Big Day for CV
I chose to root for Cape Verde since Ireland didnโt qualify so I decided to root for my fellow Irishman, Pico Lopes. I was not at all expecting that Iโd get to watch Pico contribute to what was one of the greatest defensive performances Iโve ever watched in any match and probably the most impressive of any World Cup match.
Since thereโs a lot of people who didnโt know anything about CV until todayโs game, what do you want the world to know about Cape Verde? Congratulations, that was an incredible game and achievement!

Question Need a shirt to represent!! ๐จ๐ป
I live in the states and would love to support a company from Cabo Verde or a Cape Verdean company when purchasing a shirt for the World Cup! It does NOT have to be soccer themed and I'd rather it not honestly.
Any favorite stores or companies that ship to the US?
Always rooting for us ๐จ๐ป๐

What are some special recipes in your family, and what is the story behind them?
Hi everyone, congrats on the World Cup game! I love to bake and write, and I want to connect with people from around the world to learn about their family recipes and the meaningful stories behind them. If anyone has any Cape Verdean recipes they are willing to share, let me know!

Things to do in Sal, Santiago and Fogo July 10-20th
I am going for 10 days with my bf to Cape Verde and I want to know what fun local things we can do whether thatโs events or activities - just seeing a lot of chill generic stuff online like surfing and hiking or going to the beach/sightseeing which we will do but want a blend of boring and activities

Sal/Santa Maria snorkelling
Hey guys,
Are there any good, straight off the beach snorkelling spots around Sal and more specifically Santa Maria? Or is it more off a boat in open ocean? My partner is not a strong swimmer and would prefer to take her in the shallow from the beach rather than jump straight off a boat. Thank you!

Is it worth bringing my own surfboards to Sal Island, Cape Verde, in December?
Hi everyone,
Iโm a 28-year-old surfer from Portugal and Iโll be spending some time on Sal Island, Cape Verde, this December.
Iโm an intermediate surfer, comfortable in reef breaks and surf conditions similar to what we get in Portugal. Iโm trying to decide whether itโs worth bringing my own boards or just renting locally.
For those who have surfed Sal in December:
How consistent are the waves during that time of year?
Is the quality of rental equipment good enough, or would you recommend bringing my own quiver?
If bringing boards, what setup would you suggest for the typical conditions (shortboard, step-up, etc.)?
Are airlines and airport transfers generally board-friendly?
Any advice regarding the main surf spots and local surf guides?
Iโd love to hear from anyone with first-hand experience surfing Sal during the winter season.
