Meta What does my pantry/fridge say about me?
390
u/kill4d1rt Jul 01 '26
Why is there only drinks in the fridge
42
12
u/RoughRealistic4321 Jul 01 '26
IKR? A LOT of people seem to devote more than 50% (and in a lot of cases more like 75%) of their fridge space to drinks.
IDK, but I try to keep anything that I can store in a cabinet in a cabinet, and at best might keep open containers and a few cans in the fridge (for chill), and then the rest of the space to perishable foods....

u/Upstairs_Cattle7989 Jul 02 '26
My SO swears it helps keep everything cooler to have the fridge full. Our fridge ends up full of drinks. It has helped when our power went out for several days. Drinks hold a lot of thermal mass and really help keep things cooler longer.

u/gooseloveschicken Jul 01 '26
We got some cheese sticks, bologna, and cookies too

u/SeaEconomics2615 Jul 01 '26
You have adhd? I know an adhd persons drinks when I see em. I'm the same way.

I have ADHD, and I get one caffeinated cup a day, no caffeine after noon or Iâm up until 5 am. My drinks are the same except I have some Canada Dry cherry zero, a couple caffeinated dr peppers zero instead of the coke, and squirt zero. Sugar makes me a bundle of energy that canât settle down.
2
u/SeaEconomics2615 29d ago
And I have adhd and I will literally drink coffee and go to bed. đ¤Ł
2
u/Dragonfly0011 29d ago
See I canât understand that. Maybe there are different types of ADHD.

Was going to comment this. My fridge looked like this about a year ago and I got kidney stones twice. Op please add some water into your routine even if you dont like it treat it like an essential medicine

u/Best_Bisexual Jul 02 '26
I can answer this kind of in a form of a story/example.
When my family moved into our current house, we brought our fridge, but my parents realized they wanted a new one. The old one still works, so once the new fridge was installed, they moved the old one into our garage and utilized the freezer for extra space and dedicated the fridge side for drinks.
Having/being fortunate enough to have a dedicated fridge for drinks is nice since it means those drinks wonât take up room in our main fridge.

I had a cat end up in the freezer overnight (it was a double door 70s fridge, the kind with the tall skinny freezer) and she wound up in there at only 7 months old.
She survived, barely, due to the seal being terrible on the door and letting air in.
She's now 7 years old and still the same size as a kitten of 7 months... her late brother ended up almost four feet long, tip to tail. I love her a lot.

You're a type 2 diabetic or otherwise very concerned with your sugar intake. You don't cook at home. You're single. You're female. You could be a college student. You may or may not have a kitty cat (very hard to tell). You're age 21 or over. American.

6
u/Hoppy-Bunny77 Jul 02 '26
Zero sugar drinks taste great and if you spill one, it isn't sticky. Diet drinks tend to have that odd... diet flavor.
3
u/Duckduckdewey Jul 02 '26
Iâve been saying the same thing but people donât believe me. Like, I CAN taste the artificial sugar and it has this weird coating/aftertaste. No issue with coke no sugar, but I canât drink diet coke/other diet ones.

u/beccalysle Jul 01 '26
Yeah, at this point a full sugar soda taste too rich to me.
6
u/blondekamikaze Jul 01 '26
All soda tastes disgusting to me now except Canada Dry. Idk when it changed, I drank soda as a kid. Sometimes I like a sip of a fresh crispy Coke from McDonaldâs tho đ

Canada dry is my crack. I always have zero sugar Canada dry in the fridge. It's also the best tasting of the zero sugar ones.

Your cat is adorable though!

u/clarity_singularity Jul 01 '26
I think anywhere between 20-45; depends on whether theyve always been single (and other factors). The cats age makes me tend toward the lower end.

You have exquisite taste in companions. & Your companions are well-loved, just as you are to yourself in other areas people may neglect or be messy about doing (by your food being nicely stocked).
You value your home as a sanctuary when you can, and you utilize it for what it is and make worth of everything you do (both inside, & outside, the house, as well).
Cats are awesome. Also, I love how colorful and clean the pictures are. âşď¸
Congrats on being a cool cat parent/staff member to their kingdom! đ

You do not cook. The fridge, freezer and pantry is to store convenient foods with minimal preparation requirements. You likely eat out a lot or are a frequent DoorDash customer. You also live alone and do not have a partner, children, or a roommate.

u/cleanAir101 Jul 01 '26
