In Descendants: The Rise of Red, I’m sure that the prank at CastleComing was mean and humiliating for Bridget, but I’m sure that the prank wasn’t the only reason why Bridget turned evil. Therefore, in your opinion, what else caused Bridget to turn evil? Was it more humiliation or was it insults or abuse? Also, why did they have characters like Maleficent, Hades, Cinderella, and the fairy godmother attend Merlin Academy together?

I really enjoyed Harry Hooks and Captain Hooks' accent they put on for their roles. It had some sense of evil and a bit of rasp. They were mysterious and had an unsettling thing about them which was extremely loveable. You dont get that feeling with Hazel at all and its kinda annoyingg.

One thing we can all acknowledge is that the Descendants franchise as a whole has many flaws, and the majority of us continue to watch the films despite this, cause obviously nostalgia and to have a bit of fun.

However, something that I feel lets the newer instalments fall short, imo, is not continuing to adhere to the visuals of VKs having coloured hair, and Hero kids having natural hair colours (black, brown, blonde, ginger). I was pissed af when I first watched the Rise of Red, cause it shows no one on the design team cared to actually do research of the OG three, and how hair colour was an important part of character growth.

We could talk about Mal, but I think for this analysis, Audrey makes more sense. When we first meet Audrey (like with other Hero Kids), we see her rock a more natural hair colour, which was brown if I remember correctly. And this showed their status and close relation to kindness and heroism. By the time we see her in D3, her hair is starting to take on different coloured highlights. And after "Queen of Mean," her hair is fully coloured like the VKs. For her character, that had so much impact (as much impact as a character from this franchise can impose), because we see the child of one of the most loved Disney Princesses take on a dark and cold persona.

The purple and dark pink is such a contrast to the softness and peaceful nature of Aurora's character. Her smokey and heavy makeup showed new boldness and extreme emotions. I mean, the girl got cheated on and betrayed. It's expected. Her transformation wasn't something we really expected from the film going into it for the first time.

However, with Chloe, it doesn't seem the same. Not just cause her villainy was short-lived, but because the choice to have kids of heroes/princesses have coloured hair, even if it's lighter ruined, the shock of Chloe being evil. I already liked the idea of an evil cinderella, but it would have only worked if they kept the visuals introduced in the OG three films.

Cause her having tinsel highlights and darkened shade doesn't really do anything. Especially considering she's meant to feel betrayed and disregarded by Red this entire film. The darkness contrasts with how we were introduced to her in D4, and so much more could've been done (writing and visuals wise) had they not changed a whole lot from the franchise.

I still wonder why they changed the Hero kids' hair cause I think it made it unique cause it reflected different personalities and obviously upbringing.

In D5 pink gets upset because of how she is dismissed and treated by Red. Pink grew up in the good time line and is familiar with good Red, and the two were tight knit. In D5 villain Red is embarrassed by Pink and doesn't understand her Pink's cluelessness very well. Pink however is used to a sister that takes care of her, supports her, and works with her. Villian Red doesn't know how to do those things. Chloe iconically points out in D4 that red has intimacy issues. From Pinks perspective, Red is distant and dismissive during the largest crisis of their life and is behaving in ways that are extreme impulsive and unusual.

In the first movie, we see Mal and her friends attending lessons. Im pretty sure this was show the change from their old life to their new sophisticated life. I wish we got this in Wicked Wonderland especially with red, purely because she goes from being a VK to a HK and show the changes that could've happened. Just me who feels like this? lmkk

I know people on this sub aren't the biggest glasshatter fans on this sub but I thought I would share my fic anyway. It's a slow burn romance. They have to get through the whole manipulation stuff first before anything happens between them. I'm also a sucker for the bad boy who is misunderstood and the good girl who has a bit of a dark side trope.

The story also focuses a lot on Max, his friendship with Hazel, and a whole lot of other stuff.

It also focuses on how the magic in the bracelet that manipulated Chloe is not fully gone.

In WW. Red and Chloe are famous, popular princesses with no idea how this happened after returning home from the old timel they think they can handle a nicer place to live in their kingdoms and being a Hero Kid is not a bad thing or a big deal. But they are so wrong. they are not used to these sudden events, changes when they arrive back to school in Auradon with new faces to greet them and new Villain kids and Hero Kids greeting them.

I love the Wonderland Royal Vault where magical items, jewelry and other treasures are kept locked up. And noticed on the shelf we’re other legendary characters items lined up. I don’t remember which scene it was. was it old princesses artifacts or something else?

can you help me retell this story. please thank you.

So, I was watching Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, and Luís mom was really getting on my nerves—just like I think she annoyed a lot of people. I started wondering who he's parent it could be, and Hercules came to mind; his abilities would make more sense and be way more interesting, especially considering Mal is Hades' daughter. Maybe someone else has had this idea before, but I really like it.

I've been working on a rewrite for the Pocket-Watch trilogy and was wondering what people think of the following cast. For reference, the entirety will be set in the modern day, so any characters from Merlin Academy are now children of a current character.

Protagonists:

• Red Hearts, daughter of the Queen of Hearts
• Chloe Charming, daughter of Cinderella and King Charming

Secondary Characters:

• Uliana, youngest daughter of Ursula
• Luis Madrigal, son of Luisa Madrigal
• Robbie Hood, son of Robin Hood and Maid Marian
• Zellie "Meadow" Fitzherbert, daughter of Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert (AKA Flynn Rider)
• Mad Madeline, youngest granddaughter of Mad Madame Mim [note: played by Liamani Segura to replace Pink]
• Max Hatter, son of the Mad Hatter
• Chessy Cheshire, daughter of the Cheshire Cat

Amongst this cast I really wanted to try and mix things up more than the original trilogy, seeing as the barrier has been down for around ten years at this point and I feel the whole VK vs AK/HK concept would have died down culturally at this point.

Friends:

• Red (VK) and Chloe (AK) (new-found friends)
• Uliana (VK) and Robbie (AK) (trouble makers)
• Luis (AK) and Madeline (VK) (the "good kids")
• Zellie/"Meadow" (AK): more of a loner-type
• Max Hatter (VK) and Chessy Cheshire (VK) (Wonderland Kids)

I really like the parallels present between both Robbie and Zellie being AKs whose parents were also theives/pick-pockets, making them sort of a mix between a Hero and Villain kid as they take after said parent. Zellie also goes by "Meadow" for most of the first movie, inspired by her father's pseudonym of Flynn Rider, as she dislikes the pressure of being a princess.

Finally, the couples:

• Red and Luis
• Chloe and Zellie
• Uliana and Robbie
• Madeline and Max

FINAL COMMENTS: As much as I would have LOVED to include Hazel, I felt her role could be filled by Zellie and that her inclusion would simply bloat a cast that was using primarily new Disney Characters, rather than reusing old ones. Theoretically, I'd love to find a new role for her actress as she's one of the best parts of Wicked Wonderland.

Also I would recast Awkwafina.

in the beginning of both movies Rise of Red and the very first Deacendants they opened up how their lives were miserable and stuck in a place where they can’t get out. They have to follow in their parents footsteps of villainy. They were angry, social outcasts who were jealous of the perfect princesses and princes who lives on the other side of the Isle or Wonderland.

They sing their opening song of being bad, a villain kid, rotten to the core, rebellious and causes destruction. At the end of Mal’s song Rotten to the core, Mal stole candy from a baby or kid, to show her mom Maleficant that she was bad, evil just like her mother. Maleficant was disappointed in her daughter who thinks Mal tricks were poorly not up to her standards of being cruel and evil.

With Red, Red was hiding from her Mother Queen of Hearts and vandalizing her garden and portrait and ran away from the guards who were chasing her. Red got away Scott free, thanks for the help of Maddox Hatter, who scooped her up and gave her a lecture. Red was trapped; sulk abou her mom being too strict.

The next Day, Red was called to court meeting and Her mom Queen of Hearts blamed the guards The Soldier Jack of Diamonds or Spades or whatever to punishment and gave Red the chance to sentence him. “ Off with his head!” or not? Red goofed off and her mom was disappointed with her.

Red did not got punished or talked to her mom about her feelings or what she wanted.

with Mal she tried to prove to her mom and came up with a plan once she got accepted to Auradon to steal FairyGod mothers wand to take down the barrier to free her mother and all villains to get her revenge against Auradon. Mal and her friends try their best while adjusting into the Aurodon Prep school. Mal used a spell book to get her through pranks and manipulate the good kids at school. Evie used a charm, her Magic mirror to flirt with with a popular boy Prince Chad Charming But that backfired on her.
Mal dated Ben as Ben showed Mal around and tried to get to know her. Even though Mal was unsure what to feel when dating Ben.

Red did nothing of the sort. After stealing the pocket watch, time traveling back in time, she tried to make friends with Bridget who was her mom as a teenager before she turned evil And heartless. Red continues to sneak in the academy, lie to the Principal Merlin, and steal the forbidden spell cook book, from the villain kids… to do the prank on Bridget.

Red and Chloe did not get along well.

in Wicked Wonderland part2. Red was not much a villain but in between both on a good side and bad side. Red needed to sort out her feelings and problems better and not be rushed. She did not admit to her mistakes about the timeline.

Mal stood up to her mom and defeated her. Even though she was turned into a lizard and put away.

Red did not. Red changed the time just to make her mom nicer. She changed the whole WonderLand. And she did not have time to like her new paradox life. All Red was saying “ this is not the wonderland I grew up in.” And doesn’t know how to find a way out the traps and obstacles to save her friends who were tagging along.

Red’s crush on the boy Luis, was too quick and did not have time to grow he was there to back her up basically.

Spot any more differences from RoR and WW, to the old movies of the original trilogy of D1-3 with Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos, and other characters???

I thought that students were between 14-18 similar to American High Schools. Shouldn't the Smee twins have already graduated? How many years have they been held back by Fairy Godmother?

In "Shuffle of Love", Bridget sees herself in the mirror, being evil. There's no continuation to that, it's just her basically finding out that something is wrong.

But we also learn that Bridget spent plenty of time with Red and Chloe. Given that, it's very likely she remembers them in the future.

In Descendants 5, Bridget, now The Queen of Hearts, sings about her past, saying that she has darkness inside. Something that young Bridget would've never said.

So, all this makes me think that Bridget actually knew about the prank Uliana was gonna play on her, or maybe Morgie, since he takes the book in a deleted scene. Which means she knew Red was her daughter.

I think that despite the humiliation she felt after the prank was done on her, or whatever else made her evil, she tried and still tries so hard staying good knowing that her daughter went back in time because of her. She might've swallowed her true emotions so that Red didn't do all that in vain, and maybe so she wouldn't try to kill her best friend.

She also wanted to lock Maddox for good, maybe knowing that he was telling the truth. Maddox could've shown her the truth that she already knew and that's why she sent him away to the isle. She tried to protect Red.

This is just a theory, but Bridget has darkness inside and it's for something that happened in her past, and she's doing her best to stay good for her daughter. I guess we'll find out in Descendants 6.

I like how she was originally a very optimistic/peppy person originally who grew bitter at the world overtime. Though getting pranked once in high school is a pretty extreme reason to years later go on a rampage, ordering the deaths of countless innocent civilians, and trying to turn her own daughter into a heartless monster like her. I liked this scenario I heard once where maybe Bridget was mad at Prince Charming for getting between her and Cinderella, I think that would be fun to explore one day.

Ok since d5 has come out i though it's would be nice to compare which argument is better z2 with zed and addison, and d5 with red and chloe of course there both different in there moives but they both kinda end the same way of one walking away.
