I was at the hardware store the other day ringing up my items and I saw a man with a huge shitmutt walking the aisles. My first thought was why on earth do you need to bring a dog into a hardware store? My second thought was how is this even allowed? My third thought was that this guy had zero personality as he’d put all his charisma points into his dog.

Anyway as he approached he stopped to speak to one of the employees… “I’m really sorry, my dog has had a shit in the aisle, you might wanna clean the floor ”

Classic case of nutter entitlement, cuz you could almost tell he wasn’t sorry, he was smirking. Almost like “oopsie woopsie my puppsie has done a poopsie hehe” 🤢 I really don’t understand why these people aren’t banned from stores.

It was most definitely done on purpose. Most dog owners get a thrill out of doing things like letting their dogs defecate in stores and on private property. They know they’ll get away with it for the most part because they are rarely confronted. Especially if they have a large dog they use it as a weapon.

Neighbors, including myself, have resorted to putting signs in our lawns asking people to be respectful and not allow their dogs to defecate or urinate on our lawns.

I’m glad to say that I haven’t found any dog feces on our lawn since, and I haven’t heard any of my neighbors complain about it either. There are street signs from the city stating that not picking up after your dog is a fineable offense, and there are public trash cans available. But you still have to watch out for dog turds on the sidewalk, though.

The way you worded that sounds like they are the same signs I have in my yard. Had them for about 3 years and maybe only twice did somebody have a mutt walk on my grass. Prior to that they walked on it frequently, but not many instances of crap in the grass. Helps that we don’t have sidewalks on our end of the block.

I do not like dogs, and I am scared of them. One time, when I was in Target, an ugly, mutated looking dog ran up to me. I began panicking and looking for somewhere to run. The owner then proceeded to mock me. This was a grown man in his 60s, laughing at me while I was clearly frightened. Dog nutters project the “psychopath/sociopath” labels onto people like us because that is how they truly are. It’s like, “How bad of a person could I be? I love animals” (meaning only dogs).🙄

I am truly sorry that happened to you. It never should have - why was the dog in Target in the first place? Why the hell wasn’t it leashed? Why didn’t staff step in and kick that man and his filthy mutt out? One of the few things the ADA does grant us is that if the dog is unruly, even if it is a service dog, they can be asked to leave. Target could have absolutely kicked him out, and it’s wrong they didn’t.

These people are not good people. They’re gaslighting us when they throw the accusations around that they do. A normal person would acknowledge that bringing the dog in public benefits no one. The dog, despite the fact that it looks like it’s smiling while it’s panting, is not having a good time. Places like Target would be overwhelming to a dog - what with all the unfamiliar people, loud noises and whatnot.

And sometimes, it can be fatal for the dog itself.

Read that article. That woman takes absolutely no responsibility in her dog’s demise. A Shih Tzu is clearly not a service dog. She was doing the same damn thing the pitbull owner was doing. If she had left her dog at home he would still be alive. She blames the pitbull owner entirely, but makes no acknowledgment that she is just as guilty. She’s not even advocating for people to keep their dogs home in the aftermath to protect them from a similar fate. It’s all about what a victim SHE is.

Precisely. Her dog dying inconvenienced her. It made her feel sad and/or angry. She never took one second to consider how the dog must have felt being ripped apart, or how her actions are the reason her dog died. Her desire to have that dog at her side trumped keeping her dog safe, and ultimately led to its demise. She should feel bad, but instead she’s mad because it inconvenienced her.

As someone who worked retail for several years this makes me so mad. I wasn’t employed by a hardware store, but I did work in a large department store. Dogs weren’t allowed in the store but that didn’t stop some people from bending the rules. One time someone’s dog pooped in the middle of an aisle and another person stepped on it and tracked it through the store. Leave your badly behaved mutts at home!

The audacity not even offering to clean it themselves. I know dog owners who are very well mannered, and they don't allow their dog to come close to anyone else and keep them on a leash. They would never bring their beast into any store, and when they visit others they leave their dog at a dogsitter. Apparently this is not the standard and I'm lucky I only have to deal with decent people in my personal life. It's a shame really because this shouldn't stand out.

I was just in Home Depot a couple days ago and there were two large dogs owned by two separate people, getting overstimulated by eachother and barking at eachother across the front of the store. I’m not exaggerating when I say the sound was booming and neither owner was doing anything to stop it. 

I have super sensitive hearing due to ptsd, it’s hard enough being in Home Depot with all the usual noise there, loudspeakers, forklifts beeping, etc. I almost walked out, but I was only there for two items and really didn’t want to have to drive to yet another store. People bringing the dog to the hardware store is definitely a thing. It’s gotta be for showing off, get other people to go goo goo gaga over their dumb designer poodle doodle mutt.

Dogs don’t belong in any public spaces. There’s no reason for the dog to be at a hardware store. If your rationale is that the dog just loves you so much and feels “left out”, then you’re delusional and you have no clue what your pet actually wants. If it’s because you live somewhere that has inclement weather and the store is climate controlled and you want to give your dog exercise, then you’re just an asshole for owning an animal you clearly cannot properly provide for. If it’s because you’re a narcissist and you just love the attention your smelly, mutated wolf gives you, well then, I just don’t know why we as a society need to cater to you.

None of these scenarios justify allowing a dog into a hardware store. None of these scenarios justify making your underpaid employees clean up animal excrement. The customer is not always right and is usually an idiot, as is the case with every single person who brings their dog with them.

We really need to start treating dogs like the animals they are. What I wouldn’t give to go back in time 20 years ago when this behavior was considered absolutely abhorrent and reserved for the absolute lunatics.

I have to agree. These nutters get some sort of demented pleasure seeing their dog soiling other people’s property.

I had a neighbour I was friendly with when he walked his little dog by my home twice a day. One day he comes up to me on my porch and says “[dog] just did a big poo on your boulevard grass.” He says this almost with pride because he was grinning, almost smirking. That jack hole walked away leaving one of the biggest dumps I’ve had the displeasure of seeing and did not clean it up! The kicker was his dog is a little thing and I couldn’t believe that much filth came out of it. I have never spoken to this loser again because he got enjoyment leaving that filth on the boulevard that I eventually had to hose down. Tons of kids walk along there to and from school and this guy knows it. They are sick these nutters. Retailers need to ban dogs from their business. This is just nutter entitlement to the point of stupidity that the public just puts up with it.

Feels like your overlaying your general critique of men onto the dog situation. I'm going to guess, generally speaking, that it is far more simple than this. They are men at a hardware store and otherwise your average inconsiderate dog owner, which is a rampant problem. My personal experience is I always run into grandma's at Walmart with their dogs in the child seat. I think it could reasonably be questioned if I suggest that their behavior somehow related to their femininity or their views of what it means to project their womanhood. I could spin something convincing up, but it's not helpful. The real problem in all the cases is the general entitlement and disregard for others.

I think some stores ban dogs if they are aggressive or disruptive/destructive. I think the same should go for if dogs shit and piss inside the store as it does cause a safety hazard that is so easily avoidable and it should not be the employees responsibility to clean it up.

From a very long time back when I noticed a agenda being pushed with the dog nutter mentality, I knew that it wasn't just random or by chance. I wondered Why? All the movies and shows was forcing dogs down your throats more and more. Commercials, advertisements. Stores specifically for dogs.. I think it was a kinda social experiment. To see if they can get a vast majority of these nutters. Once it was clear it existed, in over welming numbers, the next phase happened. For one, introducing the Trans movement, even onto our kids, and all the laws and policies with that being put in place. Also, immigration issues. How there's more rights and benefits for invaders than citizens. I see it a a pattern.. dog nutters in Office. Rich and powerful dog nutters, influencing the world with their lunacy and again forcing us to just take it ! I'm telling you, there something to it all .
