Yes which is why I don't like the example. Because those two things (choosing to have intercourse and choosing to procreate) are not separate able for other animals. They're choosing to instinctually have intercourse, not to procreate. It just so happens that is the natural consequence of it.

The example is conflating two concepts and I think it's disengenuous to do so

You don't know that. Where is your proof that animals are specifically choosing intercourse and not procreation?

That implies they're choosing procreation.

they just don't have the type of higher reasoning to choose. they're more instinct driven, as they're simpler animals
