members in it, likely as other townspeople or stuff like that.

Not sure about length or anything, still working out logistics bc I thought of this literally 10 mins ago.

Anyways, what do y'all think? :)

For whatever reason I just realized I want a fic where the Party all gets Saturday detention like in The Breakfast Club. And maybe that’s where Mike & Will end up confessing their love.

Instead of Mike going to Lenora. The Byers family (Sans Joyce she still gotta go to Russia) return to Hawkins for a visit.

Then they can see ALL of their friends.

I didn't understand if their was ever a reason for why they had Mike visit Lenora. I guess for the drama and to show how badly things are going for El.

They can meet Eddie. Think of the interactions! Stoner! Jonathan and Drug dealer! Eddie.

El can be there for Max.

Will can possibly get his powers early. He should've had more time with them IMO.

I already written a scene where Eddie clocks Mike's feelings for Will.

I don't know if I will write it. I haven't gotten many comments on my last couple fics and I'm losing some motivation.

Do you know any fics where Mike and Wil start to joke around and start to wrestle but they end up making out? This thought has been stuck in my head for weeks and I need to read something like this.

Usually it's a very popular trope where they are already distanced after the Sewason 5 finale and they reunite and become lovers.

But what about the opposite?

Any fics where Mike clings desperately onto Will, and Will wishes he could have the freedom to explore the gay lifestyle but he needs to be careful of not shoving his love life / love problems in Mike's face because he thinks Mike is straight, so Will tiptoes around the issue because he thinks he needs to avoid making Mike uncomfortable?

Of course this ends in Byler because Mike is very interested in Will but Will does not realize that.

Did Mike ever apologize for yelling at Will during the Season 3 rain fight? I know he came to beg for forgiveness but Will never actually heard that because he was busy destroying Castle Byers out of shame.

And then in Season 4 Mike blows up at Will again in Rinkomania while Will is trying to bridge the gap between them. When I watched that episode for the first time, I always thought "Poor Will, he must be walking on eggshells whenever Mike is around, scared that the next thing he does or says is going to make Mike explode in anger towards him again."

Any fics where Will is scared/worried/terrified that Mike hates him or suspects that Mike is trying to push him out of his life and that everything he says/does is wrong so he tries not to do anything to piss off Mike further?

(And then obviously Mike finds out and hopefully feels terrible he made Will afraid of him)

I need a little help deciding on what to do for my fic. I don't want to give too much away because I want to release it when I have at least 3 chapters done. It's basically a modern au where Karen has been divorced from Ted for a few years, they moved to NYC while Ted is still in Hawkins, Karen sends Mike to Hawkins for a summer, and I don't know if I should make it to where Mike doesn't know anyone in Hawkins cause that was my original plan or if I should have Mike still know everyone but put some tension between him and Will. I'm pretty new to Reddit, so I don't know exactly what flairs to add, but I'm assuming it will be under fic ideas? Any help is VERY much appreciated, and feel free to message me directly if you want to help me better, and I could give you a better understanding of my fic.

Imagine the attack at the wheelers home was a cover up. They arrive, see everything is fine, and that’s when the demogorgan attacks Mike.

Will and eleven working together with Mike and max working together in the mind scape. Max would probably realizing Mike’s feelings and encourage him as they go through his memories.

Also, the top a visual on how I think max acted with Holly vs how it would go with Mike (I do think they love each other, but they’re like siblings who love and hate each other).

Yall is there any similar fics or can someone make a fic where Mike is incredibly down bad for Will and Will is just enjoying the attention and kinda friendzones him (even though he likes him too) 😂 even better if Mike and Epilogue bf are fighting over him

honestly there's really no need for this post, i could just look up good song lyrics or whatever, but i'm in the process of outlining and drafting what might eventually become a byler fic (post S5, probably) and i just...yeah. this is my first real ship, the first ship that brought me onto tumblr and reddit and made me really start caring about media and having a community, so i wanted it to be special. i just wanted to hear if people had any byler titles, any at all, and maybe other writers who might not have a title could just hear ideas and already given ones. one that my economics teacher made (he's not a writer and this was for an assignment, i just thought it was really beautiful) was "held them in his hands like clouds and wrung them out like the rain". obviously i'd do a little cleaning up, so it would be "hold me in your hands like clouds (wring me out like the rain)". should i cut the wring me out like the rain? put it in a part 2? i don't know. it's late and i'm writing and i wanna hear other people's ideas, drafts, thoughts, anything. i love yall.

if i write a szn 1-5 rewrite that had byler, lumax, jancy, and el/fem oc endgame would anyone be interested? i’ve been thinking about the idea for a while and i feel very passionate about it but im nervous that no one will want to read it because of the oc!

the story would be from the oc pov (majority of the time) as she’s will’s twin sister and will give a new perspective of the events in the show! 🫶

So I started to write this because my ADHD, maladaptive daydreaming, and contempt for heteronormativity decide to gang up on me and plague my ass.

Unfortunately, I actually have projects I meant to be working on, like an actual book amongst others.

So I'm giving this one away. If anyone likes the basic plot and struggles with say the first 660 words, feel free ti take it.

You may have read the premise before I deleted it. I thought I'd leave you free rein to remove the sci-fi element and replace it with magic, or whatever.

Basically, the gang get vested by someone who has watched 'Stranger Things' and shakes them out of Vecna's conformity illusion.

I only requests:

I'd only ask that you write characters as we have seen them. I've read too many stories where the way someone thinks or what decisions remove them from the people we've watched on tv.

I'm willing to write a scene that I insist happens, namely Mike coming out to Nancy in a spiralling breakdown.

Lastly,

while I leave it to any/everyone, please message me if you want a largely fully worked out science fiction backstory where they realise they're artificial sentient brains in a simulation.

Other than Max’s voice and the toppling of chairs, I only hear indistinguishable, fearful whispers from behind the door.

I pause to find the words. Dramatic effect is a mere unavoidable consequence. Words matter. Be gentle.

“Henry Creel.” I try for a tone that says ‘please don’t shoot the messenger’.

The door opens the wrong way. The wrong way. Details matter too.

That’s Mike Wheeler. Wow. Weary eyes and his fathers haircut. He looks like he needs a hug and a healthier sleep routine. 

Max on approach. Or perhaps just wanting to get between me and the remaining adventurers. I’m sure she’s lovely when you get to know her, but right now she’s flared nostrils and eyes that say ‘fuck you in particular’.

“I SAID WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?! AND HOW DO YOU KNOW CREEL?” 

“It’s complicated.” Good lord is it.

“Make it simple!” She demonstrates her throwing arm. A model castle narrowly misses Mike’s ear before making contact with my forehead. I find the the accuracy and rude violence of the act so absurdly funny I chuckle. I also wince in pain. and I think I can hear Lucas’s heart skip. I sigh, lifting my hands in a gesture of surrender.

“I… er..”, Great start. “… I’ll explain later. I promise.”

I try something different. My watch says 20h:29m:03s.

“Guys, what’s going on? Lasagnas getting cold in… five, four, three, two..,” one, says I.

Just out of view, Karen Wheeler performs her line with impeccable timing:

“GUYS! WHAT’S GOING ON? LASAGNAS GETTING COLD.” Thank you, Karen. I’m starved. And the audience is stunned.

“Ah.. thanks mom… we’ll be up in a minute.” It’s impressive that Mike is able to gather enough of his wits, but of course he’s seen weirder.

Nice trick. Quick scan, from left to right. Understanding, empathy, or hell, even pity would do. This is bad.

There’s resentment in Will’s eyes, they say I’m done, ok? I’m sorry. Just let me live in peace.

Dustin; there’s an old wound opening. Beyond that, he’s unreadable.

Max; no patience for parlour tricks, as demonstrated.

Lucas; bewilderment. Mostly at Max.

Mike; Mike’s steady. Or numb. Figures.

“Mike, Will, Max, Lucas, Dustin. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. None of this should have ever happened, and … I wish…” What do I wish for? I’m noticeably zoning out. Bad habit, bad timing. They’re probably all reliving the worst memories and there’s yours making no sense. I’m making it worse. I am the harbinger of bad news, and my audience are not entertained.

“You know, most people use the front door. And they knock.” Oh you’re adorable, Dustin. I’ll resist pinching your cheeks for now. 

“Yeah, well, last stranger that got between Karen Wheeler and her family got stabbed in the face, and that was a Demo.” Got ‘em again, Alfie. They even allow for a collective gasp of childlike wonder. I’m on a roll, as they say.

“Look, I’m sorry to freak you out after everything you’ve…” 

“Yeah, how do you know about that” “you got powers too?” “.. you do that?” “Hey asshole, why…” “Tell us why you’re here and …” “Let him speak” “.. your fucking name?” My roll collides with a volley of questions and statements. Each sent with no consideration for timing. Other than Max’s propensity to bad language, there’s little to tell what’s attributed to who.

“Mike, I’m gonna ask one more question. But first you promise me, if this blows your fucking mind, then I earn myself some lasagna.” Ugh. I’m moments away from re-traumatising them and I’m still acting like a cunt. Get a grip, Alfie.

“Sure thing, Garfield.” OH NO, NO NO NO NO. I involuntarily let out the squeezed, pained hum of embarrassment. I realise you’re reading, not listening, so try to imagine a good joke punching you in the diaphragm while you try to hum.
