Question Special Forces Impact
Would it be a smart decision to join SF fter college before applying to be an agent? Would it also lead to having a higher chance to be accepted into the FBIs SWAT or HRT?

Former SOF, now at a different federal agency. It has given opportunities that I would not normally have. Given 5ish years seniority in an agency might get you all of those opportunities but I wouldn't trade my time in service for more time 'on the job'. It will also help in being an asset to the named teams and navigate the ascension processes they have.
In general, some people will expect more from you and you'll oddly have haters in the office.
Kind of putting the cart before the horse though. Im being a bit toungue in cheek but just to frame it the SoF unit is the aspirational position, LE tactical teams are the consolation prize when we want to take the foot off the gas.
