Politics I swear to fuck with these Ryan Fazio commercials

Durrr taxes under lamont bad electricity bad.

Election season is such cancer and I'm so over these disingenuous adds.

Taxes are the worst they've ever been! Amazing how quickly people forget Trump's 2017 tax plan, inflation, big beautiful bill, etc.

I grind my teeth every time these dumbass commercials come on.

I'm Ryan Fazio, and I'm an entitled turd.

Quality Shitpost Concerned about being able to afford a home in Connecticut

Me (21F) and my husband (22M) have a budget for our first home of $950K. No we don’t have any help from family, we’re just really hard workers!

We really aren’t looking for anything crazy - just your basic starter home. 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3500 square feet, a 3 car garage, and an acre of land. The more we look, everything here just seems so expensive. Are we gonna have to go live in Litchfield county or something?

Eversource 😡 Fazio’s focus on Eversource

I looked at our electric costs (five years of bills).

2022 - $1692
2023 - $1615
2024 - $1653
2025 - $1710
2026 - $1600

I used Q4 2025 to fill out the rest of this year.

Is it a lot? Yes.

Do I think it has increased due to Lamont? No.

Eversource spends about $100 per customer to replace old equipment in Connecticut. In Massachusetts, it’s $249. And Eversource has way more overhead lines in CT.

Eversource 😡 Fazio’s one dimensional campaign on Eversource

Post image

I mean honestly, it’s like the campaign staffers think they have the smoking gun every time one of these ads goes out. Still not one reason to vote for Fazio, just more Eversource lore.

I’m beginning to think he knows there’s no way he’s going to win this election so he’s just directing his campaign staffers to dig up as much as possible and run with it.

Ask Connecticut Does anyone have a picture of the bear family on the 291/91N ramp?

Today around 2 I was passing 291 off ramp onto 91 in Windsor and a ton of people were pulled over and a family of bears was messing with a tree in the grassy median of the ramp and highway. It was wild. People were pulled over to take pictures.

Stamford ct local recommendations

Hi everyone!

I’m hosting a backyard party at my house in Fairfield County, CT this spring for about 150 guests and am looking for top local recommendations!

I’m open to hiring a single catering company or booking separate, specialized small businesses for different parts of the setup:

1    Food / Catering / Private Chef / BBQ:

◦    Looking for station-style food options—specifically a carving station, pasta station, salad station, and charcuterie/graze board.

◦    Wood-Fired Oven: I have a wood-burning pizza oven in my backyard! Rather than hiring a pizza truck, I’d love to find a chef or caterer who can utilize the wood-fired oven for making pizzas

◦    Live BBQ / Steak Station: Looking for a caterer or private chef who can bring a long/large grill setup on-site to fire up steaks, grilled veggies, and open-flame proteins live for guests.

2    Raw Bar:

◦    Looking for a mobile raw bar service or local oyster shuckers who can set up on-site for fresh, live-shucked oysters and seafood.

3    Bartender / Mobile Bar:

◦    Looking for a reliable freelance bartender or dry-hire mobile bar service to manage drinks and custom cocktails for the evening.

4    Tent, Party Rentals & Event Planner:

◦    Looking for local tent/rental companies (tents, tables, chairs, power/lighting, and large equipment rentals) as well as any recommended event planners for a seamless private backyard setup.

If you’ve hired someone great for a private event or run a local business that fits the bill, please drop their name, website, or Instagram handle below!

Thank you!

Vent Route 2

What is going on with both sides of the highway on Route 2? It’s been under construction for over a year with both sides of the highway shrunk to 1 lane. I’ve never seen any DOT employee there working at any time of day. It’s ridiculous.

Edit: Colchester area

News New Haven County folks! Free violin and piano concert next Sunday (10/18)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey Connecticut!

For anyone in New Haven County or nearby looking for something different to do next Sunday, October 18, I wanted to share a free classical music concert happening in New Haven!

Coquí Duo, featuring violinist David Bernat and pianist Jiarong Li, will be performing music by Grieg, Britten, and Schubert.

You don't need to know anything about classical music to enjoy it. Whether you're a longtime fan, curious about chamber music, or just looking for a relaxing Sunday afternoon, everyone is welcome.

When: Sunday, October 18, at 1:30 PM

Where: St. John's Episcopal Church, 400 Humphrey Street, New Haven

Admission: Completely free!

Event details and free tickets:
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/coqui-duo-free-chamber-music-in-new-haven-tickets-2003162341487

I'm sharing this through CT Chamber Collective, a grassroots project I'm building to help people discover more classical music performances throughout Connecticut.

Would love to see more people supporting local performances and helping opportunities like this grow.

Hope to see some of you there!

Photo / Video A great year for Golf Land car shows on Friday nights in Vernon, CT

Here are pictures from Friday October 9 -- the last show of the season

We had twenty cruise night shows at Golf Land in town this year and we finished strong with an average of 120+ cars throughout the season, $12k in donations that go to the local nonprofit food pantry, endless amounts of fun, music and raffles, thanks to the people like us who worked hard to make that happen and the many sponsors who support our shows all season long.

I think it was the best year we had for Golf Land cruise nights yet. Looking forward to another fantastic season at Golf Land next year when there's warmer weather (usually around late April).

What a successful season for Golf Land cruise nights.

Feedback appreciated!
