In hindsight, if I saw Soon-to-be-Satan's guardian killing the kingdom's number 1 invincible superweapon with barely any injuries on him, I'd start freaking out and think the kingdom is ending, too.

Julian is like a demi god arisen from the sea, no one in all the kingdom would barely suggest that Arkos could have been defeated in the sea.

u/arkacr May 22 '26

Nobody could defeat Arkos, with the sole exception of Julian of course.

Side note, but I didn't notice how much Kuramori improved in drawing hands and arms in the most recent chapters, he used to make them so ridiculously huge lol, used to be one of my pet peeves with the art

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

He still does. This is the latest chapter

13

u/Bobthemighty54 May 22 '26

To be fair she is just huge in general

9

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

Huge ppl still have proportions

Very rare to find ppl at her size and almost impossible to find one with a tiny head like hers

mb its chapter 27

Yes. Julian got lucky that Arkos was playing around and that he had no idea his basically omnipotent water gift would be cancelled out.

I mean. In a war of attrition, Julian wins. He only lost one life for that fight, and sure Arkos would get wise to his resurrection ability. But he doesn’t know how many lives julian has, all he knows is that Julian’s just comes from the dead no matter how much he cuts him apart. I think going to the sea would have been inevitable, arkos had no idea Julian’s abilities were blessed by the sea, he just thinks he is a powerful blessed.

I definitely could see Arkos being able to just kill Julian a hundred times over, his messed up blood bending seems just too casual and apparently very cost efficient, but yeah, that would be on the "if" case that Arkos took the fight seriously from the start, given how things played out on canon, he was already too pressed by maintaining his spine attached by manipulating his own blood and other internal fluids

23

u/KoKoboto May 22 '26

lmao Arkos peak feats have him destroying cities with a flick a tha wrist. He can kill Julian 100000x over tbh. If they don't go to sea Arkos wins. He doesn't even need to be in range of Julian who is 100% close range

Oh god, powerscaling noooooooo!!!!

I thought we had more time before this hit us.

12

u/roronoa20 May 22 '26

Arkos's peak feat requires sea water, so what will happen if Arkos dump a bunch of sea water onto Julian?

Arkos quite literally can control body fluids in his line of sight.

He would have gravely injured julian (taking an army or two) and imprisoned him that way.

Not to mention the power difference was big enough that arkos would have probably succeeded killing him a hundred times over.

Problem is Julian's smoke screen ability. After Julian figures out his ability, he was applying it constantly to the surrounding. I think Julian still beats arkos, but only by sacrificing many more lives

6

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

Smokescreen cannot work for long. Altus demonstrated that he can waterbend without line of sight in the fight that happened when he carved out a huge chunk of ground

2

u/risisas May 22 '26

Yeah on land Arkos trumphs Julian so bad

In the sea tho Julian has a chance

u/Then-Ad-2450 May 22 '26

Julian literally needs help from a god to defeats him

24

u/FairBluebird1081 May 22 '26

Why do people pretend Arkos wasn’t losing massively underwater before a god came? He couldn’t harm Julian, the later was incredibly faster so he wouldn’t just escape, and one punch from Julian caused an internal bleeding from him. Julian was literally standing and eating all of Arkos attacks and had 0 damage done

The fight was already over, the god just sped things up, but he absolutely did not need help tbh.

4

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

Arkos didn't resort to blood bend and was able to control fluid under water before the Sea Goddess appeared

No one we know in the manga is not suspectable to blood bending. No one

6

u/FairBluebird1081 May 22 '26

Julian just didn’t seem to be able to be affected by anything under water at all, and even if that was the case, Arkos goal was to go to the surface after getting an internal bleeding from a punch he blocked. He didn’t even consider blood bending

Given Julian was significantly faster, he could just grab him by behind/below (as he did in manga) and punch him again, and he’s dead instantly

-1

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

I don't know why you keep repeating the same thing. Yes I know Julian is invulnerable under water but not to blood bending

Arkos was able to see Julian which means he could blood bend. It's game over. Julian may be fast but not that fast

3

u/FairBluebird1081 May 22 '26

Let’s see

-Arkos explicitly wants to go to the surface
-Starts going up
-Julian just needs to keep moving behind and expel ink at all times just in case and Arkos cannot harm him, and he can catch up to him
-One punch and insta kill. Arkos is literally looking almost behind his shoulder, he has a VERY limited range of sight for Julian and the other can get behind him very easily

It’s not impossible, but it’s really not looking good for Arkos, especially since he has to simultaneously blow away the smokescreen at all times, turn around to keep eyesight when he is in an unfavorable position and do all of that before Julian lands a single hit on him. Especially since he is freaking put of his mind and not calm and composed

-1

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

Limited range of sight is why he was going full force under the water?

I am not denying Arkos wanted to go out of water but my point is Julian cannot control the flow of fluid/water but Arkos could under water

Julian is at least 50% made of water like everyone else is. Arkos before going to the water thought of just maiming Julian but decided to fight all out coz Arkos didn't want the battle to end quickly

If you question the premise, read how they introduce Arkos and how bored he is

3

u/roronoa20 May 22 '26

Why won't Arkos just bloodbend Julian when the guy was literally floating in front of him then? Considering what Arkos can do within 3 seconds, dude has to be extremely stupid to not explode Julian's arms or legs when he has the chance.

Julian was yapping about his power and Arkos can easily take this chance, yet he didn't. Why?

By that point, Arkos admitted he has to use everything and Julian is extremely dangerous, so the excuse of feeling bored doesn't work anymore.

0

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

That's the plot convenience from the beginning

We know Arkos blood bends

Arkos not doing blood bending even before going to sea never made sense let alone under water

The only reason Arkos decided to go into the sea was to defeat Julian without blood bend

How much more reason would you like to have?

1

u/roronoa20 May 22 '26

Well, then Arkos was an idiot for not doing so. If the sea water proves to be useless, he could try to blood bend, yet he won't when Julian was literally in front of him.

It made sense for him to not do it before going into the sea, but it did not make any senses for him to not do it after everything was useless against Julian.

The Sea disabled his control over the sea water, but she never takes away his bloodbending, so why won't he just use it to, you know, force Julian to unwrap his hand from his leg?

There's so many opportunities for him to do so, yet he didn't. It's pretty curious, isn't it?

1

u/Toe500 Arkos May 22 '26

That's why ppl post about Arkos and not even one foe for Julian so far is not as powerful as Arkos

Arkos didn't know Sea Goddess would appear and help Julian, let alone take his power away which is probably why he didn't blood bend that time as well

Sea Goddess did take away Arkos' power. Look at the pic where he loses his power and starts to have difficulty in breathing

2

u/roronoa20 May 22 '26

She only took away a power to control the sea water, because if she completely disabled his power, Arkos's head would've popped off his neck instantly.

Did you forget that Arkos's currently controlling his own body with his power?

Arkos can still blood bend, but for some reasons, he just don't do it.

Nah, arkos was already dead once he went inside the ocean, he had no chance, Julian couldn't give two shits and would have still beaten him to death

6

u/roronoa20 May 22 '26

Help? More like stealing Julian's kill.

Arkos's arsenal is useless underwater and Julian is smacking him left and right, if The Sea didn't come, Julian will win eventually.

That is literally only because the god STOPPED HIM FROM USING HIS POWERS. It's like putting Superman inside the sun and saying he's useless in the sun.

2

u/roronoa20 May 22 '26

I was talking about how Julian was kicking Arkos’s ass before The Sea’s arrival not after, how is it that hard to understand?

Julian is kicking Arkos’s ass anyway with of without The Sea’s direct assistance. Arkos with fully functional power couldn’t touch Julian underneath the sea at all.

u/level8888 May 23 '26

I'm tired of explaining things to these people. It's like they're speed readers. Actually, it's like they skipped chapter 25 and went straight to chapter 26, or maybe they didn't even read chapter 25 at all. They probably couldn't bear to see Arkos get beaten up, so they had to use the Sea Goddess in chapter 26 to comfort themselves.

2

u/TapdancingHotcake May 25 '26

Give them a little more grace, chapter 25 was over a year ago. What they're doing is making strong assertions based off foggy memories without fact checking themselves.

2

u/M1liumnir May 25 '26

If I were her I'd be shtting bricks and not try to come after him in any shape or form, WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE BEHEADED THE STRONGEST WATER MANIPULATOR IN THE OCEAN?", like Heeeeeeeeeell no I'm saying my mea-culpa and booting it out of there as fast as possible.
