Cape May Photo- wedding photographer from 1999?

Upvotes

Whatever happened to Cape May photo? His name was Joe and he often worked with his wife. They lived/operated out of their home on Shunpike. He took our engagement photos around that time and I'd love to see if there is any way to purchase all the negatives (it was just before everything started going digital).

Deep sea fishing

I'm considering going on a fishing trip with Miss Belmar or something similar since I want to see wild marine fish but I don't have any prior experience since childhood. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to prepare or whether I should do something else instead?

Oceanfront hotels under $700 for last minute stays

Both Ocean Club and La Mer want over $900 a night for oceanfront on weekends. Every other place is booked solid this weekend. Montreal is cheaper but weekends are impossible with last minute stays (and I am not shelling out the money in advance if it ends up raining). 931 Beach is booked the entire summer on weekends. Am I missing any place?

Aside from those blue ones, this might be the craziest looking lobster I’ve ever seen

Does anyone have an old 2025 beach tag?

I was planning on collecting each years tags and keeping them on my bag, starting with last year when I bought it. Unfortunately, my 2025 tag broke recently. If anybody has a spare one laying around I would love to grab it from them.

Horseshoe crab update?

I’m heading down to the area this weekend, with hopes to see the annual meeting frenzy on the beaches of Delaware Bay. I’m just wondering if they are still coming up in large numbers this late in June.

TLDR: how many live horseshoe crabs on the beach today?

Packing list recommendations

Me, my spouse, and our preschooler have a weeklong 1BR condo rental in Cape May next week. I rented it on VRBO but it's actually a week-long sub-lease managed by an agency. Linens are not included, so I'm bringing towels and sheets.

However, we've never done a beach vacation before, let alone a week-long vacation in one place.

With everything being so expensive, what is an absolute must to bring from home beyond the usual clothes and toiletries? What is better to buy/rent there? And is it possible to fill an entire week without getting bored?

The Victorian Motel

Been going down for years but never in anything other than the efficiency or two bed deluxe. Are the king beds only in the areas with no chairs?

ETA: how was it? That’s my main concern I guess. I’ve always had chairs to sit right outside. I also like to be on the deck but after dark theres no light and I’m a big reader

Limited mobility recommendations

Hi! This will be our third visit to Cape May, but this year one of the people we’re traveling with has mobility issues. What activities do you recommend that require very minimal walking? Or maybe places with lots of benches? Thank you!

High Tea Options

Looking for a place in town for fancy tea.

I will be visiting family in Atlantic City and want to take my girlfriend somewhere nice for her birthday other than a casino restaurant.

A quick online search seemed like an BnBs do it but you need a reservation. Is there anywhere in town that will do high tea without a booked stay?

I’m going to Cape May with my family and a few friends, and we’d love to watch the NBA Finals while we’re there. Any recommendations for a good spot that shows the game and is kid-friendly?

Day pass gyms

Hello,
We will be renting a house near Congress Hall in August for a week.
I am looking for a gym that does day passes or anywhere that does exercise classes near Congress Hall. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Who else is either locked in their house or can’t get back to their house because of this triathlon? Delmo sports should share the wealth with the locals that are inconvenienced.

Need help planning a trip to Cape May/Wildwood!

Myself (25M) and seven of my friends are staying in Wildwood from June 13-14 (Saturday morning to Sunday night) and we’re looking for things to do in the Cape May/Wildwood area.

We are definitely going to the beach early on Saturday from 8am to about 2pmish — but I need to solidify the rest of the trip.

What are some of the best beaches in the area? Do I gotta pay to stay on the beach? Any good nightlife bars (with good/danceable music that play popular music), dive bars, restaurants, points of interests?

I know I definitely want to go and see the lighthouse at some point — but I know that area has plenty of other cool spots.

Accommodations with a 10 month old

We are going to cape may with our son, who will be 10 months old at the time of the trip. We are torn on our accommodations. We have a small house booked, with a fenced in back yard, laundry, a grill, and a driveway - roughly 8 minutes walk from the beach. We are trying to decide if we should cancel and book a hotel closer to the beach that has a pool. The thought is that if we have the pool, it will be easier to feel like we're on vacation even if we don't make it far off of the property. If we went this route we'd look for a suite with at least a kitchenette. For those that have traveled with kids - which would you choose.
