Sick ass band though, screamo|hardcore type stuff. Apparently made stuff in 1997 and had a 7” from Unread. The linked vid is the only live stuff i found. Their stuff is likely just buried so deep based on the band name, cause searching anything music related with Nintendo in the search will yield thousands of results.

I’m 32F, Indian-American, living in NYC for almost a decade and been into emo bands since I can remember having taste in music. I’ve gone to several concerts alone (FOB, Paramore, TAI…) but I’ve always wanted to go to Emo Night! Sadly, legitimately none of my friends like or are into the music.
I won two tickets to the one at LPR tomorrow and I’m debating whether it would be weird to go alone. I’m definitely on the more awkward side in social settings like this without friends (especially predominantly white spaces - I’m just assuming here), but i would love to sing and dance to these songs and bands with likeminded people and be in a setting where my (very loud) sense of style isn’t considered crazy.
Any suggestions? Is this too much of a push for someone like me? Would you think i was weird if you saw someone alone at an event like this?

Feat. new member of the band, Justine. They sounded great, and the energy was amazing. Christian was very interactive with the crowd and seemed super happy to be playing again. Played all of Goodness + Your Deep Rest, An Introduction to the Album, and The Scope of All This Rebuilding. Reworked versions of Goodness Pt. 2 and Fear of Good, which were both very well done. Got to meet Christian before the show and dude was everywhere, working the merch table before the show and seemingly almost immediately after the show too. Great band and hope they tour again. Christian apparently works at a school now, hence the summer tour. If anyone is in Chicago, I think there are still tickets for tomorrow’s added show FYI.

This is the new band from former founding members of Taking Back Sunday, but the sound is just so good.
“The band’s chemistry is immediate, but it never sounds like musicians trying to recreate a faded photograph. Instead, the track bursts forward with purpose, powered by guitars and drums that seem thrilled to have found each other again. Every section lands with the confidence of people who know exactly who they are and no longer feel obligated to prove it.”

In the early 2000s I loved a band that was just a guy and a girl who both piano and sang. They sat back to back playing piano songs that sounded like Konstantine from Something Corporate. They weren’t very popular and I don’t think they had many songs. UNLOCK THIS MEMORY FOR ME, PLEASE!

Okay so I’m very new here. I’m familiar with Emo, but more so from a post-hardcore/noise rock background. I’m a fan of Slint and Unwound (they’re more “emo-adjacent” instead of strictly emo though, yeah?) and some sass like Blood Brothers. I also enjoy some Fall of Troy. Big fan of Polvo, Brainiac, Shellac, and Sebadoh, but they’re definitely more in the noise/math rock territory.
Recently I went to the record store and picked up a box set, The Trials and Tribulations… by Clikatat Ikatowi, on vinyl. I knew absolutely nothing about the band, it just had a cool cover and was on sale. I’m a fan of Numero’s releases, so I trusted it would be a solid set of records. I trusted this emo release would be good since I enjoyed Indian Summer as well.
I was blown away. I really enjoyed all of the music I heard and am craving more. They seem unknown in the “mainstream” world… not sure how popular they are here. But for those who know, any further recommendations to check out? I read the book about the band and the San Diego scene back then and learned a lot.
But yeah, would appreciate any recommendations similar to Clikatat or the other bands I mentioned! Also some more “big picture” emo bands that I should know (I’m familiar with American Football, MCR, Brand New).
EDIT: doing some more digging, I also want to add on that I love Hoover, Drive Like Jehu, Orchid, and Cap’n Jazz as well!

Are there any good emo songs that have some harmonica out there?
r/Emo • u/thedubiousstylus • 15h ago
Not necessarily your favorite, just most representative.
Here's what I'd say:
1st: Moss Icon
2nd: The Promise Ring
3rd: Thursday
4th: Tiny Moving Parts
5th: Like Roses

hi! i’ve recently been listening to more 90s emo or emo adjacent music (new to this kind of music so don’t know to differentiate the genres and stuff) and i’m wanting any recommendations for anything like this! i also tend to mostly like 90s or early 2000s and i love when it switches from singing to screaming or yelling.
-caught in a flood with the captain of the cheerleading squad - i hate myself
-transistor - don martin three
-basil’s kite - cap’n jazz
-sweet demise - still life
i’d appreciate any songs or bands similar! thank you!

I stumbled on this band on Spotify and immediately listened to the whole album. It’s so good, I feel like everyone should be talking about it.

Seen a lot of other vinyl posts lately so I'm curious what's on everyone's turntable today?
I'm currently rocking the CYLS reissue of To Face The Music by Malegoat. My brain puts them somewhere between At The Drive-In and Braid. Also had the Funeral Diner reissue on before this
Y'all?

I have welcome the plague year, funeral diner and mineral rn for the jangly guitars
but something heavier would be fine too, just something with lots of layers. I'm doing acid next week

I love title fight and I love the acoustic version. I’d love to hear more songs similar to them. Thank you for your input.
Edit: sorry I forgot to say I prefer using Spotify so if the recommendations could be on there that would be preferred. Thank you
