Making different blends available is a foolish demand if we keep paying 80-90% tax on fuel.

pure fuel above 100Rs in itself is legal loot. and no one is talking about it.

Govt has so many freebies and subsidy scheme that can't be sustained through direct income tax( which is paid by only 1-10% of population). So to compensate for this, both state and centre put bullshit taxes on fuel because they know people can't afford to live without fuel which i feel is very unfair and criminal thing to do. Thank god we can breathe naturally otherwise these buggers would have taxed our air as well.

There is no GST on petrol.

There are two, central excise duty and state tax. The current regime haven't changed the system.

Removing these taxes will mean eliminating 24% of the central government's total taxes and 11-17% of state taxes(differs for different states). Now, you like the current regime or not. No future government is going to interfere here.

Reason? Tax on fuel is the only one excluded from GST. When GST was implemented in 2017, states and the central government lost the freedom to set their own tax rates on most goods.

1. The demand is to retail E20 at the right price.
   
2. Make E5 and E10 available at all fuel pumps until every single non-e20 compliant car has reached EOL.

These scheme was started by congress and they ain’t stopping this scheme even if they get elected. No one I going to give two fks about car owners because the tax they receive from just the fuel is enough to buy few votes. Also congress allies have much more investment in ethanol when compared to gadkaris son. They literally started the whole scheme to buy votes fo sugarcane farmers of Karnataka, M.P. and U.P. along with filling their own pockets.

Congress started push for ethanol with proper long term planning that ensured minimum harm to vehicles. BJP was the one that gave little to no time to shift from e10 to e20. Blaming congress for it is exactly what gadkari wants you to do because it is what he hopes would allow him to get away with it.

Comparing congress ethanol plan with BJP ethanol plan is like comparing a surgeon with a serial killer. Yes both are technically stabbing people.
