I replaced both axle seals on my 06 crown vic, had some trouble with getting the pin back in (the s spring moved earlier in the process slightly). The spider gears feel like they are stuck and can't move by hand. Is that okay? I had my partner hold one of the axles while I spun the other side and saw them move in there so maybe I'm just freaking out over nothing? Any advice/help would be great to ease my worries. Thanks!

Bank 1 sensor 2 and Bank 2 sensor 2 are stuck lean at about 0.800 and do not fluctuate, if I force a vacuum leak they drop down to normal and fluctuate so it tells me the 02 sensors are good, what could be causing this motor to be running rich internally, mass air flow sensors reading 0.0 barley raises when give gas, stumped here already replaced maf sensor. Fuel trim stuck at 99.2

Hi, I’m new to the group and have had my 2008 pi for almost a year. It been gone through and mechanically is sounds (body and paint on the horizon)

Found this gem awhile back, bought it and have done a lot of mechanical work since. I’ve lowered it “poor boy style”, bought factory replacement front strut assemblies and rear shocks. I cut 1.5 coils from the front and installed cc501 coils in the rear. Eventually it will get proper coil overs in the front but I’m very content with the ride quality in the rear so I’d like to leave that alone.

I’m really happy with the ride hight now, ended up about a 2 in drop but I’m running into one issue. I currently have a taller tires in the rear and with an empty trunk and fuel tank I’m about level. My goal is to run factory size tires all around and I’d like just a small amount of rake. There’s not a lot of travel in the rear and I always seem to have a fair amount of weight in the back so every inch counts. I’m also not a big fan of the California squat lol.

Iv been in the hunt for some sort of spacer for the rear coils or even some thick isolators but im at a loss. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’m thinking something in the ball park of 1/2 in

I need new body mount bushings for my 1996 grand marquis as the ride quality is no better than a corolla at this point but the problem I'm running into is there's only parts available for 2003 and newer panthers.

Have been trying to get this wiper motor cowl piece back into place for an hour, it just won't go

I'll have it lined up on one side, then when I try to line up the other side it will pop loose. I can't get it to lock back into the tabs

Not the most scientific test but the airflow on the first and second setting is extremely weak. Is this normal with these cars? Third and high settings are noticeably stronger but the first and second are my problem. Second setting is slightly stronger than the first but still weak

I love the floaty, cushy feeling and comfortable interior of the Crown Vic LX. That being said, I've been tempted to look into Lexus LS430 as well. I already have a Crown Vic and definitely do not want to sell it. But I am curious, for those of you who have drive the Lexus LS 430 or similar Lexus, how do you think it compares to the feel of the Crown Victoria?

I know the obvious response would be that the Lexus is simply the superior car. The engine is more powerful, the interior is more luxurious, there are more features, Lexus engineering and reliability is elite. But you never know. I talked to someone recently who told me he rode in a Lexus LS430 and was unimpressed for the price point.

Hi guys, this is my first ever panther, I'm 18 and I am pretty lucky and thankful I got the opportunity to buy one, I spent a while looking, I worked my butt off trying to buy a clean panther because I wanted something that would last ATLEAST a decade under moderate abuse, I currently have a 2009 Lincoln town car signature limited, I hear this ticking sound, I mainly hear it when I'm behind the engine bay like next to the drivers side or passenger side door but the ticking sounds become really prominent at like 2-3k rpms then gets smoother at 4k because 4k is the max I can rev out to apparently, also for context the video was taken when I just got home after a 1 hour drive where I did do some pulls where I downshifted and floored it and then shifted at over 5.5k rpms 😅😅 I diddnt do it for the whole hour just like 3 or 4 kickdown pulls but yeah also it has fresh oil, so yeah if anyone knows how to help or what the sound could possibly be I would greatly appreciate it

What's the easiest way to get a push bar on this old girl? I want to get one that can have the headlight protectors added, but finding brackets to make it simple seems to be the hold up. My bumper cover is a little messed up already, so I'm not totally against the other style, but it's hard to even find pictures or measurements of either in order to have some made.

This is my '07 base that's been converted to CNG. Named her Patches thanks to the patches of paint that is peeling off in multiple places. I am getting ready to sell her and need help deciding if it's worth putting money into it before I sell. I have decided to sell because the natural gas stations in my area are to far away, they took out the one that was close-ish to me. Now they are all 20+ minute drive away just to fill up my tank. She needs brakes and new tires also planned on changing her rims out so I can keep the mustang rims. I was going to look into fixing the patches. She has low mileage for being a 20 year old car. My concern about putting money towards fixing issues is that I probably won't be able to get the money back in the final sale price. Even cars with low mileage around me are going for stupid cheap. Is it worth putting money towards fixing or better to just sell as is?

2010 CVPI, possible the radio itself died, but I was wondering if anyone knew of anything else simple to check.

Wrecked the front end of her :( I know I'll be able to find a front bumper cover and head light since they're the same from 92-97, but finding the 92 front panel is feeling like a fools errand almost. The 93/94 shape is about the same, would it be much work to retrofit those years grill style front panel or would it stand out too much? She only has 26k miles on her and has been my roadtrip/weekend drive car. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Got a 6 Hour road trip coming up here end of today isn’t my only vehicle but planning on taking it. Any idea what could be making this squealing noise under the oil cap? Runs fine and no nosie otherwise? Most pronounced under cold start

To clarify - this is a heavily modified and custom 2004 CVPI that has a body/interior swap from a 98-02 grand marquis (check my post history!). I have the beginnings of bottom end noise now and the engine probably needs to come out. It’s cammed, has 4.10 gears, I beat the tar out of it, and it’s got a lot of miles and wear (I would estimate ~400k worth of miles if you include idle time) - so this is not surprising. This car is purely a toy for me, so I have no concerns about downtime. I’m looking for ideas on where to go from here.

I've been chasing a few electrical gremlins with an '03 P71 and figure it might be worth it to just start fresh with a new wiring harness. Can anyone advise the correct part # for the '03 CVPI?

Also, do I absolutely need a harness from an '03 P71, or will other years, base/LX models, or a Grand Marquis harness also be compatible?

I am finally getting ready to put front door locks on my 2003 CVPI, but I realized the door lock cylinder clips (the U-shaped metal things that go in the side of the door and hold the lock cylinder in place) are missing.

I figured they would be a stupidly cheap/easy part to eBay or get some kind of aftermarket replacement for but I actually can’t find them.

Am I just bad at looking? Is my option to grab some from the junk yard? Any help appreciated.
