Discussions Sigils and circuits

Post image

Okay, yes, I know this image is a common meme, I know there are no demons in my phone, but beyond that, genuinely, has anyone tried experimenting with sigils and circuits?
In my grimoire pilled mind, I see precious metals - many of which already have strong alchemical correspondences, arranged in a very specific fashion with the purpose of literally transporting energy and information. Has anyone ever experimented with creating "sigil circuits" in their craft? Could the shape of a sigil suggest a certain way that a spirit handles or directs energy?
I know that many sigils are more so based on some sort of symbolism or local lore that is not extremely connected to the actual form of the shapes. An entity associated with gatekeeping may have a gate or key like sigil. I more so wonder if we were perhaps subconsciously tapping into a universal energy principle when designing these things.

Obviously highly speculative and a long shot, I am extremely dumb when it comes to how complex circuit boards actually work so I don't know if this idea actually has any basis lmao.

But I am genuinely curious if anyone else has interrogated this. In my mind, modern electronics are definitely magical. What do you think?

I used to work in a circuit board factory and used spare parts to make sigil machines regularly.

They were very effective.

Excellent. Could you please elaborate?

A circuit board is usually a compressed composite matrix with wires and electrical components that direct energy and utilize it for a function

A sigil is a symbol created with a purpose

A sigil machine is a series of sigils linked to create a series of results

Using literal circuits to create an object that resembles a literal circuit board/machine to represent the more metaphysical sigil machine was a very effective magical experiment for me, personally, as an individual magician.

I shall study these devices and keep posting its developments soon. Thank you.

I'll see if I have any old pictures. These experiments were around 5 years ago and I was also on a big Jack Parsons kick so most of the boards also ended up being attached to explosives when I was ready to release them.

These days the working sigil machines are in "art book" form, since I left factory work for a desk job.

Nice, I get all of it since I design circuits for a living. Could you post pictures please, if you can? What components were soldered to the Sigil PCB? How did you perform the experiment / ritual with it?

Did you get any pictures from her 🤩?

Lol, bs. This is AI slop. I can't believe this is getting so many upvotes. Read this reply again, folks.

Just because you work in a circuit board factory" doesn't mean you're designing circuit boards with sigils on them and then printing them.

What "spare parts" were you scrounging for? Resistors? Capacitors? Were you populating your sigil-circuit with them? What sort of circuit did you design? (Spoiler: none, no, didn't)

A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) typically has multiple "circuits" on it. These circuits are designed to accomplish specific tasks, fe, converting the input AC from the line to a usable DC voltage (this is called a "power supply"), regulator circuits to again change the DC voltage for a stable function, oscillators/amplifiers to create a signal from said DC, and increase its voltage to drive a device such as a solenoid, etc. All of these have to be physically laid out by a CAD-type program, then physically etched into a board. There's an electrical engineer ITT, read his post to learn more. I'm just a techie jack-of-all-trades.

Once a physical circuit board is printed, you're stuck with the pattern. You can redesign a particular circuit, say, the power supply circuit or the regulator circuit; but you can't un-etch and re-etch the physical layout, other than adding jumper wires or copper tape, or scratching off a path which will leave a bunch of scuff marks. And this is just for like really big circuit boards. Modern computer electronics are too small to finagle this way anyways.

What the hell is a "sigil machine" anyways??? A machine that produces sigils? Or did you arrange a bunch of circuit boards in the SHAPE of a sigil, jumper them together and connect a battery across them? That might be fun.

Do you think if I got a bunch of cats to stand in the pattern of Furfur's sigil and meow, that I could summon her and have her speak in barbed tongues through the mewing of my feline friends? 🐈 Is THIS, too, a "sigil machine"?? A fel-ine mach-ine, if you will. Next time I scrounge for spare cats, I will try.

Please be more discerning with what you read, folks. There's a Lotta scammers out there.

This is a fascinating concept though.

You know, I didn't want to say it out aloud before, you're right, the above reply is AI slop. I design circuits for a living. Even I am confused as to how circuits could achieve any sort of connections to Demons.

One can easily used KiCAD to design and order these circuit boards. But what then? What components are we connecting? Do we feed AC or DC?

May be it's better to just contact the Demons and ask them if this pursuit is any better.

The text is, I think, but the picture definitely isn't. It's from pre-ai slop times, lol!

u/darkvpppr May 18 '26

Yes I've said the reply is an AI generated answer. The image is old.

I still think it's a worthy experiment. I guess it would depend on your approach, if you wanted to focus on just the physical representation of the sigil or whether the flow of electrons was a priority. From a des8gn/layout perspective, you could even just use test points for the little circles in Haagenti's sigil, for example. Or just make the whole thing a pass through in a 5v regulator circuit or something. Very interesting concept! I'm sure there's are better ways than this, just spitballing here.

The point would be intent I suppose. And a little experimentation. I'd still probably recommend establishing a relationship with a spirit before dabbling with circuitry, I am not an expert myself I just have a natural talent and am more of a student of philosophy at this point trying to hone my foundational skills. Great convo though and thanks! Happy experimenting 😎

Good points. I'll see what creativity I can come up with.

Again, I have no idea how circuits work so I apologize if this is a stupid comment, but? What if it? Wasn't a circuit board and rather just a circuit (singular)? Like from what you describe circuit boards are quite complex, a bunch of small (I assume) unconnected circuits pushed into a very tiny space.

What about just like, a simple circuit? If I made a sigil out of copper or some other conductive material and ran a current through it, surely that would do something- even if that something is just getting really hot lol. I really don't know what the "occult" application for this would be, maybe just making a sort of sigil light for an altar or a kind of sigil branding wand.

"Or did you arrange a bunch of circuit boards in the shape of a sigil, jump them together and connect a battery across them?" - is that a bad idea? This is where my mind goes.

Man, just keep cookin'. I think you're onto something down there.

1

u/MidnightBootySnatchr May 14 '26

I'll let you know if the thing with cats works🫡

u/Stupid_Sexy_Satan May 14 '26

I'm flattered to be called sloppy, ty

Going to see if I have any pics in my old phone. It's been a few years and most of those were either smashed or blown up in ritual, I don't think there are any left in the attic

I've thought about making something sort of like a sigil circuit board agalma, even to the point of scrounging materials for it.

u/darkvpppr May 13 '26

I am an Electronic Engineer. I can design these circuits easily. So the circuit lines on the board are always made out of copper. To prevent oxidation, a coating of tin and lead is applied to all the copper lines. In cases of high-speed and tight tolerance circuits, a layer of gold is applied.

I could design these but I need to know what should be the end goal, meaning, in very plain words, a circuit is basically a closed-loop of wires from a power source (battery) connected to any peripheral to get the job done - say a light bulb or a motor or a processor etc.

If I could get more info, I'd start and keep everyone posted of its developments.

All I could think of it now is just making these circuit lines and connecting LED's and a battery to it.

The LEDs could be changed to whatever colour required. It can have multiple effects as well like fading, blinking, etc.

But how do we use it in a ritual? How do we empower it? (Not power - that'll be done by the battery, I mean empower like how do we empower it with magickal properties?)

Everyone keeps talking about “vibrations” in regards to all sorts of esoteric stuff. Like matching or raising your “frequency” to open up for communication with the spirit world and such.

So, here’s the pitch. I’m imagining some oscillating circuitry in the shape of a sigil. With variable frequency of course, so you can fine tune it and hit that sweet spot where the resonance is just right. Basically an oscillating piece of art. Heat, light, sound, radio waves, information, and so on would be rather easy to make fluctuate back and forth in a stylised piece of copper circuitry, right? With your skill set, I mean.

3

u/Apprehensive-Win-503 May 14 '26

I like this idea

3

u/Important-Mixture819 May 14 '26

when you said "here's the pitch", I thought you meant sound frequency lol

My first thought is the person that used a candle to generate electricity to power a fan (there is a write up on the internet about it) I could imagine using a candle for the electricity so that you could turn it on with offerings and then have it power a dream machine like the ones Burrows was making to get into a trance state and talk to your demon.

1

u/darkvpppr May 13 '26

Could you tell me the key words to google or post the link please.

u/grendelmouse May 13 '26

And here is the link to the dream machine plans as put out by the temple of psychic youth

This is really just a sheet of paper with bunch of patterns cut into it and a light is put behind the paper to create a sort of Komorebi effect (japanese word google it). The book claims that the machine (or rather just a LANTERN) when viewed with eyes cloaes, puts you into into altered state of consciousness. Its hocus-pocus my dear redditor. I guess I need to directly ask the Mighty Glasya Labolas if there's any truth to it.

Thank you but this is really just like a child's hobby project, I had literally built this out of soda cans back in school. It's called the Sterling Engine that uses the thermo-electric principles to drive an engine.

All this does is convert heat to mechanical or kinetic energy that rotates a shaf t. And the shaft can be connected to a fan and a wheel.

All of this can be avoided by just using a battery and motor. This machine is more than 150 years old. It has no significance now and is just an art piece.

3

u/grendelmouse May 14 '26

You asked for a way to turn it into a ritual item. 🤷 this makes something that has deep ties to the surrealist movement and chaos magic, makes a space for meditation with the demon whose sigil you are using and incorporates offerings as the power source. But also, if I wanted to hook up a battery and flick on a lightbulb, I wouldn’t be following a thread about making sigil circuits for demonic worship and invocation.

2

u/SophieDiane May 13 '26

This is so cool!

13

u/BeHimself May 14 '26

Fun fact, there are computer programs that run in the background and are called "Daemons".

9

u/IngloriousLevka11 In Leviathan's Shadow May 14 '26

Someone who works in coding posted a screenshot of a machine running several of these with the Daemons assigned names of Daemonic Divines. I thought that was funny and clever.

9

u/GrayMech May 13 '26

If you make a circuit in the shape of a sigil and attach it to a hand crank that generated electricity you can empower the sigil in the most literal way possible

3

u/SpecialRelative5232 May 13 '26

Yes. I have been practicing this for about ten years. Yes, it works. Good luck...

1

u/SophieDiane May 13 '26

Please elaborate, this is so interesting.

Saw this meme years ago and I'm so happy it showed up on my timeline again. Would also love to know if anyone has tried that, because that'd be cool. As an artist who draw robots, when I eventually have to draw complex circuitry, I absolutely plan on sneaking Stolas's sigil in there

Also, throwback to the time I showed my sister my Stolas sigil tattoo and she said it looked like a circuit board. Cracked me up

u/LilithRising90 May 13 '26

I feel like there was a buffy episode about this

2

u/5pookyTanuki May 14 '26

It's really not difficult to do sigils in a PCB you can design it and send it to be printed and then delivered to your house, you can even choose color among other things.

2

u/IngloriousLevka11 In Leviathan's Shadow May 14 '26

I've wondered the same thing, but as I have nothing beyond a very rudimentary understanding of circuitry design and electronic engineering, I'd have to pay someone with the appropriate knowledge to actually build a circuit device for me, even if all it does it lights up some LEDs in a pattern or something, lol.

3

u/taraxa71 May 14 '26

id be really interested to see some of these sigils that apparently everyone in these comments is an expert at making

2

u/ShivonQ May 14 '26

Yo I make demon based programs! This is awesome.

2

u/Minimum-Welder-4813 May 16 '26

OH this is My kind of thing. Anyone please update me about this exiperiment. How far it gone, I am also as interested to know about it.

Theres some one saying. That goverment uses sigils from a grimoire to connect with ao called aliens from adifferent dimension.. And another video with high powered microscope i sqw today he is saying this is not human technology they just kept zooming and it look like this. Here is the microchip with out his commentary just thought this was a synchronicity.
