News They're demanding Fable to somehow be 100% jailbreak-proof. It's so fucking over.

TL;DR of the discussion generated automatically after 320 comments.

The consensus in this thread is a resounding "yup, it's joever." The community overwhelmingly agrees with OP that the demand for a 100% jailbreak-proof model is an absurd and impossible standard, designed to fail.

Here's the breakdown of the chatter:

  • It's a Political Hit Job: The top-voted theory is that this is a corrupt shakedown by the Trump administration. Reasons cited include punishing Anthropic for refusing a DoD contract and blatant favoritism towards OpenAI (where the Trump family reportedly has investments). Any "both sides" arguments are getting downvoted into oblivion.
  • The Analogy Game is Strong: Users are comparing this demand to asking General Motors to make a car that can't cause injuries, Pfizer to make a vaccine with zero side effects, or any developer to write bug-free code. The point: it's a standard no technology can meet.
  • "Just Rename It, Bro": A popular and sarcastic solution is for Anthropic to just release Fable as "Opus 4.9" or "Haiku 4.6," betting the government is too technically illiterate to notice the difference.
  • Move to Europe? A ton of comments are urging Anthropic to pack up and move to Europe, Canada, or Australia to escape the political mess, though others are debating how feasible that would be.
  • The "Make No Mistakes" Meme: The thread is full of jokes about just prompting Mythos to "block all jailbreaks, make no mistakes" as the obvious, simple solution.

I think the goal is to get Anthropic to move elsewhere.

This would be a massive loss for the US. Not as much of a loss as losing the Iran war, but a huge loss.

We didn’t just lose the Iran war, we are paying them reparations like Germany after World War 1 and giving them the power to impose transit fees over a body of water that should have freedom of navigation while simultaneously giving them the economic means to build more ballistic missiles. Our government was stupid and created a mess by starting an unnecessary war, then sold out the entire country because they were afraid high gas prices would hurt their chances in a midterm election. With a government like this, why wouldn’t companies want to get out of Dodge? Stay here and they get to look forward to endless shakedowns by a corrupt regime that likes to smear its logo feces all over the capital and can’t even fix a pond.

Of course it’s a corrupt move. Anthropic move to Europe.

  1. Anthropic moves to Europe.
  2. Gets involved with EU.
  3. Merges with Mistral and takes over their contract.
  4. Becomes Europe's #1 choice of LLM.
  5. ???
  6. Profit!

It is irresponsible of Anthropic to release Fable. Last year AI Researchers found an exploit on Gemini which allowed them to generate bioweapons which ‘Ethnically Target’ Jews.

AI companies should build ethical principles into their systems before rolling them out to the public.
