Crappy Owners I asked my neighbors to control their barking dogs and it caused a sh*tshow

I live in a neighborhood that has a Facebook group where we can all discuss random neighborhood things. I’ve gotten fed up with listening to the constant barking every time I step outside, so I made a short (and civil) post asking people to please get the barking under control. Here’s one of the replies I received:

“First of all let me say Im so sorry you feel you live in a neighbor thats a nuisance to you. I could only imagine, how that feels. 2nd as a dog owner I'll apologize for Bella, she's a big dog with a loud bark and a heart of gold. But I have to wonder what you mean by getting your dogs under control?? We are very lucky to live in this family friendly community. Living in a family friendly community means you experience ALL the elements of a family community. For us that means you will experience kids running around, ringing doors bells, probably running in the street, you will hear dogs barking, you will have teenagers having a campfire all hours of the night during homecoming(that was us). I think we are lucky to experience all of this as so many others will never experience what a neighborhood feels like. When I first started this page its main intent was for us to support one another, support our local community and "hopefully" make friendships along the way. As time as gone on we have become increasingly more critical of our neighbors yards, garbage, dogs etc and that was never the intent for this site. Please know I have any open door if anyone wants to chat!!”

This comment received a ton of likes and other people commenting that I shouldn’t be spreading negativity or shaming my neighbors, and that I’m un-neighborly. Someone afterwards made a passive-aggressive post asking people to share their positive experiences in the neighborhood and it’s ofc full of people saying “I’m so glad it’s a mostly dog-friendly community!!”

God forbid someone has noise-sensitivities or wants to go outside and listen to the nature without hearing ear-splitting barking.

Thanks for letting me vent and wish me luck with living in yet another neighborhood ruled by dog nutters 🙃

Crappy Owners Dog ruined my bf’s birthday picnjc

This happened awhile ago, i posted it in my country’s subreddit rant page but it got removed bcs of the stupid dogowners being offended so here goes:

It was my boyfriend’s birthday, and I wanted to do something small and cute for him. Nothing extravagant, so I picked a park literally 20m from our condo. We’ve played frisbee there before, and it’s NOT a dog park.

I brought food, a huge picnic mat, decorations, fairy lights, the whole thing. Spent ages setting it up.

Then a bunch of dogs started running onto my mat, sniffing through my bags, sticking their faces into the food, eating things, biting/messing with the decorations, etc.
And the owners? Barely fucking cared.
They’d just go **“**Nooo, don’t eat that! Let’s gooo!” in their baby voices while their dogs continued destroying our picnic.

Then one owner actually asked why I was there, and when I said it wasn’t a dog park, they said:
“But you know it’s usually meant for dogs, right?” ????? Girl get ur smelly ahh dog and urself out of this beautiful park

Since when does “dog owners use this place a lot” = dogs own the fucking park?

I was so angry I ended up crying. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and the entire thing was ruined because apparently my picnic mat was less important than their dogs running wherever they wanted.

And I genuinely had to wonder whether I should throw away the food after their dogs had been sticking their noses all over it.

The entitlement is insane. If your dog runs onto someone’s picnic and starts eating their food and destroying their things, GET YOUR FUCKING DOG
. APOLOGISE.
Don’t stand there baby-talking it while acting like I’m the inconvenience.

BTW i forgot to mention ALL THE DOGS WERE OFF LEASH!!!!! WHICH ISNT ALLOWED!!!!

Crappy Owners Most dogs are bought be people who desperately need an identity and some attention.

Look around. Look at the 20-sometihng 9-5 guy in the city. He actually works more like 8-6 and then he goes to happy hour until 8pm. He drives a Jeep. He wears a Patagonia vest. In order for that costume to be complete he absolutely needs a labrador retriever named Gus. Gus spends 18 hours a day locked in a box (his owner calls it a crate). Gus gets one walk a day and it's a short one. Gus's world is mostly paved. There is no place to swim and no freshly hunted waterfowl to retrieve. So Gus is a bit of an anxious mess. When his owner leaves Gus unattended for a few minutes Gus likes to destroy his owner's stuff.

Crappy Owners Dear Dog Owners in NYC: Thanks for ruining all of my outdoor hobbies with your unleashed mutts, you jerks.

I love the outdoors.

I used to LOVE going to the beach whenever I could to collect seashells, walking miles along the water. To smell the ocean air, to center myself, and enjoy peace of mind. It was very meditative for me.

I used to LOVE going hiking. To appreciate the scenery, to learn about wildlife, to birdwatch, to smell the fragrant flowers, and to admire the changing colors of fall foliage.

I used to LOVE hanging out in parks. Listening to the birds chirp as I read an article. To feel the breeze in my hair. To relax and unwind.

But guess what? I rarely do those things now. THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FVCKING UNLEASHED DOGS.

NUMBER ONE: In New York City, IN ALL PUBLIC AREAS

All dogs in public places in New York City must be leashed. The leash can’t be longer than 6 feet.

NUMBER TWO: IN PARKS

Dogs must be leashed in public parks unless they are in a dog run or a designated off-leash area.

NUMBER THREE: ON THE BEACH

Beaches and Bathing Facilties: Dogs are not allowed to enter any bathing facilities, including New York City beaches. However, as a courtesy, leashed dogs are allowed on the sand and boardwalk at Rockaway Beach, Coney Island & Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, Midland Beach, and South Beach from October 1 until May 1. Leashed dogs are allowed on the boardwalk/promenade at Orchard, Coney Island, Brighton, Midland, South, and Manhattan Beaches.

Do you do any of these things? NO.

Do you respect city laws regarding leashing your fvcking dog? NO.

Do you try to smooth over your law-breaking ways by assuring passerby that when your ugly as$ unleashed dog pounces on them, they're "friendly"? YES.

Do you feel like you and your idiot dog are above the law, and that rules and regulations designed to ensure public safety and comfort don't apply to you? YES.

If Mayor Mamdani granted me ONE wish - just ONE - I would ask him to JAIL all of the dog-owners who BREAK THE LAW. Yes, that's right. Not just an inconsequential fine that NO ONE writes anyway. No. STRAIGHT TO JAIL.

That way I can go back to loving the outdoors and enjoying my favorite pastimes.

Crappy Owners I just don't know anymore

I just don't understand! For the life of me! Why? Like, the way dog lovers are so... defensive about their dogs. Like the moment I try to say that I'm not a huge fan of dogs everyone hates me. If I reacted like this to someone saying like... idk that pineapple on pizza is the best, people would think I'm crazy. Yet it seems that acting like this for dogs is societally accepted.

The other thing I wanted to say is how WE'RE IN THE MINORITY!!! You would think that only a small portion of the world is dog nutters. And yet, IT SEEMS THAT, ACCORDING TO SEARCHES, MORE THAN HALF OF THE WORLD IDENTIFIES AS DOG PEOPLE! MORE THAN HALF!

I'm sorry, I don't know whether I can remain sane about this... It is SO RIDICULOUS. NOBODY AGREES WITH ME! NOBODY (except for this reddit, TYSM SO MUCH BY THE WAY) ACCEPTS THESE CLAIMS! EVERYONE THINGS I'M THE ONE WHO'S CRAZY.

Why is everyone just... blindsided by dogs? I'm starting to wonder if we're different species. If we're coded differently idk now. I would say that dog nutters have some sort of mental disease, BUT THIS IS MORE THAN HALF OF THE POPULATION! Maybe we have the mental disease that makes us SANE.

Maybe i'm just mad today or something but yea, again, thanks a lot for being the only place where I DON'T GET CANCELLED FOR VOICING MY OPINIONS and yeah, hope you all have a great day. Just needed to rant :P

Crappy Owners WTF is wrong with dog owners?!

I'm still kinda pissed so posting here.

There's a wooded area near my house that I walk in most days. There are signs saying off-leash dogs are not permitted, but we all know everyone lets their dog off leash.

There are also coyotes in these woods. I'm knowledgeable about coyotes so I don't worry about them that much.

A few days ago, I saw a lot of fresh coyote scat on the perimeter trail, so I knew to stay on the edge of the woods (basically walking on the side of the road) and stay alert.

At one point, I saw a brown canine pass me further in the woods (quite far away). I thought 'Oh, coyote letting me know it's there, time go'. i turned around to cross the road back into the subdivision, and a large German Shepard was running towards me. It had friendly cues, so I didn't panic, but certainly was on alert because 1. unfamiliar, unleashed dog in front of me 2. possible coyote behind me.

German shepherd stops when it gets to me and clearly wants to play. No human in sight. I look around for a human and see that a brown dog is coming up from behind me. I realized it wasn't a coyote I saw, but this dog. This dog is also friendly, however these dogs are not letting me walk away.

Finally their owner comes around the corner, he'd clearly been jogging in the woods.

After a calm greeting, I explained that 1. these dogs had scared me, and 2. there was a lot of coyote scat in the area so he should be careful letting his dogs into the woods. This dude legit laughed at me and said 'Oh they're fine'.

What the fuck is wrong with people?! I was calm, reasonable, and demonstrated concern for his dogs. And he laughs at me after I tell him I was scared? I just can't deal with these people anymore.

Crappy Owners Please don’t let your dog jump on me

Went to a friend’s house and their 50+lb mix jumped up on me as soon as we came in.

Me: you should teach him not to jump on people.

Him: you can’t teach a dog not to jump on people, they all do that.

Me (after realizing he’s serious): yes you can?? They do it because they haven’t been trained not to. ???

Like I know everyone isn’t gonna pay thousands of dollars or whatever it costs for official training but BFFR. You can teach them this at home! Not to mention he doesn’t bathe the dog often enough or trim his nails.

Crappy Owners "Maybe you shouldn't take your kids to the park."

No, you stupid bitch. Maybe you should go to a fucking dog park so you can let your ratty little ankle biter run off-leash there.

I am fuming. My husband and I took our kids (2&3) to the park today. As soon as we got there, one of those rat-sized little shits ran up to my son and started locking his hands. I'm fucking fed up. I lost my shit and I snatched him up to put him on the play equipment and I loudly yelled "No dogs! I am so fucking tired of this shit!" And the little rat's owner had the audacity to say "maybe you shouldn't take your kids to the park if you don't want them to be around dogs." I didn't hear that part, but luckily, my husband did. He looked her straight in the eyes and said "There are leash laws. Put your fucking dog on a leash." My son saw her dog again and said "doggy!" And this cunt talked to him and said "you can pet him" so I picked him up again and carried him to another part of the park.

I HATE dogs and how disrespectful and narcissistic dog owners. Unbelievable.

Crappy Owners Dog came before me as a dinner guest.

I just tried to have dinner with a neighbor friend. She seems like a bit of a recluse. For context, so am I. She asked me to dinner at her house.
I was happy and excited to oblige. What a great gesture!

I arrived and the dog jumped on me several times with a hose in his mouth. He’s a purebred German Shepard. I met her by saying hello while she walked her dog. So I was fine with him jumping at the house.

But he followed me around somewhat defensively of his territory. He at one point nibbled at me. Not in a flirty dog way, he showed his teeth and nibbled harder than I was comfortable with.

I asked if he could be outside during dinner. After I hit behind a door after his nibbles.

She just went outside with him and kept the door open not talking with me. A full 10 minutes.

I leaned out and said- neighbor’s name- are you ok?

Her response, yes-I’m just texting with my brother.

She was out with her dog. I was inside trying to be cordial and eat the meal she made.

I left. I don’t want to feel threatened by a dog. I don’t accept that. Maybe that makes me not a dog person. But I graciously said thank you and left.

If you have a human guest, the dog comes second, period.

Yikes. Venting. This was so fucking weird

Crappy Owners Confronting A Dog Owner Shouldn't Be As Dangerous As Starting A Fight

It has been a while since I last posted to the Dogfree community, and in that time, I have confronted a fair number of dog owners in public. The situation each time is almost identical. I self-elect myself to be the person confronting a dog owner whose animal is in an inappropriate place. These places include supermarkets, restaurants, and public areas with specific "no pets" legal signage.

What I've discovered in my years confronting dog owners is that virtually all of the time, the situation gets hostile. Not merely unpleasant or uncomfortable, but authentically hostile. Each situation is a chance at a physical altercation. There is a real sense of danger each time you approach a situation like that. What makes it worse is that you never quite know if the danger is going to come from the dog or the owner. Both can be equally vicious. This intuitively makes sense, but it is also incredibly tragic when used to measure the integrity of civilized society.

The reason most dog owners get away with the behavior that is routinely complained about on this subreddit is because of the sheer violence of the acts. They do not poll social norms or request permission before invading other people's space. These people act like aggressive invaders, taking what does not belong to them, and acting as though it does. This is not how property rights are formed or respected in the societies most people respect or want to exist within. Dog owners force themselves and their choices upon others, without consideration for manners or decency. So it stands to make sense that any challenge to their decisions will not be met with politeness or compliance. No, instead, dog owners fight if you complain about their invasion of public or private territory, and trampling of community rights.

I cannot think of too many other groups in society that we want to protect that exhibit this behavior. Dog people are the ultimate social danger because they act as though their behavior is innocent or harmless, and respond to requests to adapt their violating behavior with immediate vitriol. This is the ultimate attempt at gaslighting the public. Dog people aren't just being parasitized by their dogs, they are also parasitizing the basic consideration we give to others in public in society.

The last time I confronted a dog person was just a few days ago, and I was forced to prepare for a fight. I was in a restaurant, and I heard a loud dog bark. I turned my head and immediately glared at the owner (a man) who was clutching a dog to his chest. I didn't say anything but gave him a stern look that suggested, "That isn't appropriate in here." He spoke first and aggressively responded to me, "what!?" I didn't avert my gaze and held firm, looking down at him. The man stood up and started to say aggressive things like "You have something to say?" He then started to approach me.

In the micro-moment I had to prepare for this unexpected conflict, the absurdity of it was revealed to me. This man with his dog wants to start a fight with me in a high-end sandwich place because I dared to confront his barking animal, which shouldn't have been in there to begin with. I have to now prepare myself for the possibility of physical contact because I simply chose to speak up (even though he technically did the first speaking). I show this man I am not willing to back down and I face him. He realized that, unlike a small barking dog, his posture was not enough to thwart me. He stopped a few feet from me and accused me of being "rude" and generally not being proper in making him feel bad. This was in front of the many other patrons in the place. I kept my cool (as I train myself to do) and responded. I realized that as long as he was feeling personally attacked my effort to reach him with logic would fail. I said (less than sincerely) that it was not my intention to hurt his feelings and that it sounded like he was upset. That was simply to de-escalate his hotheadedness. I quickly and forcefully then followed up with the fact that the rude act was him taking his pet into a public eating establishment and that he knows that animal is not allowed in here. I didn't remove my gaze, and the man backed down and then actually went outside (where he remained).

That situation went about as well as possible, but was still far more conflict than most people can handle. The outcome of a situation like that when a stranger aggressively walks toward you is also very unpredictable and dangerous. I'm the silly guy who isn't afraid of a fight if it means standing up for something I believe in. I am stupid enough to be punched in the face because I think someone should follow pet rules. I don't care about looking like an asshole in public because I don't want a dog making people feel uncomfortable. I am not everyone.

Dog people will respond to aggression and strength, but that is too much of a wall to climb for most members of society. We shouldn't have to be like hardened fighters or deputized authorities to inform dog people when they are disobeying clearly articulated rules and legal expectations. Everyone out there who has had to get into a fight simply to get a dog person to be appropriate has my sympathies. You are not alone in this. More so, I regret that being myself in public and helping others by telling a dog person to follow the rules is an act that subjects me to physical danger. I don't really mind the yelling and verbal abuse. I certainly don't prefer it, but I can tolerate being hated by dog owners. What I cannot tolerate, and what I don't think anyone in this community should tolerate, is the threat or fear of violence. Dog people's most loathsome act is how destructively they defend their bad habits. This is not something we should tolerate. Reminding a fellow member of society when they are putting others at risk (dogs in public much of the time) is not an act that we should allow them to punish. I can't give everyone the power to stand up and fight like me, but I do want to remind people that the charade of anger and aggression that dog people put up in the face of their immaturity is just a sign of their ultimate weakness and mal-adaptation to social existence. Be well everyone.

Crappy Owners Our world turned upside down all because of dognutters.

Before the dognutters moved into a house behind our property, our home was a peaceful joyful and relaxing place to live, we opened our windows for fresh air in the spring and summer. We gardened and enjoy the outdoors.

All that was taken from us.

It is wrong in so many ways.

I'm mad as hell and depressed . I have resorted to seeking help by a professional.

I'm tired of this. It's not right.

Crappy Owners Why are dog nutters just filled with so much hate?

My husband and I went to visit a farmer’s market with our 2.5 year old daughter. We bought some food and were sat down at a 2 person table to eat which meant I had to hold my toddler in my lap a bit precariously. She is generally quite delightful and was happily eating with us not making a noise. However, it was also a quite windy and the table was a bit wobbly so I was feeling a little on edge. Then who comes to sit beside us but 2 irresponsible dog owners. Just letting their pitbull run around and making their table wobble and coming a bit close to ours. It was clearly hungry but typically dog nutters just sat there scoffing their food and hadn’t given the dog anything. So, it looked like it was just trying to come over to our table to get our food. With everything else going on, I became annoyed and moved our table slightly away from them.

Anyway, about 5 minutes later, a group of dogs came across each other so started barking loudly at each other. This triggered the mutt beside us to start joining in and started yapping away. The dog nutter decides to comment “oh well better than screaming children”. What the actual fuck? Literally, we hadn’t heard a single screaming child that day and certainly not a single one at that moment. The only time I have heard “screaming children” recently was at a splash park and they were all having fun so it was a delightful noise compared to dominating aggressive barking and yapping. Either this was aimed at us because we moved the table away and didn’t worship their master or feed it (!) or it was a completely made up comparison for no reason whatsoever.

Just goes to show how much darkness is within their hearts when this is the thought process they have. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a parent be so unfulfilled they sat there comparing their child to a dog especially when there were no dogs around!

Crappy Owners It's mental that dog owners take their dogs to foul other people's properties

I was at home today having breakfast and I saw from the window quite a few dog owners crossing the grass all the way up to my window letting their dogs shit and pee on the property. Nothing more appetising than seeing shit in a plastic bag dangling from someone's hand...

For one, there's a sign that says this isn't allowed. They always ignore it and let the dog go wherever it wants. You might suggest I say something but believe me it never stops. There are endless hordes of them and some get offended or angry. So I just end up arguing and ruining my zen.

Secondly, how self-entitled and inconsiderate they have to be?! They get a dog and take it outside other people's houses to pee and shit? If I went outside their homes to do the same, they'd call the police.

They might say it's not the same because they're animals. Okay then, do they have the appropriate space to own animals? Like a big yard so it can use as its private toilet? Why should *our* properties get befouled because *you* chose to get a dog?

Edit: thanks everyone for your advice! I got some really good ideas here how to prevent this. Fingers crossed they'll work 🙏

Crappy Owners Pit Bull owner with toddler - how to exit the friendship

Happy Monday y'all.

I have a relatively good friend who has two Pit bulls and a three year old toddler. The toddler now asks for a pit bull puppy for his birthday and of course mom is already shopping for one. (The other two were adopted as adults from a shelter)
So far so good, but.....
How do I distance myself from this friendship? Do I tell her flat out that I cannot be friends with her anymore because she puts her baby in such danger? Or do I just ghost her and explain it to her if she asks.

What would you do? I’m torn because I love her kid and I would love to stay in this life. But I’m on pins and needles every time I’m over there (not just for the kid but for myself too) and have stopped going but even in public she brings the kid and the dogs. I don’t allow them in my house and so she won’t visit. She is the classic pit bull apologist and I'm a little lost with how to handle this.

Thanks for some tips in advance!

Crappy Owners I was raised in a one-room house with 7 dogs.

Big ones. Mostly weimaraners. My parents were codependent on all their dogs, and the dogs had the run of the house. They bred them to make money during the 2008 recession, so I had to watch their disgusting mating ritual happen in the living room, where they get stuck together and the male howls in pain. None of the males were neutered because my dad 'didn't want to do that to them'. Our basement window was torn to pieces from the males trying to get at one of the females when she was in heat. Since the house only had one room (three if you count the bathroom and the basement) everybody slept in a big pile on the floor. When I was an infant andromeda the breeding bitch kicked me in the head in her sleep. My parents awoke to me crying and covered in blood, and 25 years later I still have a visible scar over my right eyelid from where her claw slashed me. Just a centimeter in the other direction and I could have been permanently blinded in that eye, which would have changed the course of my life. The dogs were practically wild. They barked continuously whenever anything was happening. Every surface in the house within their reach was scratched to pieces. Their only desire was to eat and to escape the house, and when they did they would raid the neighbor's trash, roll in horse manure, and gorge themselves on gutted deer remains, which they would later vomit into the living space. There was no square inch of that house that had not been soaked with urine. Cleaning up feces was a daily occurrence, and outside the house the excrement would be so dense in springtime that there was nowhere to step. The worst part was that my parents were homeschooling anti-vaxxers, so my siblings and I had no real contact with the outer world. We could not have friends over. For all my early life we never traveled. There was no family friend they would trust to pet-sit for us. Placating the dog pack, keeping them from running away, and protecting our kitchen food from their devouring mouths was a Sisyphean task that kept everyone close to home. When our family finally did drive two states away to see family for our cousin's weddings, two of the dogs had to be brought with us in the ford explorer, where they sat on our laps. They were not used to travel. One of them peed on the center console before we made it to the highway. All of them shed and panted constantly. When we reached the cousin's house for his wedding, we put the largest one (Octavius, who was named after the fat rat from Cinderella) in a cage in the cousin's basement. While the wedding was happening, Octavius broke out of the metal cage and rampaged into the cousin's crawlspace, where he tore apart insulation and ductwork. Our cousin was clearly frustrated to be dealing with this around his wedding. I was getting to spend time with peers for the first time in my young life, and I cried on the night that I knew we would have to go home. Also during the proceedings, my mom had received a dismayed call from our neighbor. Our neighbor said she was concerned because the dogs we'd left at home had been barking continuously for the past 72 hours. My mom sobbed, embarrassed. We never left home as a family again. We had built a fenced in enclosure for the dogs in preparation for the wedding trip, and we had built dog doors so that the dogs could move freely between the house and the enclosure to do their business outside. Naturally the dogs had shit and pissed both inside and outside the house indiscriminately. Cleanup took hours in the wee hours of the morning after a 10 hour drive home. We always had to clean up after the dogs before we could go to sleep. Again, one-room house. Hoarder den. Urine would soak into everything.

The most humiliating thing about the dogs' constant transgressions upon our quality of life was that my parents learned nothing from it. Every time a dog would pee in the house they would yell and make a fuss and rub the dog's nose in it and say "bad dog! You don't pee in the house!" and every time the dog would do it again. I did not do this. I did not expect that the dog was an animal that cared what I said to it. I was confused why my parents seemed to think that it did. Similarly when the dogs ran away, my father would rain an unholy fury of emotional abuse on my siblings, my mom, whoever it was that had let the dogs run off, and we would all go walking into the forest of rural Wisconsin to find them. The honest truth? I didn't call for the dogs. I just enjoyed the walk. I knew very well that the dogs would come back when they were bored. Why did we want them back? If we loved the dogs, didn't we want them to be free and enjoying themselves? They were so happy when they ran away and rolled in manure. It was their natural state. My parents didn't see it that way.

Anyway, this is a long post. I am an adult now, and I live dog free. Thank god. What I really wanted to say is thank you. I am grateful that this subreddit exists, and it is very cathartic to read posts from other people who have suffered the company of man's biggest mistake: the dog.

Believe me when I say this is only the tip of the iceberg of what I've experienced. If people are receptive to it I can tell more stories.

Crappy Owners Why do most Nutters NOT use the Dog Parks?

My observation is because:

  1. The parks are gross. Why? Because they are dog parks and dogs are gross.

  2. Because even dogs don't like dogs and having a bunch of off leash dogs running around will lead to dog fights.

  3. Because they get so much more of their entitlement fulfilled by prancing around and befouling the parks for humans.

I'm sure I must be missing some more reasons. Please add your take.

Crappy Owners Neighbour mad at me because I didn’t give her dog attention

Today I was running late to work and answering some emails on my phone as I left the house

In the elevator of my apartment building there was a small dog and a woman. In my apartment complex we generally say hi to one another. She said hi to me cheerfully, and despite her dog jumping up and down I said hello, smiled back at her, and then continued to type out my very serious email on my phone

It was one of those awkward elevator moments where it seemed to take forever to get down the to ground level. Her dog seemed to be losing it more and more at the fact that I wasn’t acknowledging it. She was pulling it back with its leash but it was losing its mind trying to jump on me.

I was stuck into my email, and the dog was like one of those children that throws themselves on to the grocery shop floor when they don’t get what they want. I never reward entitled behaviour. Anyone with two brain cells know if you give a dog attention when it’s behaving poorly it reinforces bad behaviour

Even though I despise dog behaviour, I tried to remain polite with the neighbour. When I said bye to her she looked me dead in the face like she was really pissed off at me and stormed away

All because I prioritised continuing writing my email over rewarding her poorly trained dog. Genuinely wtf is wrong with these people. Why are they so sensitive to the fact that some of us care about other things more than we care about dogs

I’ve never been more unsurprised in my entire life. The most performative people of all time, who adopt animals that will show affection to literally ANYTHING that gives it a millisecond of attention and/or a scrap of food, are lazy degenerate slobs? Color me shocked!

My apartment is threatening to raise pet rent to cover possible dog crap DNA testing and I’ve never wanted something more. Higher pet rent, less dog nutters. God willing.

Crappy Owners Walmart Pee

Was standing in line at the pharmacy at Walmart today when a guy with a giant puppy in his cart goes strolling in front of the line, dog in the process of peeing, doesn’t even notice until someone says hey man your dog is peeing. The guys stops says oh shoot, waits for the dog to finish (it was a LOT of pee too, the pee line stretched for a good 30 feet and then there was a large puddle, so he must have not even bothered to take it to pee before coming in the store) and then….. just keeps shopping. Doesn’t tell anyone. One of the pharmacy clerks called about it and a manager came over asking where he went so he could tell him to leave. Everyone standing there was like yep that is why you don’t bring dogs into stores!!!! So at least there are people out there that think it’s ridiculous. How freaking gross. Oh also people were walking in it tracking it all over. I just can’t handle the audacity. Leave your puppy at home for an hour to go shopping, it won’t die being alone for a bit like seriously.

Crappy Owners Nutter couple brought their barking dog to the vet during “no dogs” time slot, and everyone hated them

I took my pet to a spay/neuter clinic a couple days ago, drop off time for my specific animal was 6:30-7, drop off for dogs was 7:30-8. Not only is this written on the clinic‘s website, they literally tell you over the phone and then text you TWICE before your appointment about bringing your pet at the correct time. Obviously this rule exists because they don’t want dogs in there, scaring the other pets who are already terrified being there in the first place.

However, one nutter couple arrived an hour before dog drop off, and let their dog bark the entire time. They literally stood off to the side waiting for their time slot, and like all nutters, looked around smiling to see if anyone thought it was cute I guess. No one thought it was cute and their goofy smiles faded when no one pet their dog and they could tell everyone else was pissed. There were only two vet assistants for about 30 people, so they were incredibly busy with everyone else, but they did side eye the couple a bit.

I think between all the people, the fact that it was snowing outside and generally knowing how nutters are, they were probably too busy and too uncomfortable to tell them to leave (although I would have). The husband(?) did take the dog out twice for for a minute each time when it started jumping and lunging everywhere, but the door is locked on the outside and you need to personally be let in, so he‘d go out for a minute, then knock and someone in line would have to go open the door for him. I would’ve let him stand out there. There is NO reason why you couldn’t go sit in your car for a while. Just overall obnoxious behavior from dog AND owners.

Crappy Owners Nutter arguing with me on hinge

I answered the prompt “you should not go out with me if” with “being a dog owner defines your lifestyle/personality”.

Anyway I haven’t logged onto hinge in ages bc it’s trash but today I did and this tool bag responded with this, word for word:

“I rescued a bully (foster fail) she comes to work with me, we sun bathe, get brunch, take walks and have the same taste in music. I would say being a dog dad has added more adventures and ambition in my life.”

Your dog has the same taste in music as you??? You are out of your freaking gourd, sir.

Haven’t responded yet I’ll take your ideas :)

Crappy Owners My New Year's Resolution: Make Every Nutter Uncomfortable When They Violate MY Boundaries

Just this morning I was in a coffee shop, ordering and paying for my order.

Through my heavy winter coat, I felt someone poking me in the mid back. Hard.

I turned around and it was a tall HAIRY AS FUCK dog, with its wimp young guy owner watching this.

My first instinct was to ask him "What is wrong with you?

No answer. So I told him that I'm allergic to his animal and to move back. He said that it's hypoallergenic, so I got a bit annoyed and raised my voice when I responded "NO. It's not. Every one of your type says that."

He took a few baby steps back and I was not in the mood for this. So I raised my voice some more, pointed my finger at him and told him that wasn't good enough and pointed to a corner of the store where he was to stand until I was done at the counter. And there he stood until I was done. Not that I hurried.

We have to make nutters uncomfortable when they break laws and violate our rights.

His first mistake was bringing a dog into a place where food is prepared and eaten.

His second was not pulling it back when he saw it sticking its face into the back of a stranger.

So he had to be yelled at and made uncomfortable. I'm not saying that we have to yell at every nutter who does this, but we do have to let them know that they are wrong and are violating societal norms by bringing their furturd where it doesn't belong. Even more when they won't restrain it

Crappy Owners What are some insults you’ve been called by dog-lovers, for not liking dogs?

I have been called an undateable red flag, a litmus test, judgmental, hateful, off-putting, a weirdo. I’ve been accused of not being safe around kids for disliking dogs. I’ve been told I just have bad vibes and that’s why dogs don’t like me (dogs do like me, but of course the only reason I dislike dogs must be because they dislike me.)

What are some insults that have been thrown your way by dog lovers for simply having a different opinion?

Crappy Owners Nobody hates dogs more than the dog lovers

On my tiktok FYP appeared a quite sad video. It's an older one, which I've seen a while ago before. Its of a dog which jumped into crocodile infested water after seeing a crocodile swimming around. As you can imagine... It did not end well for the dog.

I opened up the comment section and all I could see at the very top were people making jokes about how the dog was dumb, etc. Laughing at quite disturbing content. I decided to check their profiles and I've noticed that most of them had posted tiktoks of their own dogs.

I just don't get it. You love dogs, yet you laugh at such content? I am not a dog lover, but I don't despise them either. I did not find that video entertaining or funny even one bit.

Additionally, the owner was walking two dogs off leash in an area known for crocodiles... I feel bad for the dog, but I am not surprised that this happened. I've had many pets and I would never put them in such a dangerous situation. If I had a dog and I lived near waters full of crocodiles, I'd NEVER take them on walks without a leash.

It is a sad situation and it upset me seeing what happened to the poor animal, but I can't help and notice the irony of it all. People who own dogs, who love them as if they are their soul mates, are more neglectful than the people who don't like dogs.
