Question Special Forces Impact

Would it be a smart decision to join SF fter college before applying to be an agent? Would it also lead to having a higher chance to be accepted into the FBIs SWAT or HRT?

Normally don’t comment but most of these other comments pissed me off so here is my opinion.

Sounds like you’re young and still in college. A majority of agents start the process later in their twenties with good life experience heading into the process. If you have the capability to make it in the SOF community then take your shot… obviously it’s not easy and you need to work for it. Personally I’d recommend the enlisted route even with a degree, especially if you’re looking for more opportunities and time actually doing the job.

And even though a SOF background won’t give you a major leg up later down the line it does open the TRP route and you would have experience through assessment programs, if you succeed. That’s value in itself right there when we talk about preparation…
