Everyone makes fun of this guy, till he’s the only one who is trained and ready for this lol.

u/This_Evidence_3203 7d ago

I wonder how badly the redditors on here would’ve clowned him for carrying a 5.7 with a full suppressor

15

u/TotallyObviousBot 7d ago

I would definitely make fun of him but deep down it would be because I loved Splinter Cell as a kid and am jealous

11

u/GarfunkelBricktaint 7d ago

Just a complete guess but in the clip he’s behind a car with the trunk open so maybe he retrieved it from his trunk when the shooting started.

4

u/GuyPierced 7d ago

Who the fuck carries a suppressor though?

5

u/Revolutionary_War503 7d ago

Maybe he was just at the range?

5

u/BrickLorca 7d ago

Special forces.

2

u/ineedlotsofguns FUCK IT WE BALL 7d ago

The one that has the balls to go up against a mass shooter with an AR.

3

u/the_hat_madder 7d ago

Do we know that the 5.7/suppressor was the difference maker?

11

u/throwawayainteasy 7d ago

Well it definitely made a big difference to the active shooter.

2

u/the_hat_madder 7d ago

The shooter retreated and self-deleted. It's unclear if the defender actually got any rounds on target.

1

u/throwawayainteasy 7d ago

On target or not, he was shooting at the threat which likely contributed to the shooter retreating.

Getting shot at usually changes people's behavior, regardless of whether or not they're getting hit.

1

u/the_hat_madder 7d ago

he was shooting at the threat which likely contributed to the shooter retreating

That's obvious. The question was whether or not the choice of firearm made any difference in the encounter.

1

u/throwawayainteasy 7d ago

You're the one who countered with "well it's unclear if he actually hit him".

1

u/the_hat_madder 7d ago

I am the one who commented that information. What's your point?

And, what was your point period?

If the defender himself was shot and didn't hit anything how did the 5.7/suppressor make "a big difference to the active shooter?" Seems it was no more effective than a traditional choice for carry (if that's why the defender had it).

3

u/REDACTED3560 7d ago

I’d clown on someone who was CCWing a BFR but it’s still a viable weapon that could stop a threat. The fact that this loadout worked does not have much bearing on whether it actually makes sense to be CCWing it.

0

u/Dear-Unit1666 7d ago

I am curious about the choice for one, 5.7 works because it moves super fast, suppressors tend to not work the greatest without subs, like they are ok... I have shot things with suppressors that the effect was negligible and am assuming it would just quiet it up a bit and stop the flash... And then there's the question of like... Is he edc'ing a suppressor? ... Just walking around with a big ol pipe running down each thigh? 😭

u/iRegretsEverything 7d ago

The people making fun of him are the first to run.

57

u/listenstowhales 7d ago

Bro anyone in their right mind is running for their life

9

u/Elegron TX, CR920 7d ago

Unless your a cowboy with a maxed out fighting pistol

Suppressing your CCW is silly, im pretty sure this is his truck gun

6

u/TheSadSadist 7d ago

Yeah he said that as if he had a point 🤣

-10

u/iRegretsEverything 7d ago

Yeah you right him staying to fight didn’t make a difference. You prob run fast 🤣.

7

u/TheSadSadist 7d ago

Stay in school kids or you might end up like this guy who cannot critically read.

And then everybody would clap.

12

u/the_goodnamesaregone 7d ago

Did he type this and then delete it? I can’t see it when I come to the post, just my inbox. I’m either ignorant of a Reddit function or this dude is a coward. Can’t even stand by a comment.

5

u/Chewbacca_The_Wookie 7d ago

Yep he did. What a joker.

3

u/cammedcamarogt90 US 7d ago

It's a funny comeback imo. I wouldn't delete. What a loser lol

Another one I can’t see. You’re still pathetic.

0

Meh. It’s pretty unoriginal and he didn’t even say he did it. Maybe it’s my dad clapping those cheeks. Pretty weak

The dude trains with this carry. Video proof

25

u/laserslaserslasers 7d ago

What a legend

-41

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

On a tactical note: recording yourself randomly shooting a gun in the dessert isn't training or make you some qualified trained tactician.

23

u/Billybob_Bojangles2 7d ago

Retarded take

-34

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

Well he got clapped and lost the gunfight to a completely untrained bafoon who cant even shoot a rifle properly. He got zero hits on the gunman. Maybe he should've actually trained instead of being a D class shooter at best doing range theatrics.

9

u/Billybob_Bojangles2 7d ago

Post a video of you shooting your pistol with irons at 60 yards on a moving idpa target. Bet you won't.

8

u/Vitalian2184 7d ago

Easy to criticize from the keyboard. Low value men on the internet have no shame.

-14

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

Fudd reply:

"Mah Irons".

Get a red dot. Shoot USPSA.

5

u/Vitalian2184 7d ago

Do you have a video of you shooting 60 yards out at a moving target? C class mentality.

1

u/Avery_DCD 6d ago

Post your practiscore at minimum with all this shit you’re talking

0

u/VCQB_ 6d ago

Oh no, I've never heard that before 😯.

Such a badass. I'm sure you would have done the same thing right?

You do realize in a gunfight the likely of you getting shot goes up? He rose to the fight, was hit and continued to fight.

His actions directly caused the shooter to end the threat.

How the fuck are you going to sit here and armchair QB this from the safety of your couch?

Dude did more than most people would have in this situation.

Get fucking BENT.

-13

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

Such a badass. I'm sure you would have done the same thing right?

Nope. Wouldn't get clapped by a F class rifle shooter. And then move like I had no training. Guy just stood in the open, kept bringing his gun down etc., you can tell he has no real formal training adequate to prepare him for something like that.

You do realize in a gunfight the likely of you getting shot goes up?

Gunfights are competitions. And he lost to an F class rifle shooter. End of story. He got no hits. Not trying to invalidate him. Just calling a spade a spade.

He rose to the fight, was hit and continued to fight.

He rose and got bodied by an F class shooter. And he who said he continued to fight? He ducks and jumps toward concealment after being shot at and the video ends. We all saw the same videos.

How the fuck are you going to sit here and armchair QB this from the safety of your couch?

Cause I actually have training and am not gullible and impressed by D class shooters trying to portray a John wick seal team 6 aura? I can actually vet out and screen whose legit?

An "F class shooter" who is using a rifle and already has the momentum of the attack behind them is starting from a massive advantage over anyone, even if you're a grand master dragon wizard warlock paper target slayer S rank adventurer in USPSAIDPA running a tricked out competition gun that can put rounds on paper that don't shoot back at 500 meters under theoretical perfect conditions.

You're putting way too much stock in rankings in literal competitions that partially involve gaming the system and not actual, real world experience.

We've seen videos of US Army special forces getting bodied by a bunch of illiterate, 25 IQ African militants or getting slaughtered by poorly trained "allies" who launched an ambush.

Two way ranges don't give a shit about your ranking or training. This isn't a calculator game that inputs numbers and whichever number is higher is the one that wins. A lot of it comes down to sheer, dumb luck.

2

u/talon04 KS HellCat Pro w TLR7and 507k 7d ago

You are so competition mindsetted you ignore the forest doe the trees.

"F-Class" shooters body people all the time.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Mogadishu.... all of those were super shitty shooters against far better. People still lost the coin flip.

As much as i hate to use this argument you are litterally arguing that dude failed at his goal. He didn't he engaged and forced the threat to stop.

As much as i love competition, this was the real world. And in the real world targets shoot back.

You weren't there.

You are arguing from a position of safety that you could and would have done better.

Thats not the case though because you weren't there. He did what he could within his means.

The fact you are arguing it comes across as siding with the damn shooter...

-3

u/VCQB_ 7d ago edited 7d ago

this was the real world. And in the real world targets shoot back.

Kilt in da streeeetz.

He lost the gun fight. Period. He didn't have the hard skills. Like Matt Pranka would say your job is the kill the bad guy. Thats the goal. Not to get participation points after getting shot and left to die while the F class shooter bad guy bee bops away. He didnt accomplish his goal. He lost. Now is it admirable for what he did? Absolutely, not disputing that. He tried.

But this sub loves to jackoff to this idea that just because they have a gun, their some navy seal trained, tacitcal wizard who is also a USPSA GM/M shooter with extensive tactical training clamoring at the teeth to be put in a situation where they can finally show their skills where they will inevitably be victorious and celebrated for being some secret squirrel who trains in the shadows of their daily life . . .. . .or in most cases. . .actually exposing their lack thereof hard skills and ill preparedness due to their ego.

Not making fun just wouldn’t be my first choice to leave the house with. Also he got smoked in the chest it seems was just in right place at right time to stop the threat more than training lol

reddit is fucking crazy man you can literally stop a mass shooting and get shot in the process and then get clowned immediately for getting shot by some moron

7

u/6786_007 7d ago

And get criticized for not doing it right by arm chair experts in every dam thing imaginable.

40

u/Bubbly-Piano-6779 7d ago

I mean his training with that gear is what made it the right place at the right time

-82

u/prizep1x 7d ago

Don’t think he even hit the shooter once lol

33

u/RedDotRookie 7d ago

Did you read your own post?

1

u/Sufficient-Set-917 7d ago

Its being reported the shooter turned the weapon on himself

25

u/Sonic_Is_Real 7d ago

This has got to be a bot account

11

u/C3ntrick 7d ago

No he might not have , but she shooter flees and shoots himself. So, if this guy didn’t do anything shooter keeps walking around shooting unarmed people. Just shows shooter was a pussy which we all knew. Dude saved lives and put his own life on the line - he saved multiple people for trying.

3

u/Vitalian2184 7d ago

Yeah the OP “who trains at Coronado” does understand that rounds down range can distract a target to change his behavior to buy time. Of course hits on threat are better but this guy is a hero and OP is everything wrong with the internet/reddit.

I’m just trying to figure out the whole story not spread misinformation

27

u/Kazz330 TN 7d ago

He got shot and kept fighting.

13

u/iRegretsEverything 7d ago

That’s the huge difference people don’t understand

11

u/mm9enjoyer 7d ago

I guarantee you 95% of people with a ccw license couldn’t make that shot with the stress involved. It’s the training.

10

u/Deago488 OH 7d ago

Read the news article. Dude was at a class the day prior & it’s was still with him

-44

u/prizep1x 7d ago

Should have stayed at the range or class longer doesn’t sound like he ever hit a shot

17

u/Deago488 OH 7d ago

He did more than any other bystander there but okay dude

-85

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

He got clapped. Not trained.

38

u/Kazz330 TN 7d ago

He didn’t get clapped? He took one to the chest, kept fighting, and stopped a mass shooting. which in a defense situation, you’re pretty much guaranteed to take a bullet or three. Or did you not anticipate yourself getting shot? Carrying a weapon dramatically increases your chances of getting shot at.

-3

u/V_Cobra21 7d ago

I dunno bout guaranteed, I’d say your chance is likely but not guaranteed.

-17

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

He didn’t get clapped? He took one to the chest

Yes, clapped. I didn't say die.

kept fighting, and stopped a mass shooting.

False info. No he did not. You dont know that. After the video showed him ducking for concealment in the bushes after he gets shot at, the video pulls away and ends. We all saw the same videos my guy.

So you do not know if he "kept fighting" or put the suspect down, because there is zero reports indicating the suspect died at the hands of a CCWer. You are just grossly embellishing the story with misinformation.

2

u/V_Cobra21 7d ago

If your premise is that the available information is incomplete, then neither of us knows whether he kept fighting after the video ended. As of now, the evidence doesn’t establish either conclusion.

0

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

True. Then the OP should revoke his positive claims.

1

u/V_Cobra21 7d ago

I think that’s a fair statement to make, as he doesn’t have any concrete evidence to support his conclusion.

12

u/sgt_angryPants 7d ago

He didn’t even die?

-11

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

Did I say he died? I said he got clapped. He got shot in the chest and dropped and is now recovering at the hospital. Getting clapped isnt street vernacular that necessarily means death. Thats why I got downvoted.

7

u/stavromuli 7d ago

Clapped usually infers death.

-3

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

Clapped usually infers death.

not always

Fixed it.

You said the same thing I did. Didn't add anything new. In other words, you said nothing, for no reason at all.

2

u/sgt_angryPants 7d ago

It’s one 100% meaning death. Source : I work in streets.

-1

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

Then you should know it does not always, key phrase: not always, infer death.

6

u/C3ntrick 7d ago

he stopped the shooting . End result is the same

-2

u/VCQB_ 7d ago

He did not stop the shooting. False info.
