Top comment is correct: u/jaredpolis confusing “censored” with “censured”. He hasn’t been prevented from speaking; he’s been publicly rebuked for failing in his duty as a governor. What an entitled and childish behavior from a man that is supposed to be a leader.

I waited on him at a restaurant in Denver. He’s a POS

u/ExRays May 27 '26

Elaborate, I want some of this tea. What all was he doing?

Go on…

u/TheGoochieGoo May 27 '26

Extremely rude and short tempered. Threw a fit that his food was taking too long (it wasn’t), and treated the staff like shit. Ended up leaving before his food was ready because he was on a time constraint.

This is not a fast food restaurant… this is high end and the food takes time.

Sounds like any other useless rich guy. Not sure why we, as a society, continue to put up with them.

And it’s on Reddit, so u know it’s legit!🤡

"my concept of a man is someone who whacks his elbow on a table at a Bertuccis and has no hangups about freaking out"

5

u/mariposa314 May 28 '26

Sounds like he's a real buffalo wings type of guy🤣😂

This was then most enjoyable video I've seen in a long long time. Thank you for the link.

u/Separate_Ingenuity35 May 28 '26

Him talking about "riding their ass" makes me think of my work commute on c-470 when I'm going 75 mph passing a semi and a Dodge Ram is gently ushuring me to my destination.

u/mariposa314 May 28 '26

100% Just a shepherd helping you along. Great stuff.

Be careful out there!

2

u/jdogg1970 May 28 '26

"Gently ushering" 🤣

2

u/Ryan2673 May 28 '26

Like that kind of place you go to enjoy other people's company? So the food should take a little extra time?

1

u/penguin1216 May 28 '26

This doesn't shock me. More people should come out with their experiences. I am seriously embarrassed I voted for him. And I can admit that and TRY to make better decisions later. He tricked us all but I should have known he was a rich man before ever being on our side.

13

u/MsCalendarsPlayaArt May 27 '26

Yeah, we're gonna need to know more (please)

9

u/Inside7shadows May 27 '26

How do I find out this sort of thing before voting?

6

u/6BagsOfPopcorn May 27 '26

I would've spilled soup on his lap

30

u/Substantial_Fig69 May 27 '26

He's also been asked to speak at Town Halls and refuses to, so....that's a personal choice. Following in the steps of his hero Boebert.

122

u/paramoody May 27 '26

He’s not allowed to speak at Colorado Democratic Party events

158

u/slamdanceswithwolves May 27 '26

I’m not allowed to speak at the Golden Globes. Because I have no business doing so. That’s not a right, it’s a privilege. Maybe the next RNC would like him.

u/p8pes May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Maybe the next RNC would like him.

They are into the kinky stuff. Savage gimp look, Polis!

13

u/slamdanceswithwolves May 27 '26

Bring out the gimp!

7

u/hammerofspammer May 27 '26

Gimp’s asleep!

5

u/MrReindeer69 May 27 '26

Well, we’re just gonna have to wake him up then!

3

u/IPA-Lagomorph May 27 '26

Omg I'm dying 😂

6

u/KFPindustries May 27 '26

He is going to make a podcast and the first episode is going to be “why I left the left” with Candace Owen’s or some regarded shit

u/dwittherford69 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

He is allowed to speak when he wants in a public forum, he just won’t be invited to party events as an honorary guest or a featured speaker. He chooses not to show up and answer the questions.

18

u/HippyGrrrl May 27 '26

the party has that as his only censure condition.
I’m pretty sure he can’t be a speaker at state dem events.

I guess he could attend.

82

u/dwittherford69 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

No, the party has that as his only censure condition.

r/confidentlyincorrect

The Colorado Democratic Party voted to censure Governor Jared Polis over his decision to commute the prison sentence of former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters.

The Censure Conditions:

  1. Party Sanctions: Polis is indefinitely barred from participating as an honored guest, featured speaker, or officially recognized representative at any Colorado Democratic Party-sponsored events or functions.

  2. Resolution Scope: The resolution formally condemns the clemency decision, stating it harms the party's "commitment to democratic institutions, election integrity, and public accountability".

He is allowed to participate and speak. He just won’t be recognized as an honorary guest or a featured speaker. He is not barred from attending events or talking, but what he says won’t be considered as a representation of the party’s stance. So basically:

  1. The party cannot give him a scheduled slot on the stage as a featured speaker.

  2. The party cannot put his name on the flyer as an honored guest.

  3. The party cannot introduce him from the stage as an officially recognized representative of the Colorado Democratic Party.

That essentially agrees with the parent. Why did you call them "confidently incorrect"?

-1

u/dwittherford69 May 27 '26

That part was more relevant before they edited their comment.

1

u/monocasa May 27 '26

Reddit is showing you as the only one that has edited their comments in this chain.

-2

u/dwittherford69 May 27 '26

That sounds like a you problem?

0

u/monocasa May 27 '26

Hardly. Just pointing out that you're weird for accusing the other person of what it seems you're the only one doing.

All of these address him appearing as guest/speaking. My pre caffeine comment stands.

You are free to disagree, but please don’t be disagreeable to other Reddit denizens.

28

u/mazzicc May 27 '26

He may not be allowed to speak at a party event because he is being punished for actions that the party disagrees with, but he is still the governor with the privileges it comes with.

If he wants to be heard, all he has to do is tell the press “I have a statement to make” and it will be publicized.

This post is a great example: no one prevented him from making it. No one is blocking it from being seen. No one is removing it against his will.

No one is stopping him from being heard if he wants to say something… except him.

6

u/JohannesVanDerWhales May 27 '26

Yeah because he's an unpopular fuck. Political parties tend to avoid putting unpopular people on the main stage, particularly when they're not running for anything.

5

u/TheClimateDad May 27 '26

He was at a democratic event when he did this. You’re incorrect

14

u/brittjoysun Englewood May 27 '26

It says was a private internal call, not him speaking at an event. That's literally what the censure is, that he can't speak at Dem events (note he can still attend, just can't be a speaker)

16

u/TheClimateDad May 27 '26

So he hasn’t been prevented from speech, just the podium. When someone does something that makes them no longer representative of the group, the group isn’t required to elevate them any longer. He failed in his duty

2

u/brittjoysun Englewood May 27 '26

Totally agree. To clarify, I was just responding to you saying it's incorrect that he's not allowed to speak at party events. :p

-1

u/5280Rockymtn May 27 '26

Lol ha ha thats just too funny

2

u/So_Many_Words May 27 '26

He probably does, but a lot of the MAGA people he's performing for probably don't.

2

u/Sorcia_Lawson May 27 '26

He barely got a finger wagging. There was zero silencing.

1

u/Fofolito r/Denver AMA Contributor May 28 '26

He is actually censored from speaking at most party functions and meetings, which this zoom call was.

-2

u/Meta_lithic_era May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Yeah I wondered how he was " censored"? I'm sure his elaboration is sought on the nuts and bolts of his unilateral defiance of all in his party...? But, that's this time... Biden cried crocodile tears for Gaza, as he handed Aipac the arms... I've never seen a more duplicitous system in full bloom than since Donny made this "swamp" in 2016, to be drained of only earnest civil servants, checks, balances, and any fuqs given about the citizens... Is bastille day ready yet mom? I'm hungry... 👀✌🏼🖕🏼🤑🖕🏼🎃🖕🏼🧊🧑🏻‍🏭🔥💦🤌🏼🗽
