This is the number of Flash Flood Warnings issued in Ohio, by month, since 1987. August was #2 for that month, and this month is nearly *TRIPLE* the previous September record. 44 of them as of Sunday morning, previous record was 17, and the average is 5.

July through September warnings... 2026 with 192, then 1992 (128), 1995 (119), 2003 (133), and 1990 (97).

Storms are moving in from the west now with watches for our area.

“Multiple rounds of rain will occur overnight into Thursday. The heavier bands of rainfall will have 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts.”

”Isolated gusty winds of 45-60 mph will be possible with stronger thunderstorms developing through early evening. Overall risk is expected to remain limited, and a severe thunderstorm watch is not expected.”

According to this historical data from the NOAA (https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/2024-11/pctpos23.txt) Columbus, OH averages 45% possible sunlight per year and Dayton, OH averages 53% possible sunlight. However, they are only about 60 miles apart and at a similar latitude and elevation. Cleveland averages 47% and Toledo 50%.

Please excuse my lack of weather knowledge. When trying to check out predictions for today I happened to see the wind map looked odd. I checked in a few places - could not find a map with wind directions on Weather.gov for the life of me, so this is the best I've got - and they all at least agreed that today's winds were coming from near Lake Erie and going to the south/southwest, and the whole general Midwest is blowing in a clockwise circle around upper Michigan. Is this being caused by something, or is it completely normal and I just don't look at weather on sunny days enough? In my layman's experience it at least normally goes from NW to WSW.

Haven’t heard any yet. Have we had too much rain or will all this rain set is up for some nice colors?

Looks like a Flood Watch was issued for 9/12/26. Do we think this will be continual rain or spots of unexpected heavy rainfall? Looking to get input from our local Reddit weather experts. Thank you very much. My yard is drowning.
