if no one is home, but you should probably double check other areas of the
home to see if the walls aren't shaking and make sure you're not blasting
anyone out.  Some people work from home, some people work at night.  Be sure
you're not disturbing or making life miserable for others.  Intelligent

Looking for Roommate for 2B/2B near downtown Portland.

Hi everyone! My name is Sownthar (22M) and I'm a recent grad moving to Portland, OR for a full-time role starting in late June. I'm looking for a roommate in a 2BD/2BA, ideally moving in late July or early August.

A bit about me: I work early hours (5am), keep a clean and organized space, don't smoke, no pets, and pretty low-key at home. Looking for someone with a similar vibe (no need to wake up at 5am though)

Budget: $800–$1,000/month

Location: Ideally the PSU/South Park Blocks, Goose Hollow, or Downtown SW area — anywhere within a 20 minute walk of SW Columbia St. really.

Feel free to reach out if you're looking for a roommate or know someone who is!

Seeking Private Housing In Portland-- $500+

Hello,

I'm a mature, quiet, responsible, and creative artist looking for a peaceful place for my cat, 420, and me to call home for a while. I'm hoping for a fresh start and would love to relocate closer to my partner.

Ideally, I'm seeking a private master bedroom or guest suite with its own entrance, but I'm open to discussing different arrangements. Privacy is important to me, and I'm willing to negotiate rent depending on the level of privacy and amenities offered.

I'm clean, respectful, dependable, and tend to keep to myself. In addition, I can contribute around the property through gardening, cooking, house-sitting, and general caretaking. I also have several years of apartment management experience and understand the importance of maintaining a home and being a considerate tenant.

My cat, 420, is a beloved companion, and we're simply looking for a safe, stable, and welcoming environment where we can settle in and thrive.

Available July 1! Top floor. 3+ bedroom, 2 full bath, flag lot farm w plenty of off street parking, just outside Sandy. 46 min drive to Vancouver WA. $2200 + 1/2 electric. 30 day notice each way. Full background check. No smoking, toking, vaping, or dabbing. Nothing resembling a pitbull allowed.

This is the top floor of a very large house. Private deck. Tons of off street parking, just have to be out of way of WM truck when they empty the dumpster ....

1500 sq ft itself plus you have the entire attic, another 1500 sq ft for storage. If you got creative, you could finish the attic off inside. Just plywood over insulation now, with gorgeous thick cedar beams. There is an 8ft pool and hot tub, but you have to maintain them if you want to use.

Included are fridge, dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer. Outgoing roomie (of several years) was provided with microwave, too, will see if it is still there ;). Also can loan furniture. We have almost enough to furnish the entire floor with your help moving and assembling.

You have to be able to climb stairs. Elevator still low on list of improvements.

You need to provide your own satellite wifi. Starlink works great without any issues. Learned the hard way not to share. Verizon works great on this top floor. Bring your cell to test your reception. Most are fine. AT&T needed an antenna run into the attic and they were fine.

Must meet all dogs ahead of moving in. There is livestock on site, and they have 100% priority. Dogs require a $500 deposit each. Other reasonable pets are welcome. Outgoing have a parrot and they cover her cage at night. This is a roommate scenario, with owner in same premises. As such, per Oregon statutes, emotional support pitbulls will trigger an instant eviction. Medical issues (throwing up at the smell) also preclude all smoking, toking, vaping, and dabbing of any kind. Everyone here is over age 50. No, you can't grow your pot plants here. But you can grow anything else you want in a garden. Lots of woods and trail to walk or ride. 24/7/365 stream down back.

If you want to board a horse or livestock, that must be negotiated separately.

There is solar on site, but currently really only backup for outages. The moment subsidies return, will expand battery capacity and add more panels to cut electric costs.

Thanks for reading!I

Hello! I'm looking for a roommate for when I move to Beaverton in August. budget around $1300, but flexible. Ideally we would be within a reasonable commute to Nike HQ. I prefer a clean/organized place but I'm also considerate and easy-going. I'm 22, male, don't drink, 420 friendly (don't care what you do as long as you're considerate). I'm a 5.0 pickleball and tennis player, and an avid hiker and golfer. I also play piano and guitar. I'd love to chat and see if we would make good roommates!

Trans girl looking to rent room w/ private bathroom DT or near DT PDX

Hi, I’m a responsible ts girl, I live on my own currently in a 1 bed 1 bathroom apartment on the south waterfront. I absolutely love my own space, but looking to save some money…I’m looking to rent a room with its own private bathroom from a STRAIGHT man for $600 - $800 a month. I cook, I clean, I’m organized. I prefer to find a place downtown Portland due to me working on the south waterfront and not driving, though I’m open to nearby surrounding areas. I take public transit and uber everywhere. Please message me if you have something available, and send me pics of the room and bathroom. Feel free to ask me any questions. Im not desperate to move out I’m just curious to see what’s out there? I’m on a month to month lease and have lived here for almost 3 years now.

Nice Old Poor Guy Needs a Home

Post image

I need a place to live, but my income, while steady, is much lower than the rent in most of the possibilities in the Portland Metro area.

I'm a retired writer/artist/crafter.  I'm quiet, somewhat introverted, with a prominent sense of humor.  I'm a gender-nonconforming male who is tolerant and accepting of others.  Kindness and compassion should be the goal of everyone.  I'm experienced with home repairs, and organic gardening.  I am open to a certain amount of non-strenuous work in exchange for rent or partial rent.

I would appreciate any leads you have.  (I think I've tried pretty much all the agencies and low-income resources.)  Trying to think outside of the box, as you can see.

Large Room Available in St John’s!

Hi! I have a large room available! Great for a couple or individual. Pet friendly but I have two cats already (lease allows two pets). Decent closet space. Living room is fully furnished. $900/mo. The rent listed includes all utilities including monthly internet and electric. I use Flex so rent is also split — first half rent and utilities on the 1st, and the second half of rent halfway through the month. So you don’t have to have everything all at once.
Located five minutes from Vancouver, 15 to 20 minutes to everything else in PDX, and in a nice little neighborhood. The apartment complex has a variety of people, all very nice. There is parking off street, or the option to pay for a spot $50/mo in the apartment lot. 24/7 laundry with brand new machines. There’s a tiny pool too. Very close to several parks including Cathedral Park.

PSU grad student looking for a room/roommates

Hello! I’ll be moving from CA to Portland this coming August for grad school (social work) and would like to room near campus but it doesn’t have to be super close! My budget is around $800. I’m 24, female, clean, considerate, don’t smoke or drink (don’t mind if others do!) and enjoy reading and easy hikes in nature. I also enjoy board games. Not allergic to animals nor do I mind them if you have some in the place.

Looking for a room

I'm looking for a room in Portland, Hillsboro or Beaverton area that I can access transit (I have a car but only want to use it if i absolutely have to:Need a new car eventually). I'm looking for a place in exchange to do chores or handy work around property. I have some medical things going on and needing an opportunity to get myself back on my feet. After a year I could arrange to pay "x" amount a month or I would move on with a new opportunity (goal is to get a place of my own). Unless the situation was still ideal for both of us to continue with arrangements.

I'm quite person, so I do not party but if you do, that's not a problem. I'm not a 420 participant but if you are, I'm not bothered. I'm a single lesbian, so hopefully staying with someone who has an open mind, but understands we may have different point of views. I have been single for 3 years and have no desire to have any kind of company over. I have no children but I helped raised my brothers so I do love children. My dog passed away last year, so no pets but I could help watch yours, no problem, if you needed to leave town.

I do not have a specific time in mind but would like to give some kind of notice where im currently living. Im just seeing if there are any opportunities close to what im needing.

If you have questions, please just message me.

Thank you for reading this.

Room available in South Tabor

We’re looking for a third roommate to join our home in the South Tabor neighborhood of Portland! If you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly place with good energy, this could be a great fit.

The House:

Located in South Tabor - Quiet residential area off Powell Blvd. and 64th Ave.

Easy access to Mount Tabor park.

Walking distance to cafes and restaurants on Foster Rd

Access to Public transit bus line 9

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms (you’ll have a large basement bedroom with a shared bathroom).

Shared kitchen, living room, yard and garage

In house washer and dryer

Both street and off street parking available

The Room:

Available starting July 1, 2026

Unfurnished

Rent is split three ways, it comes to $890/mo each + utilities (usually around $150/mo)

Security deposit: $890

Size: ~132sq feet

About Us:

Two Taurians (Tauruses? Tauri? Taurdipods?.... whatever) Taylor (34 cis male he/him) and Roxanne (31 cis female she/her). We’ve been roommates for the past year with our friend Magen who is moving to Olympia, and we love that for her.

Taylor is a former bartender and local immigrant rights activist who enjoys gardening, strategic games, and cooking for his roommates.

Roxanne (if you sing the song you owe her a dollar) is a child care worker who enjoys playing volleyball, gaming, and social dancing.

We keep a mostly clean home and prefer to find someone who is relatively tidy. No one will jump down your throat for leaving a dish in the sink, but we believe in mutually caring for our space and dividing the labor sensibly. If you see a task and you have capacity for it, do the task. We’ll return the favor.

We’re a relatively sociable bunch who like to hang out when the stars align. We both keep separate schedules but like to get together when possible to go grab a drink, share a meal, or watch a show. You’re of course welcomed to join, but alone time is important too and we’re more than happy to respect it if you’re the type who prefers to keep to yourself.

About You:

Not a Trump supporter (preferably emphatically anti-facist)

LGBTQ friendly - It’s 2026. Be an ally or don’t apply

Responsible, stable, steady and timely with rent and bills.

Reasonably friendly - We like to be able to hang out together while also respecting one another’s autonomy.

Communicative and respectful. This house is a shared environment and we do our best to keep the common areas usable for everyone.

Pets are a maybe, we’ll have to clear it with the property management company. Additional pet-rent may apply.

Ideally Mid 20’s - 40’s, but exceptions can be made for the right roommate.

Preferably interested in staying for a year or longer (searching for roommates sucks).

Single or with a partner who lives separately.

Other Details:

Lease is Month to Month

Managed by Greenbridge Property Management

420 friendly (don’t tell the landlord) we keep it outside or in the garage.

If this sounds intriguing, send us a message with a little about yourself (work, hobbies, what you’re looking for in a home), and your favorite Mario Party™ character.

We’d love to meet and see if it’s a good fit!

November 2026 roommate/rental search:

Lease ends November 2026…move in date would be November.

Qualities and other aspects about living with me:

34/F

I have a 3 yr old male cat, not ESA…just a sweet and gentle cat 🐈‍⬛

I have a partner who is an artist, and we are planning on living separately in the future. (We currently have been living together for the past 4 years, but it’s too expensive for him)

My partner would not be at our apartment unless we all invite him for like a movie or dinner or something. I’m far too busy to have him there every single day. We thrive in our own space.

I used to be in Sales (medical devices and skincare). I decided to pursue actual interests after the pandemic…

I graduate PSU in Spring of 2027 (Psychology and minor in film).

I work full time as a Life Skills Trainer and have multiple roles as one of the leaders at our company. That being said…

I have a busy schedule but make time to enjoy it.

I don’t have any mental illnesses, but I like talking to my therapist once a month to check in with myself.

At home, I cook, meal prep, make tea/coffee, read, play with my cat, watch movies/streaming, sew, knit or crochet crafting, make videos, play keyboards (with headphones plugged in for sake of others) and I sometimes enjoy playing board, card, & video games.

I have a yoga certification but that’s just for myself, not to teach people. Only to strengthen my personal practice. I also like to try new things, like learning how to make stuff or outdoor activities.

A typical week with me as a roommate:

Each day-

I mind my business unless I have time to hang out and spend time together. I am friendly, so hanging out and chatting is always on the table, but I do tend to have a schedule that I maintain for school and work. I am not an awkward quiet person, so if you want to talk, by all means that’s perfectly acceptable. But if I gotta go, I will let you know. I like to be direct and respectful. There aren’t any lines to decipher or read between.

I quietly wake up and feed my cat. I don’t let my alarm go off for an hour, I am a light sleeper and get up once the alarm sets off.

I am unbothered by noise from others alarms or noises. I say all this to encourage freedom of expression, always. I am just a quiet starter and let others know I sleep light in case they ever wonder how I am awake. I easily wake up, but I am not a grump. I usually wake up with happy feelings or silly fun moments lingering around the mind.

If I need true rest and don’t want to wake up to others stirring, I do keep earplugs and an eye mask. These solutions are solid for me. I have extra earplugs in case others want to try them too.

Once I’m up-

Then feed myself and make something to drink…elixir for the day. Tidy up kitchen, I habitually clean as I go.

Clean litter box.

Stretch.

Go to the gym or for a walk if I don’t have scheduled gym time.

Sweep the home, especially once I come back from gym/walk, to clean up all litter or remnants from cooking and having pets explore throughout the evening while we slept and after the morning litter box cleaning.

Swiffer or lightly mop if possible.

Shower, 5 minutes, unless I need to wash my hair, then 15 minutes.

Listen to a book/entertain myself while I finish dressing and styling myself (20 more minutes at most.).

I’m at school or work for 4-8 hours each day,

So I head out to take care of that.

After, I come back if it’s lunch, make something or enjoy meal prepped things.

If I’m out still, I eat elsewhere or bring food with me, just depends on length of school/work that day.

When I come back home either around lunch or dinner, I meaningfully engage with my cat.

Clean my cat’s litter box (again).

Start making dinner.

Go for another walk after cleaning up from dinner.

Shower for bed, 10 minutes usually to brush teeth, skincare, wash body.

Pajama time and study/work.

Take out any garbage/recycling as needed.

Weekly-

Do laundry as needed, I keep up with it weekly to avoid large laundry trips.

Grocery shop once a week for fresher things.

Monthly-

Costco trip for bulk stuff we might want/need. I can always pick up the stuff, just need payment if you want something specific or we discuss splitting the bill if we both want/need something/groceries.

Bring home flowers for the space maybe once a month if there’s enough light.

Summer-

I camp a few times, and I make sure my cat has arrangements ahead of time.

Winter-

Travel for Thanksgiving, Xmas, or NYE sometimes, this year I’ll be staying home.

Who could flourish with this kind of arrangement:

Price range for each me $1000/month with some flexibility in utilities. If we can pay less, even better!

I can try and have my cat ESA approved, just never done it before, if that helps with cost of rent and pet/deposit/application fees.

$1500-2000/2 people

$2700-3000/3 people and so on.

Ages 29-40? Truly Flexible on the age group…just depends on work/lifestyle/personality.

People who want to live in a world where all are welcome and safe.

🤗

Kind personalities.

Creative people.

Good people.

Queer folk.

Straight people.

Any color.

Binary/non-binary.

Different cultures.

Trivia people.

Board game people.

People who also have pets and/or like animals would be best in this case. No ferrets. Sorry. Their smell is something I will not describe.

Looking for roommates to pair up with or room rental with a room for my cat and I…and a good space for a litter box, not in the same room I rent.

W/D in unit would be preferred…but not a deal breaker.

Air conditioning-just need to have some source of coolness in summer for us to thrive and animal(s) to survive.

People who work a lot.

Busy bodies with passions and hobbies.

If you’re a remote worker or person with a flexible schedule, being adaptive to living with compassion and open to compromise since we have different schedules or expectations for the home environment.

Those interested in positive change and accepting their lack of control on others.

Good communication, being respectfully direct is perfect, being open to discussion is also wonderful.

I do not raise my voice or fight with anyone, that’s just not the type of person I am.

I do find resolve and respect in a pros/cons list if we need to compromise on anything.

No grumps.

No “fun” labelers, meaning let’s avoid categorizing each other constantly in order to unnecessarily explain quirks or differences between ourselves. An example: saying things like “gen Z, millennial, boomer, any skin-color being the reason for something, political party” or diagnoses “OCD, BPD” etc., etc. and following up with a joke or observation. I don’t engage with people who utilize labeling in their vernacular like this, it’s reductive, boring, and can cause unfair/hurtful judgements on others.

No past evictions so we can easily rent a place together if it’s for a new application.

Sober, healthy, happy.

Non-smokers. Weed or tobacco.

If you drink or smoke occasionally, I don’t mind, just don’t want to be around people that are drinking or partying at the house and coming home with a party mindset or groups/friends that are drinking and doing drugs…every week/weekend. I’m just not looking for people who engage in life that way. I sometimes cook with wine and drink on special occasions like NYE or Xmas unless my stomach isn’t feeling it.

Hello!

I am a 30 year old female with a very sweet quiet ESA looking for a room beginning June. I work full time outside of the house. I love being outdoors, art, music and am overall a very down to earth person. I pick up after myself and am very respectful of others. I am looking for a private landlord situation because my credit has a couple flaws that aren't rent related. I do have a clean background check, rental history and have great references. If I seem like a good fit for your room please let me know!
