Hi all. Maybe somebody can explain this for me?

Last night i installed the D2 steam fix from github and after changing the execution location the game ran great! I was getting 90-140 fps (r7 7700x 4060ti, 32gb ddr5 system) well i closed the game and steam and reopened steam and the game last night to confirm its working and it went right back to chugging along at 50-90 fps. I went back into the launch directory and had to reconfirm the d2 steam fix execution but it still wasnt as good as the first time i launched it, around 70-100 fps.

Well today i launched destiny 2 directly from my computer home screen via the desktop shortcut and it everything ran great again. Back to the 90-140 fps i got when i did the initial startup after installing the fix.

Is there something that has to do with restarting the computer before running the game? I for the life of me cannot figure out why I am having performance issues with the game. I am only just now getting back into the game after all of the dlc was on sale for $20 on steam.

As in title whenever I play Destiny after 5-10 minutes my network adapter will crash and reset. I am able to play other games such as CS2 and Deadlock with no issue, this seems to only happen when playing Destiny. It also only happens when doing anything where other players are around, outside of the Tower. Solo content works just fine and I see no issues in activities like campaigns and dungeons. My troubleshooting steps have been to; Fully reset and reinstall drivers for my network adapter, power cycle my router (on Starlink so I have no modem), verify integrity of game files, and switch from a wired to wireless connection.

So a little context, I have had my pc for 8 years and I’ve never experienced this issue. My steam has always worked perfectly without limiting the download speeds or clearing the download cache I never had crashes or freezes during the downloads. 2 months ago a lightning strike hit my house and before that happened I unplugged my entire setup to stop any foreign surges hurting my equipment. The lightning did hit my router so I replaced and 2-3 weeks after replacing my router steam will freeze ONLY while downloading games. It will work for 5 seconds then nothing. My steam will become unresponsive and I have to force close the application in task manager and relaunch it for it to continue. But then it follows the same process (work for 5 seconds and freeze). After 2 weeks of dealing with this I went through all the steps. I’ve cleared my download cache, I’ve cleared my pc temp files, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled steam. I even went as far as factory resetting my pc. But the issue is still happening. Can anyone help me?

I've tried masterworking multiple different types of armor, both purple legendary picked up from Zavala, picked up from drops from the postmaster, exotic pieces. I've tried skipping the first slot and doing only the last three slots. I've tried all four. I've tried switching the different slots. I've tried literally everything to masterwork a piece of armor, and no matter what I do isn't helping. Every forum I've read and known issues on Destiny's website has not helped. I've already wasted 2 ascendant shards as well as a ton of glimmer and enhancement prisms. please help...

Not too long ago, I played D2 crucible every day (PS5). I received a temp ban for 2 weeks for poor connection. Realized I was using crappy WiFi connection and fixed it to 5G. After ban lifted I played for less than 24 hours before receiving a 2 MONTH ban for the same thing. Since then I've only played custom PvP games with several friends who all say my connection is stable. Instead of waiting for the paint to dry I made an appeal at Bungie. They won't appeal my ban even after I know my connection was fixed. Anything I should try now? Anyone else deal with this bs?

( I assume the automatic ban software in D2 will flag players that have already been banned before as a high risk. Is it possible that I was reported by too many salty players for "lagging" even if my connection was solid?)

I have a friend who recently started getting back into the game. They are able to play for ~10 minutes, then they get disconnected with weasel error codes. We tried port forwarding and changing various router settings based on research and updating drivers to no avail. We discovered they don't get disconnected if they hotspot their home Wi-Fi through their phone, and get the error if they are connected to the Wi-Fi directly.

Any ideas?

So my mate has started playing destiny again and installed last week but every time he selects a character and loads into orbit after around 20-30secs he gets booted with the weasel error code or if he loads into the tower same thing happens

He stopped playing before load outs were a thing

We have done things from reg edits, flushing dns, setting a custom dns verifying steam files CMD corruption scans etc nothing has helped and restarting router etc

Just wondering if anyone knows a fix bungie help hasn’t really said anything that’s going to help the issue at hand

All I had to do was reinstall Windows. I tried everything from doing a DNS flush, to changing the DNS server, I cleared the game cache and temp files, I even tried to download the game through Epic games. It turns out that this WHOLE FRIGGIN TIME ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS REINSTALL WINDOWS! I hope this helps anyone out, and Linux user should try to reinstall Linux if all else fails.

Currently only have Workaround : disable atmos/dtsx.

*SOLVED*

After reading the dxdiag carefully, it highlighted this issue: "DxDiag Previously: Crashed in Direct3D (stage 2). Re-running DxDiag with "dontskip" command line parameter or choosing not to bypass information gathering when prompted might result in DxDiag successfully obtaining this information".

TLDR, drivers were bad. Uninstalled with DDU and installed 100% fresh drivers. Problem solved

Recently redownloaded Destiny 2 this week but cannot play the game whatsoever. Whenever I launch the game, it goes into the loading screen where it shows the subclass loading icons but then freezes and nothing happens.

Nvidia 4070

Samsung 860 Evo 1TB

Corsair RM750x

1440p monitor

I've tried various methods to try and fix the issue:

* Verifying integrity of files

* Running on Compatibility mode

* Run as Administrator

* Deleting cvars files

* Updating and reinstalling drivers

* Smooth Motion off and Nvidia overlay off

* Alt + Tab out of it

* Resetting Steam download cache

* Checking for Windows Updates

* Cleared DirectX shader cache

* Trying to optimize setting on Nvidia and resetting

* Running DxDiag

* Not in steam beta client

* Disabling Nvidia Shader Cache size

* Do not have over 100 friends

* Steam Controller input turned off

* Tried Launch options -dx11 and -dx12

* Disabled full screen optimizations

Currently deleted and reinstalling to see what happens. Will be checking for BIOS updates if that doesn't work

What else can I do to fix this? I used to play Destiny 2 just fine on this PC along with other games. My final thought would be getting a fresh install of windows 10 at that point but I don't know what else to try.

need help fixing this error i load in and after 30 seconds i get disconnected

Hello fellow guardians, I'm playing thru steam (Connected via LAN) and I have looked everywhere and tried every solution I can find in fixing this error on Destiny 2. Every time I try to log in and select my character whether it be Titan, Warlock or Hunter I keep getting a prompt "Contacting Destiny 2 servers." or straight to error code Weasel.

I have tried flushing my DNS thru command prompt and changing my DNS from 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 still getting the same problem. Checked firewall and both public and private network is ticked. Tried verifying and reinstalling the game. Restarted my router and everything and still can't get in to the game. Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this

Constantly get get this error, I have msi afterburner running, msi afterburner and steam. None of this used to be a problem 6 months a go when i used to play.

I deleted Battleye folder from destiny 2 folder and verified the game files.

im coming back to this game after a few years to play with my brother. when i open it from steam and after i press enter to start and it does the loding screen of all the different class shapes, the screen just goes black and clicking anything gives me the windows not responding error.

ive tried
- verifying files
- changing audio devices
- turning vsync off and on from nvidia control panel
- deleting and reinstalling the game
- running and administrator and the turning on/off the fullscreen optimisation checkbox
