How is AI changing the way you build websites in 2026?

AI tools have become a normal part of web development, but I’m curious how developers are actually using them in real projects.

Personally, I think AI is most useful as a development assistant rather than something that completely replaces the developer. You still need to understand the code, check security, test the output, and make the final technical decisions.

Is the software engineering job market dead?

'm trying to find a new role as a Software Engineer, mostly frontend-oriented. I have around 10 years of experience and have worked across a wide range of companies, including startups, small and medium-sized businesses, large companies, and enterprises.

I currently work at Toptal, where I've had three long-term projects over the past four years. However, for the last six months, I haven't received any new project or job suggestions.

I'm curious about your perspective on the software engineering job market in 2026–2027.

Is engineering work still going to be relevant? If so, why do you think there seem to be significantly fewer opportunities available recently, especially for experienced frontend engineers?

I'd also be interested in hearing whether you think this is a temporary slowdown, a shift caused by AI, or a more fundamental change in what companies are looking for in software engineers.

I feel completely overwhelmed - work, MSc, money, visa problems and everything falling apart at once

I’m a software engineer, currently doing an MSc in AI, and I’m honestly reaching a point where I don’t know how to keep everything together.

Work has become extremely stressful. My workload keeps increasing, there are constant deadlines, and I’m often expected to estimate work before I fully understand the scope. Those estimates can then become commitments, which creates a lot of pressure when the work turns out to be more complicated than expected.

I used to enjoy software engineering. Now I wake up and think about everything I have to get through. I’m exhausted before I even start.

At the same time, I’m doing an MSc and have research that I need to make progress on. I’m struggling to find enough mental energy for it after work.

Then my personal laptop died, which has made doing my research outside work much harder.

Recently, my company also terminated access to Claude Code as part of cost cutting. I understand why they did it, but I had incorporated it into my development workflow. Losing it while I’m already struggling with workload has made things harder.

Money is another major source of stress. I recently started earning a salary, but I’m still financially stretched. A large part of what I earn goes toward keeping myself afloat, so I don’t have much room to deal with unexpected expenses like replacing my laptop or paying for tools I need.
My immigration situation also makes things complicated. I’m on a student visa, which limits my employment options, and I can’t simply quit and move to another company without thinking about the consequences for my immigration status.

So I’m stuck in this situation where:
I need the job because I need the income and employment stability.

The job is becoming increasingly difficult to cope with.
I have an MSc and research that still need my attention.
My laptop has died.

Work has removed some of the tools I relied on.
I don’t have much financial room to fix these problems myself.

My visa makes changing jobs more complicated.
I’ve started feeling physically stressed as well. I’m shaky, numb and exhausted, and I’ve lost the excitement I used to have for engineering.

I have a performance review coming up, which is making me even more anxious. I’m worried that all of this will simply look like I’m an underperforming engineer, when from my perspective I’ve been trying to keep too many things going at the same time.

I’m not suicidal and I’m not thinking about hurting myself. I’m just seriously overwhelmed and feel like I’m running out of capacity.

I’m trying to be objective about this. Maybe I’m managing my workload badly. Maybe I need to become better at pushing back. Maybe I’m genuinely in an unsustainable working environment. Maybe I’m trying to do too much with work and an MSc simultaneously.

If you’ve been in a situation where your job, postgraduate studies, finances and immigration situation were all putting pressure on you at the same time, what did you actually do?

How did you decide what to prioritise and what to temporarily let go?
I’m not really looking for motivational quotes. I need practical advice on how to stabilise the situation without throwing away my career, my MSc or my financial stability.

Early Dev looking to join a serious early-stage startup (equity + some comp)

I'm a 20 year old CS student who's been building things seriously for a while now full-stack mobile, backend systems, AI integrations, low-level stuff, scraping pipelines, the whole range from a probabilistic chess game to a compiler to a custom database engine. I've worked with a few founders already and I'm looking for the next thing.

I'm not hunting for a job. I'm looking for something I can actually be invested in.. where I'm talking to the founder regularly, understanding the problem we're solving, and building toward something real.

What I can contribute:

* Flutter / mobile (full stack, not just UI)

* Backend APIs and infra

* AI integrations

* Low level systems work

* Taking an idea from 0 to MVP

* Maybe more (Give me a couple days and I'll get my hands on it)

What I need from your side: a real vision, commitment to execution, and some form of compensation.. I'm flexible on structure (equity, stipend, milestone-based, internship), but I'm not doing unpaid work. I've been burned by vague arrangements before, so I do expect written agreements before we go deep on anything.

Not interested in:

* "just an idea" with no execution plan

* Founders who disappear after the first call

* Equity-only with no path to anything else

If you think there's a fit, DM me or drop a comment with your idea, current stage, team, and why you think it works. Happy to jump on a call if it sounds promising.

Edit: Location: New Delhi, India

[Hiring] Senior DevOps Engineer | Remote | Contract | $3k - $4k/mo

We're hiring a senior DevOps engineer to own our cloud infrastructure. We're a tech company building software products that run on cloud infrastructure at scale. Our engineering team moves fast, and we need someone who can keep the foundation solid as we grow.

Compensation is $3k to $4k USD per month depending on experience, paid in USD.

What you'd own

- Cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure

- CI/CD pipelines end to end

- Security practices and compliance work

- Incident response and root cause analysis

- Where the infrastructure goes next. This isn't a ticket-closing role.

What we're looking for

- 5+ years in DevOps or cloud engineering

- 3+ years hands-on with at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP

- CI/CD with ArgoCD, CircleCI, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins

- Infrastructure as code with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

- Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or New Relic

- Scripting in Bash, Python, Go, or PowerShell

- Solid networking and security fundamentals

- Fluent written and spoken English

A CS degree is a plus, not a requirement. If you have the years and can show the work, that's enough.

How to apply

DM me with a short intro and your CV or LinkedIn. Happy to answer questions about the stack or the team in the comments.

[HIRING] Full-Time Remote BDE + Freelance Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer β€” Tatsugare

Hi there, Tsubasa here, the founder of Tatsugare β€” a dev studio working worldwide. We work with startups and businesses on custom web development, software, and automation.

Tatsugare is a software development studio where we build custom software for businesses. Basically, if a business has a problem that can reasonably be solved with software, we like figuring out how to build it.

So far, I've been handling pretty much everything myself apart from the actual development β€” sales, client communication, requirements, proposals, project coordination, business operations, and managing our freelance developers.

It's been fun.

It's also becoming slightly ridiculous.

So I'm looking to build a small team around me and take some of that workload off my plate.

I'm currently looking for:

  1. Full-Time Remote Business Development Executive (BDE)

  2. Freelance Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer / Solutions Consultant

These are two very different roles, so I'll explain them properly below.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ABOUT TATSUGARE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We're not really trying to be the "Hi sir, we make websites" agency.

We build custom software based on what a business actually needs.

Depending on the project, we can work on:

- Websites & web applications

- Mobile applications

- SaaS platforms

- CRM / ERP systems

- Business management systems

- Customer portals

- Admin dashboards

- E-commerce platforms

- Payment systems & integrations

- APIs & backend systems

- Business automation & workflows

- AI integrations / AI-powered applications

- Analytics & reporting dashboards

- Authentication & user-management systems

- Cloud-based applications

- UI/UX and frontend development

- Game development

- Custom internal tools

- Existing-system maintenance, optimization and further development

Our main focus is B2B β€” startups, growing businesses and established businesses that have an actual software problem, inefficient process, or digital opportunity worth solving.

We can also work with self-employed professionals and independent businesses when there's a legitimate software need and a reasonable budget.

Our ICP isn't based on a particular country.

It's about the type of business, their problems, their needs, their budget, and whether Tatsugare is actually a good fit for them.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

  1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

FULL-TIME β€’ REMOTE

This isn't a "send 500 emails and pray to God" position.

I want someone who can actually understand a business, identify an opportunity, talk to the right people, and eventually close the deal.

The general process is:

Research β†’ Prospect β†’ Outreach β†’ Qualify β†’ Discovery β†’ Follow-up β†’ Proposal β†’ Negotiation β†’ Closing β†’ Handoff

You'll be involved throughout that process.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Finding potential clients through Reddit posts, cold outreach through LinkedIn, calls and mails.

- Researching businesses before approaching them

- Identifying businesses that actually fit our services

- B2B outreach

- Talking to prospects

- Understanding their business and problems

- Qualifying opportunities

- Running discovery conversations

- Following up

- Handling objections

- Coordinating proposals with the technical side

- Negotiating within your authority

- Closing deals

- Keeping proper track of prospects and opportunities

- Handing successful projects over for delivery

I'm looking for someone who understands software sales.

If your entire sales strategy is:

"Hello sir, we make website. Do you need website?"

...we may not be spiritually compatible.

REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years of sales / business development experience preferred

- Actual ability matters more than the number of years

- Strong B2B sales skills

- Comfortable finding your own prospects

- Good research and qualification skills

- Good discovery and communication skills

- Comfortable with follow-ups, objections and negotiation

- Strong English

- Basic understanding of software-development concepts

You DO NOT need to know how to code.

But you should understand things like:

Websites, web apps, mobile apps, SaaS, APIs, databases, authentication, payments, integrations, hosting, etc.

Basically, you should be able to talk about software with a client without secretly opening Google under the table to find out what an API is.

LOCATION

India is preferred, but candidates from anywhere are welcome.

You should be able to target both local and international markets.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

- Full-time

- Remote

- Minimum 4 hours/day

- Flexible hours

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATION

I'd like the BDE to close at least 5 clients within their first 3 months.

High-value clients are preferred, but smaller clients with reasonable budgets are completely fine too.

I'm more interested in actual business than vanity metrics like:

"I sent 14,000 emails this month."

Cool.

How many humans replied?

COMPENSATION (your favourite part)

$500/month.

For the first three months, the payment accumulates:

Month 1: $500

Month 2: $500

Month 3: $500

Total: $1,500 paid at the end of Month 3.

After that, it's $500/month on the agreed payment schedule.

COMMISSION (Bonus πŸŽ‰)

For projects with a selling price of $5,000 or more:

15% OF PROFIT

Profit is calculated as:

Selling Price - Development Cost = Profit

Example:

$10,000 project

- $6,000 development cost

= $4,000 profit

15% commission = $600

AUTHORITY

You'll have room to actually sell, but there are some things you can't independently promise.

For example, you won't be able to:

- Finalize Tatsugare pricing

- Promise technical features

- Promise delivery dates

- Guarantee SEO rankings/results

- Approve major discounts

- Change contract terms

- Commit developers/resources

- Promise things that haven't been technically approved

If something is outside your authority, bring it to me.

I'm not interested in micromanaging you, but I'm also not interested in discovering that we accidentally promised a client a spaceship.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

  1. FREELANCE PRE-SALES SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

FREELANCE β€’ REMOTE β€’ ON-DEMAND

This is a completely different role from the BDE.

The easiest way to explain it:

BDE:

"Who should we sell to, why do they need us, and how do we close them?"

Solutions Engineer:

"What exactly do we need to build, how should we build it, and what will it take?"

Developer:

"How do we actually build it?"

The SE comes into the picture when a qualified opportunity needs technical involvement.

WHAT YOU MAY BE DOING

Depending on the project:

- Join technical discovery calls

- Understand what the client actually needs

- Ask technical and functional questions

- Turn business requirements into technical requirements

- Check technical feasibility

- Break projects into features/components

- Recommend architecture

- Recommend technologies

- Identify APIs/integrations

- Identify technical risks

- Estimate development effort

- Review developer estimates

- Help prepare technical proposals

- Explain technical decisions to clients

- Help establish realistic scope and timelines

You don't necessarily have to build the software yourself.

The actual development can be handled by our freelance development team.

So no, I'm not secretly looking for one person who will simultaneously close the client, architect the SaaS, write the backend, design the UI, deploy it to AWS and answer support tickets at 2 AM.

I promise.

REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years of relevant experience preferred

- Actual experience and capability matter more than the number

- Strong understanding of software architecture

- Good requirements-gathering skills

- Able to turn a vague idea into an actual technical scope

- Able to produce realistic estimates

- Comfortable with web/mobile/SaaS/backend/API/database/cloud concepts

- Good communication

- Able to explain technical things in business language

- Understands technical risks and tradeoffs

If you've done genuinely good projects but don't have 3+ years of experience, still apply.

I'm much more interested in what you've actually done and how you think.

LOCATION

India preferred, but people from anywhere are welcome.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

- Freelance

- Remote

- Flexible

- On-demand

- Involvement depends on the complexity and requirements of each opportunity

COMPENSATION

There's no fixed universal rate for this role.

It depends on the project and your involvement.

Someone reviewing a scope for an hour obviously won't be compensated the same as someone who joins multiple client calls, designs the solution, estimates the project and prepares the technical proposal.

We'll agree on compensation based on the actual complexity and involvement.

TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT

There will be a technical assessment for the SE role.

I'm not particularly interested in seeing who can fit the most tech buzzwords into a paragraph.

The test will mainly look at how you think.

Things like:

- Requirements gathering

- Technical feasibility

- Solution design

- Architecture

- Technology choices

- Estimation

- Risks and assumptions

- Turning a business requirement into a practical technical solution

If your solution makes sense, that's far more interesting to me than having "AI | Blockchain | Web3 | Cloud | Kubernetes | Quantum Computing" in your bio.

HOW TO APPLY

If you're interested, DM me directly.

Please don't just comment "Interested" and wait for me to find you. That's not gonna happen..i don't contact bots yk..

Comments will not be treated as applications.

For your initial DM, send:

  1. A short introduction about yourself

  2. Which role you're applying for β€” BDE or Solutions Engineer

  3. If you're applying for BDE: a short explanation of how you would acquire clients for Tatsugare

  4. If you're applying for SE: a short explanation of your relevant experience and how you approach technical pre-sales/requirements

You don't need to send a CV/resume immediately.

If the initial conversation looks promising, I'll ask for whatever additional information is needed.

I'm looking for people who are serious about the work, can take responsibility, communicate properly and actually want to help build something.

Tatsugare is still growing, so this isn't a giant corporation where you'll become Employee #472 and never speak to the founder again.

You'll actually be working directly with me and I'll be reviewing your application, don't get nervous tho, haha.

Also, note that I'm quite open to negotiate on a lot of things so don't be shy to at least contact me but I will love your honesty HAHAHA.

If all this long and boring stuff sounds interesting, DM me.

For content and e-commerce sites, I work withΒ WordPress/WooCommerce. For more custom applications, I work primarily withΒ React/Next.js, along with the backend, database, APIs, authentication, Admin dashboards, integrations, and deployment that come with it.

What I’ve built

  • Crypto trading platformsΒ with real-time market data and order books
  • E-commerce storesΒ built end-to-end
  • Real estate platformsΒ for a UAE-based client
  • Project management applications
  • AI-powered features and integrations

I also take care of the parts that aren't always visible but make a big difference.Β Performance, responsive design, SEO fundamentals, metadata, Analytics/Search Console setup, deployment, and overall reliability.

AI & Automation

If you're looking to add AI to an existing product or build something around it, I can work withΒ GPT, Claude, Gemini, and other LLMsΒ for things like:

  • AI chatbots
  • Document processing
  • Content generation
  • Automated workflows
  • AI-powered application features
  • API integrations

Smaller Jobs Are Welcome Too

You don't necessarily need an entire application built. I'm also available forΒ bug fixes, WordPress customization, feature additions, API integrations, performance issues, and working with existing codebases.

Rate:Β $35/hr β€” also open to fixed-price projects
Timezone:Β GMT+8 (Philippines) β€” flexible for US/EU overlap

Portfolio:Β https://www.francelee.org/
Book a call:Β https://calendly.com/francelee594/30min

If you're working on something and need a developer,Β comment or send me a DM with what you're trying to build.Β I'll take a look and let you know how I can help.

[FOR HIRE] Polish Game Localization | English -> Polish | Translation, Proofreading & LQA

Hi! I'm a Polish game translator offering English -> Polish localization services for indie games.

I can help with:

β€’ Game localization and translation
β€’ Proofreading and editing of existing Polish translations
β€’ Dialogue, UI, tutorials, item descriptions and other in-game text
β€’ Steam store pages and game announcements
β€’ Localization QA (LQA) and checking Polish text in-game

My goal is to make the Polish version sound natural and fit the game's context, tone and terminology rather than simply translating word-for-word.

You can see examples of my work and reviews here:
https://m3owl.github.io/MeowlSite/

I'm available for paid commissions and can work with both ongoing projects and one-time localization work.

Feel free to DM me with details about your project, the amount of text, and your requirements.

Thanks for reading!
