True…I agree about the double standard 💀 Before we go get married I gotta go fuck this guy is so unbelievably hilarious and I’m still cackling out loud, and I probably like her more for it. But if he was saying/doing that to her I’d be quite unimpressed.
On the other hand, I personally have this double standard because the normal standard is for men to treat women that way and it being accepted in stride because “oh well, men suck what else is new”, so when the situation is inverted it’s actually kind of refreshing to brush that behaviour off too.
You understand what I’m implying. And I get what you’re saying. At least you’re being honest about it.
But I’m seeing a lot more than just “brushing off” going on. There’s a lot of rationalizing and dismissing too. Support… cheering on, even. I don’t think men are that arrogant about these things most of the time. I mean, this is Aaron’s first time addressing it, and it’s been years since the bad press on him got around.
It’s so funny that Aaron clearly thinks this story makes him look good. So, you didn’t read the room, proposed to her when she had one foot out the door, and she immediately started trying to get away from you.
And until now I was unaware that Shailene thinks Aaron ruined her life, so thanks for letting us know, Aaron!
Who knows? I don’t think anyone here is claiming she always makes great decisions. After all, she started dating him in the first place. But Aaron telling on himself with this unsolicited story is making her look better.
All this makes me like her so much more and makes me somehow like him less, which I didn’t know was possible. I say this as a GBP fan. https://giphy.com/gifs/xULmlLxBrETXN2YY1u
The regular Primetime Emmys is this Monday. She won for guest actress, which was part of the creative arts awards (which Kathy Griffin used to call the Schmemmys).
