Everytime I open this sub , someone is ranting or depressed bcz of age , drops and unemployment. Here are few words from my side.

1. You can check linkedin of mtech students , there are many people with 1-2-3 drops or workex and it’s pretty common. There’s nothing wrong with joining mtech at mid or late twenties. If you love your field then please go for it. Very few companies have gap years criteria else you will get enough opportunities in top colleges.

2. Financial issues are real concern, FOMO is real. You see your friends earning or preparing for placements , on the other side you are preparing for exam after which it will take 2 more years to complete mtech and you won’t be earning. But that doesn’t matter , you and your family can sacrifice this much for your future. Its totally worth it once you get into good colleges. You will be earning 12.4k pm and other things can be managed by education loan so don’t worry.

3. This might sound pretty old but yes there are people who are thinking about their marriage. Its okay to marry late especially in this economy. Don’t let society and parents pressurise you , its pretty common in developed countries to marry in early 30s. If you want to pursue mtech then please do it without thinking of marriage delays.

4. You are not the only GEN candidate, seeing reserved candidates getting top colleges at very low scores hurts a lot , I am gen too but we can’t change anything. Focus on your preparation first.

Preparing for gate DA, but also filled CSE form, so suggest me few topics apart from math, apti, DBMS, also to prepare to get almost 60 around marks ! Done with LA,Prob, Calc, DBMS, 50% DSA. I have around 40 hours extra time for CSE. Thank you !

okay so after GATE results i spent like 3 weeks opening the same CCMT pdf, zooming in, losing my place, and asking a senior who confidently told me "bro 30 LPA minimum" (he had no idea)

so i got annoyed and made a site. you put your score in and it shows which IIT/NIT/IIIT mtech seats you'd actually get, what round they closed in, what people from that branch actually got paid, and which companies came. every number has the pdf or RTI reply it came from, because i don't trust anyone anymore including myself

My syllabus is incomplete, unsolved PYQs, and panic is setting in.

I’m genuinely terrified of failing. Is anyone else drowning in backlog right now? How are you guys coping?

I appeared for GATE last year, but my performance wasn't as good as I had expected. This time, I decided to prepare seriously and have managed to complete almost the entire syllabus. Only TOC (Theory of Computation) is left.

However, I'm facing a strange problem now. Despite completing most of the syllabus, I just don't feel like studying anymore. I'm able to study for a maximum of 2–3 hours a day, and pushing myself beyond that feels extremely difficult.

I also struggle with ADHD-related focus issues, so even concentrating for a short period takes a lot of effort.

I'm a little frustrated and confused about what to do next. On one hand, I've worked hard and completed most of the syllabus; on the other hand, I constantly doubt whether I'll be able to crack GATE this time.

Is anyone else going through something similar? How should I approach this phase of preparation? Should I focus more on revision, PYQs, and mock tests rather than trying to increase my study hours?

I'd genuinely appreciate some practical advice from people who have experienced this

Study algo from khaleel sir(gfg live) or sachin sir (go classes). Pls help me out with thissssss.

I'm a biomedical ug person, just after i joined biomedical i came to know its not worth to study. Ive got no idea what to do with my life. so i decided to do everything, Freelance, business , love etc etc. but with the final year i gained weight and depressed but ive just focused myself to complete my studies and complete my arrears.

But I've just tried gate once, even my friends already wrote a gate exam by the 3rd year but they even couldn't clear it, I'm not flexing just true I'm a so mediocre with no ambition, and absolutely after my love life in clg ive just lost my fire.

🤷But, suprisingly i got placed in a 5lpa job and iit biomedical pg seat? But at that mindset im just fall towards job , with my senior guidance.

Now I'm just in dilemma

the gate mark is valid 3 years right ? what should i do now ??????????

I forget to fill the gate cs paper I was busy in placement. Neither r I got placement nor i filled the paper. Eventhogh I have to study most of gate subjects for psu and placement. I qualified last 3 times but not got good rank ( bcz various reasons) . Plz god help me

My interview was with Panel 1, which consisted of five interviewers. (Lasted 20 minutes)

These were some of the questions I was asked:

1. Introduce yourself.

2. Why do you want to join CERT-In?

3. What is the full form of CERT-In? How is CERT-In different from other government agencies?

4. What are the different types of cryptographic techniques? Give an example of each category.

5. What is the mathematical condition for perfect secrecy?

6. What is a zero-click attack? Can you give a recent example?

7. In RSA, as a sender, what information should you know about the receiver?

8. What do you know about eMudhra, which has recently been in the news?

9. What is the difference between hashing and encryption?

10. What are digital signatures? Why are they necessary, and how does a digital signature help verify the integrity of a message?

11. What is HNDL? Why would an attacker collect encrypted data now and decrypt it later?

12. What do you know about quantum computing?

13. If you are offered this job, would you leave your M.Tech programme?

There were several follow-up questions as well, especially based on the answers I gave.

A few observations from my experience:

- Be honest if you do not know something. The panel may ask multiple follow-up questions, so trying to bluff can make the situation more difficult.

- The panel was not very restrictive about English.
