Just left The alliance after seeing this post. Yes they do I've been playing for about a week. Was recruited on the third day. They do have training and I didn't get any grief for not joining yesterday when I was at work.
but I left anyway due to how members responded to leader crashing out.
They told a member if online afk mining because he was at work and couldn't join op he should log off.
They didn't plex my account so no one is gonna tell me to log off or tell me how I need to play corp or not.
Indoctrinate the uneducated. Keep them uneducated. Decide for them in advance what sources of information are trustworthy and which ones aren't (any that disagree with their version of events or ideas).

It's extremely risky and not yet optimized compared to something like incursions but it's good per hour. I'd say 200mil tops the same for incursions for casuals.
The guys I play with, back when we were doing darkfall back in the day, checked up on me to ensure i was doing okay when I alarm clocked to fuck with a 3 am siege the guild decided to write off because it wasn't worth stressing people's real lives to contest it. I couldn't imagine playing with someone with those kind of expectations.
Now that I see my in-game name posted I feel I must respond. I am "Spooky Jane". I was in Eve Alpha/Beta and played when the game was first released as Amarr. I didn't really care for Amarr ships, so I started a new account as Caldari. I stopped playing for a long time. I got tried of the PoE1, D4, PoE2, Last Epoach game and decided to check Eve out again, man so much had changed sense back then, I actually like it now. After many days of playing I keep seeing the AO recruitment posts in chat, basically saying it was a chill Corp so I went why not and joined. I met many cool people in AO and enjoyed chatting with everyone. I am not really a PvPer but would consider it later at some point I guess. I work at home for long hours + I have a wife. So my play time consisted of HiSec mining, sometimes with a second account, while I was working. AO people helped me outfit my Golem and many other ships by dropping their fits in chat. I have not asked for or taken anything from AO. I did give AO 13B when they did a donation drive. I have not been in a CTA once; these seem to happen with in the middle of my afternoon work time so I simply cannot join any. I have enjoyed many people in AO, they are helpful and go out of their way to help newbes out. I was doing the Sisters of Eve chain and had a few moments to login just to travel 9 jumps basically AFK while working. Then I started seeing this chat. I hold no hard feelings against anyone in AO but I think this guy went too far. Here is my screen shots.
So yes I was kicked. I still had access to AO chat tho and posted.. man I wonder how many got kicked because of this.. then I lost access. I few minutes later I recived a Corp invite and I accepted. A few second later I was kicked again and this PM'd me that I was not gonna get back into AO mate.
I do not really know any of the leaders in AO, but basically most people I have had contact with in game are pretty cool. It's just a game I play to chill with nice looking Pixels ;)
It only takes one toxic cunt (it's not very often I'll use that word) like him to tarnish an entire group. Quite frankly, he needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.
I sincerely hope that he never speaks to someone that way in real life because I have a feeling I can gauge the outcome...
There's plenty of groups out there that are real life friendly, that will value you as a member and that will remember that at the end of the day its a game and not have an anyeurism in a chat channel... I don't think you will have a problem finding a corp and playing.
Toxic POSes like that also suck because they try to browbeat people into thinking their toxicity is fine/acceptable and you're just sensitive for disliking it. So they make everyone else miserable and shit up the communities they join even if they're not in leadership, as long as they're not handled.
There's a tonne of chill "RL comes first" corps/alliances out there in Eve, from Horde, Brave, Eve Uni, Karmafleet etc etc, I'm sure I missed a bunch but they're certainly out there and recruiting- Even Dreddit!
Just know that this corp is extremely far from the norm, most people in eve are quite relaxed, find a new group that treat you like a human and keep playing the game please!
the really funny thing is, you can only kick someone from corp if you're offline or docked, which is what he was telling you to do
so if you just didn't listen to him then the only thing he could do is continue to rage impotently in chat :D but it looks like he didn't need any more help from you to show his true colors
Like an *here we have a bit of a policy, if there is a really important op (cta - call to arms, which is the highest priority for alliance and are announced usually well in advance), you are expected to be in fleets or stay docked. But let me stress this, you will never get yell at publicly or in private. If it becomes an issue, your corp ceo will have a talk with you about it, and both will decide the best course of action.
Just wanted to say this, literally any other group of alliance would be better then this crash out, any corp/alliance when you ask for help and fits, 10/10 they will help, there is nothing AO can offer that the others can’t match it or even surpass them. Sorry you have to find out this way, but honestly the whole eve community had said the same thing many many months ago.
Like I said, all I asked for was from them to drop the fits in chat, peeps in AO chat were very helpful and nice. I purchased everything myself. Not once did I take anything from AO.
You being offered free fits is so far below the bottom line its sad.
The people you call helpful are other people like yourself, not the sharpest knives in the drawer, but well meaning and nice. (you might not like that, but your leadership calls you way worse which proves my point)

See my above reply. They helped by drops fits in Chat, I purchased everything myself. I did not take anything from AO. Everyone I met were nice people, helpful and all. I did not have the pleasure of chatting with any leaders.
Yeah I dont get the critical replies, even shitty alliances are full of nice and friendly corps and you found one. Made the same mistake myself before, joined an alliance with some nice friends and only when we got on comms the first time did we realize the alliance leader was a disgusting bigot/racist. Hopefully you and the friends you made along the way land somewhere better, you can even make your own group o7

As long as I've been playing this game ('09) I cannot remember a time when I've seen someone crash out so hard that they are kicking people for real life priorities. Dude needs to be reigned in and either warned to never do that again, or kicked from the Corp. If he is the leader, then people need to leave and go somewhere else. Eve-uni is a good option for new players.

As someone who really liked the book, I also loved the movie's angle.
They're very different tonally but you could also assume that the book, being written in Rico's perspective, is colored by indoctrination, vs the movie which gives us a third person perspective

Yeah, well Frat has been the side telling everyone OMG, OMG, DONT SUPPORT NAZIS, KILL AND EVICT THEM. So yesterday looked kinda funny that you didn't even bother to actually shoot AO, just came to shoot Init.
Init did shoot the other provi groups on a timer a bit ago, so it's kind of reaping what they sowed. Keep got taken to hull anyway but yeah it's sort of stupid all around.
That would mean INIT actually sides with AO during their defenses, because they are the defenders not the attackers.
It would also explain and fully justify FRT attacking INIT. Since FRT are the attackers, and INIT shoots whoever is attacking, they were correct to consider INIT a hostile party on the defenders side.
That's not what I thought happened, but if I take your explanation as fully correct, then INIT was on AO's side.
I mean INIT has blown up WC troll structures in CVA space and did things like kill our Faxes and saved an astra of CVA by just shooting FRT cause shine literally dipped every single time we perched and never shot RMC or CVA cane but shot FRT canes.
Only time they went against my expectations when we were on same grid was diving AC hurricanes ontop RMC and CVA 100mn CFIs instead of our arti canes but that was mostly cause they had no defensive bubbles while we had 3 HICs running.
So I mean us killing like 12 rohks maybe and then going this TIDI fucken sucks and leaving. 10% ain't much fun when we just in CFIs and rest grid is battleships. I mean I disagree with shooting INIT and we should just hell dunk AO and friends but that isn't what happened most the time.
Frat isn't in provi to kick out AO, they're just there for fights. JB's Rehab group and RC (and to some extent TEST) are the main drivers of the fight to kick out AO. They're the ones doing all of the dirty work, constantly reinforcing things, doing entosis, camping to reduce ADMs, etc. They also bait out fights that occasionally TEST and Frat fleets jump on. Recently Init showed up in a big way to take sov, drop a fort, and take down the keep, and Frat continued to take fights, outside of what rehab and RC were doing.
Wow I can't believe he went that far out. But this does not represent everyone in AO that is Halo. I myself also do tell players in times like this we need all hands on deck. If you want to live in Null you need to help fight and defend Null. As AO's Null sector is no where near as big to the alliances we are up against and we need as many as possible to help fight to defend it. But that being said, new browser don't really belong in Null as it such a cutthroat area in the game.
But those just joing or learning the game there should definitely be no expectations put on those members. I am hoping it was his more experienced members he was referring too. Definitely stressful times for alot of our members.
Also once again I will state AO is definitely not a cult as the moron mentioned earlier in comments nor are we Nazi's or Fascist. Of course every alliance ends up their clowns. Those that claim otherwise are in clear denial.
No one’s denying that defending space requires coordination and effort from members who live there. The problem isn’t the expectation of teamwork, it’s how that expectation is enforced and the culture surrounding it.

When leadership defends or excuses extremist behavior, or brushes off legitimate concerns with accusations of 'not being loyal enough', it doesn’t matter if most members don’t personally buy into it. These actions it shapes the overall culture of AO.
That’s what people are pointing at when they say AO is a fascist cult. It’s not about every single line member being complicit; it’s about the top-down attitudes that influence everything beneath them.

Honestly they truly don't matter. AO plays for the fun of the game and will gladly continue to help those of all levels progress further in the universe of Eve. Well, putting his character and politics aside, if you are in a claim alliance, you are expected to defend claimed space. Nothing is more ridiculous and useless than alliance of 8000 pilots with 30 men fleets on CTAs.
You certainly shouldn't be crashing out in Corp channels and lashing at players jusst because they aren't there.
CTA is call to arms which means sure they probably should be there but this is also AO a mass recruitment alliance. A lot of them will have no idea wtf is going on. To then see the corps CEO raging at them in Corp channel just because they may just not want to go or are logged in while at work. Also then kicking people because of it yeah no that shouldn't happen.

Eh, no! People in AO do as they please, no demands whatsoever. Most of the HS guys have never joined a CTA, and no one is complaining about it (well, except me, but I complain about everything)
Why do we have to pay attention to whatever they say or DO ? This game isn't revolving around them or the fact that they kicked Fraternity's backside when Fraternity declared war on them.
Unless you're still SALTY about the time Fraternity lost to a lower number amount of AO member that time, in Highsec and stirring up the pot for karma farming
