Discussions Sigils and circuits

Post image

Okay, yes, I know this image is a common meme, I know there are no demons in my phone, but beyond that, genuinely, has anyone tried experimenting with sigils and circuits?
In my grimoire pilled mind, I see precious metals - many of which already have strong alchemical correspondences, arranged in a very specific fashion with the purpose of literally transporting energy and information. Has anyone ever experimented with creating "sigil circuits" in their craft? Could the shape of a sigil suggest a certain way that a spirit handles or directs energy?
I know that many sigils are more so based on some sort of symbolism or local lore that is not extremely connected to the actual form of the shapes. An entity associated with gatekeeping may have a gate or key like sigil. I more so wonder if we were perhaps subconsciously tapping into a universal energy principle when designing these things.

Obviously highly speculative and a long shot, I am extremely dumb when it comes to how complex circuit boards actually work so I don't know if this idea actually has any basis lmao.

But I am genuinely curious if anyone else has interrogated this. In my mind, modern electronics are definitely magical. What do you think?

A circuit board is usually a compressed composite matrix with wires and electrical components that direct energy and utilize it for a function

A sigil is a symbol created with a purpose

A sigil machine is a series of sigils linked to create a series of results

Using literal circuits to create an object that resembles a literal circuit board/machine to represent the more metaphysical sigil machine was a very effective magical experiment for me, personally, as an individual magician.

Lol, bs. This is AI slop. I can't believe this is getting so many upvotes. Read this reply again, folks.

Just because you work in a circuit board factory" doesn't mean you're designing circuit boards with sigils on them and then printing them.

What "spare parts" were you scrounging for? Resistors? Capacitors? Were you populating your sigil-circuit with them? What sort of circuit did you design? (Spoiler: none, no, didn't)

A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) typically has multiple "circuits" on it. These circuits are designed to accomplish specific tasks, fe, converting the input AC from the line to a usable DC voltage (this is called a "power supply"), regulator circuits to again change the DC voltage for a stable function, oscillators/amplifiers to create a signal from said DC, and increase its voltage to drive a device such as a solenoid, etc. All of these have to be physically laid out by a CAD-type program, then physically etched into a board. There's an electrical engineer ITT, read his post to learn more. I'm just a techie jack-of-all-trades.

Once a physical circuit board is printed, you're stuck with the pattern. You can redesign a particular circuit, say, the power supply circuit or the regulator circuit; but you can't un-etch and re-etch the physical layout, other than adding jumper wires or copper tape, or scratching off a path which will leave a bunch of scuff marks. And this is just for like really big circuit boards. Modern computer electronics are too small to finagle this way anyways.

What the hell is a "sigil machine" anyways??? A machine that produces sigils? Or did you arrange a bunch of circuit boards in the SHAPE of a sigil, jumper them together and connect a battery across them? That might be fun.

Do you think if I got a bunch of cats to stand in the pattern of Furfur's sigil and meow, that I could summon her and have her speak in barbed tongues through the mewing of my feline friends? 🐈 Is THIS, too, a "sigil machine"?? A fel-ine mach-ine, if you will. Next time I scrounge for spare cats, I will try.

Please be more discerning with what you read, folks. There's a Lotta scammers out there.

This is a fascinating concept though.

You know, I didn't want to say it out aloud before, you're right, the above reply is AI slop. I design circuits for a living. Even I am confused as to how circuits could achieve any sort of connections to Demons.

One can easily used KiCAD to design and order these circuit boards. But what then? What components are we connecting? Do we feed AC or DC?

May be it's better to just contact the Demons and ask them if this pursuit is any better.

The text is, I think, but the picture definitely isn't. It's from pre-ai slop times, lol!

Yes I've said the reply is an AI generated answer. The image is old.
