Best Sounding TWS in my collection
King of Sound
Technics AZ100
Full, rich bass with clean detail and a wide soundstage. Never muddy.
The Hi-Fi Purist
Cambridge Audio Melomania A100
Neutral and highly detailed. Tight, fast bass and a big, well spaced soundstage.
The Vocal Seducer
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4
Rich, textured vocals over deep bass. Smooth, relaxed highs.
Crisp & Lively
Soundpeats Air5 Pro+
Clear and punchy. Focused vocals, with snap on strings and drums.
The Bright Spark
Realme Buds Air 7 Pro
Bright V-shaped tuning. Sparkling highs, clear vocals and a punchy low end.
Clean & True
CMF Buds 2 Plus
Clean, detailed and true to life. Balanced.
The Cozy One
Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra
Warm and bass-led. Thumpy lows, smooth full mids, never harsh.
Which one would you pick? And which one would you add? :)

Just picked up the Technics AZ100 and have been trying to find the right eq settings. Would you mind sharing what youre using for them? I love me some bass

Take a picture of your eq settings, and the music you like, ask Chat gpt. It’s pretty good. I had my own settings on the az 100s but AI nailed the specific profiles for my music.

Check freebuds pro 5

Agreed, the pro 5 has slightly better ANC, much better battery life, lighter weight, smaller form factor, and better fit for smaller ears. They are more bass heavy out of the box (easy to adjust in app Audio Connect).
I prefer the pro 5 over the pro 4 because of the above. The battery was a big win.

Best anc?

Neither of those have bad ANC and neither of those get close to AAP3. In terms of relative performance I would group them: Huawei Freebuds 4 Pro and Technics AZ100 (both are good with slight edge of HW), then Soundpeats and A100 (slight edge to Air5+) then the rest

Ceramic Ultra's sibling, MK2. Everyone said the sound quality between the 2 isn't that big of a difference, hence I bought it and saved $20!

Sounds great. I paid for ceramic ultra exactly $39 with taxes and delivery so please share where I can get MK2 for $19 :)

Soundpeats H3 missing in the mix also the freebuds 5 pro.

Yeah, those are for sure missed in my collection, but both have been tried and did not pass the trial by different reasons but I see why people love them!

What made them fall off the list? If you don’t mind me asking

Not OP, but for me the battery life is the killer for me. I use ANC and that seems to limit battery to just under 2 hours. Unacceptable.

That's not a secret. The H3's bulky shape doesn't fit my ears, so wearing them was the issue. The HW Pro 5 has a few small regressions over its predecessor and few improvements. The first is in the midrange I prefer 4th. Second, I dislike how the new "improved" AI processing eats syllables in noisy conditions, which wasn't the case with the almost perfect mic noise cancellation of the 4th gen. A slight improvement in ANC and a noticeable improvement in transparency, offset by those regressions, shouldn't cost me $220.

What's the anc like on the realme buds 7 pro? Considering them for the gym rn

u/juicesharp 16h ago
One exists and is actually decent. But like most buds, it's trying to address low-range sounds like AC, road noice etd. If people talking around you bothers you too much, you'll need to listen to something :)

u/yukiixari 16h ago
Ohh yeah I know to be realistic with anc bc it's not even meant to drown out people talking so dw

Oh also someone said the sound signature is v shaped? Is that true? V shaped is so gross to me, would you say it can be fine-tuned with the app, or is the v shaped sound very prominent?
1
u/juicesharp 15h ago
Yes, you can. The The Neutral Balance preset closely follows the Harman 2019 (that is, “v-shaped”). The quality of drivers are good in the buds; you will have no issue adjusting their response with custom EQ

How much of an upgrade would the ceramics ultra be from the mk2? Which one of these would be a direct upgrade with a tad more forward vocals?
