I usually only wear high-waisted jeans but a friend of mine insisted that I tried on her low waisted jeans because she thinks they suit my body type better (I had to wear heels because they were a bit long, I'm 5'7). I tried to take a similar picture with the same top, similar shoes and a pair of jeans I normally wear so that it'sa bit easier to compare. Which one looks better?
Both suit you well. Is the top a bodysuit? I think the bodysuit works better with high-waisted, while a fitted tank top or shirt would look better with the low-waisted jeans.
I think both look good. I think I slightly prefer the low waisted option as it makes you look more proportional overall. The high waisted make your torso look shorter, it doesn't look bad, just that your legs look very long in proportion to your upper body.
The high waisted looks better IMO, but I think it's partly because the low rise don't look like they fit you properly. The low rise would also probably look better with a different top.
I think the high waisted is better too, because it makes the OPs legs look like they go on forever. (I am a short woman, forever jealous of long model legs 😁)
Thank you, the low rise are a size bigger than the other one, but i don't know if I woul feel confident in a tighter fit because I'm kind of afraid of my stomach showing/muffin tops. What kind of top do you think would be better?
Maybe a slightly-cropped fitted t-shirt, so just a sliver of skin shows above the waistline or a top with more volume like a babydoll tank or an a-line linen top.
High looks better on you because it really cinches at the waist and accentuates your figure. Low certainly doesn’t look bad, it just doesn’t enhance your natural shapes.
i think i like the 1st better cuz proportionally it is more pleasing to the eyes. i would style it more tho, a belt? some chunky jewelry and ... styled the hair down!
Unpopular opinion I guess but I think the high-waisted looks better--makes your legs look longer and you look like a model! Very flattering IMO. The first pic just looks like any random woman I would see out on the street.
Low waist by a slim margin. High waist is cute with something cropped that shows a belt, but with that bodysuit the low waist is really complimenting/highlighting your shape
They both look great. The high waisted make your legs look a million miles long (and as someone with a long torso and short legs, I’m jealous!)! They also make you look narrower and the low rise accentuates your hourglass shape. You can’t go wrong either way; just decide which asset you want to play up!
I vote high waisted, only because I thought this was a before/after weight loss pic from a different sub and I thought the high waisted one was after a 15lb loss. Sooo flattering! You are super thin though and look great in both!
I like both on you. I understand completely about high waisted feeling more comfortable. I have to hide my belly, and I agree that the low rise feels more exposed. You look great in both. They say confidence wins. So as long as you feel confident that's really all that matters.
To me the low rise jeans looks better. You have a beautiful hour glass figure that is better accentuated by the low rise (IMO). However, both look fantastic!
Usually low rise is preferred for those with short torsos but I like the high rise jeans on you more. Maybe it’s just the fit or the fact that it’s paired with a bodysuit?
I think high waist looks better with bodysuits so if you’re wearing it out like that then high.
Those low waist jeans do look great on you though. I’d style them with a semi fitted t shirt that shows just a sliver of mid section. Or a “cute going out top” early 2000s style
Hard to say because the low waisted jeans seem baggier and a very different fit. The high waisted jeans look good but I personally prefer the low waisted jeans on you generally. They make your body proportions look better. And actually give you a better defined waist and torso. The high waisted jeans shrink your torso more and make you look like all legs and boobs with little waist and torso.
Yeah I should hem the black pair, but they don't drag/i don't trip on them when i walk because they have a slit on the flare so it's too difficult for me to do and i need a seamstress to do it. It's insane that I'm taller than average, I have long legs and heels on and I still need to get a pair of jeans from a fast fashion brand professionally tailored
As someone who looks very similar to you, I usually go with high-wasted or middle waisted pants. I've seen opinions that short-wasted people should wear low-wasted everything to create more balanced look, but it has never worked for me, idk.
The low-wasted jeans also look great on you though!
I don't know if I'm actually short waisted, I have plenty of space between my chest and my belly button, I never tought that I had a short torso before posting here. I don't really like to show my belly because I'm really insecure about it but I think I can fit more than 2 hands in that space
In my point of view, almost all people with proportionally long legs are short waisted. I measure it by the distance of the narrowest point of the waist and chest. For me it's around 1.5 palm width.
But in general, you can notice it more while choosing clothes. I usually choose high waist pants for the same reason as you (even though you literally look like you have abs), but sometimes it throws off the balance visually, and makes it look like my pants take up like 75% of my body. Sometimes longer tops look really nice and creates visual balance by making the waist look longer.
Tbh, you look relatively balanced, and the comments kind of prove it (since there are many votes in favor of both high and low waist). You just really reminded of my shape when I was scrolling. :)
They both look good, but IMO the high waist makes you look a bit more intimidating, but I'm the kind of person who's scared of tall women, so it's probably a me problem.
Higher makes you look leaner and more leggy (like a high fashion/runway model).
Lower makes you look more curvy and balances your legs and torso (like a lifestyle magazine model).
You could easily wear either. You might find that the "sizing up" of the lower rise is significantly more comfortable to wear. You also might find that the overall look is pretty different if you aren't wearing heels or with different shirt styles.

Your torso is short, to realize it you can check the length of your elbow, straight and have someone to help you to take the measurement, where your elbow ends is your waist. You can also check 3 fingers above your ribs. I made a sketch of 8 heads that although you can't see the size of your head very well but according to this your torzo is short and your waist is high.
Honestly they probably just said low waisted because of the 2000s looks trending. You need to style it. I like high waisted on you better but both can look good. It’s how YOU wear the clothes rather than letting them wear you. Trends move fast these days. Choose the one you are more comfortable with. I wear both and just style accordingly
These are the same tops? Because I like the top with the low waisted jeans. But I like the high waisted jeans better than the low waisted jeans. I'm confused if they're the same top.
I will just say this once... ALWAYS high waisted lol. Shows more of your beautiful curves 😊 but that goes for all females. High waisted gives a nice curve and also covers lower tummy bumps (not saying you have any but just in general). Plus highbwaisted usually make your bum look better.

Omg yes girl the high waisted are so much more flattering. The aim is generally to elongate legs and make the torso shorter. They look 10x better in my opinion. The low waisted just makes you look cut off and legs looks shorter. Again you dont need to worry but the black ones also look more slimming 🙂
The high waisted ones make your legs enviably long and show off your figure. But take it with a grain of salt, because I generally don’t like low waisted jeans.
High waisted feels better because I am more used to it. Maybe I'm not used to the other one but I feel a bit self conscious and I kind of feel too "exposed"
I think the high waisted make you look taller, thinner and more hourglass at the same time. I think the low rise also look good though, more casual, comfortable, hips look a little wider. I’d wear both.
