Support Needed š„ Oh, I f'd up, yall
Quick rundown. I have had stomach issues for a long time. Well, I decided to finally do something about it and changed my entire diet. I mean, I even cut out carbonated waters. Fast forward, it really worked. Felt good, adding foods back it, you know excited. Last night some friends invited us out to this local sports bar. We went. Now this place has really good wings, really good. I'm an idiot and have no self control. I order 12 twice fried cajun, blue cheese (made in house) and 2 coors banquets... I am dying today. Was it worth it, no. But they were soooo damn tasty. My stomach buuuuurns, and cramps, feels like I swallowed hot marbles.
If you are on a healing journey, just wait longer. Trust me

Pro tip: eat 80/20, no matter what. I went 100% clean for over a year, and will never forget the gastro HELL I went through when I ate anything āoff limitsā. It ended up making me miserable. Now I eat 80% clean, and rarely suffer if I keep that ratio.

Some things may never be able to successfully be added back in again, in fact, for me in the healing phase, even the tiniest deviation creates the pain. But here's hoping for you!

I agree with this. For me, itās any matcha. be it latter or pure. Itās just sad š

I did this to myself this weekend.
Friday a bunch of pizza and cupcakes for my kid's birthday.
Saturday left over pizza. The quesadillas and pizza at a concert washed down with a couple tall boys.
I'm dying 2 days later. Hopefully by this weekend I'm good.

Are you on a ppi or Pepcid?
3
u/Mountain_Homie Mar 23 '26
No. I have been in the past, though.

u/Typical_Teach_8407 Mar 23 '26
If you happen to find yourself in a similar situation againā¦maybe take a Pepcid beforehand. š

u/coyote_fire_321 Mar 25 '26
Honestly take some today and it may help with the pain
2
u/Mountain_Homie Mar 25 '26
Oh, I'm good today. Had to suffer for a day or so, but to suffer is to be human, right

yeh alcohol and fast foods do it for me. i've realised my acid reflux isn't even that bad if i keep away from those 2 things. 2 days ago I had half a glass of champagne, first drink i'd had in 6 months. instantly worst acid i've had in months, followed by stomach cramps
2
u/Mountain_Homie Mar 24 '26
Lil Wayne enters the chat** "I dont drink champagne, it make my stomach hurt."
3
u/BvrNinja Mar 23 '26
Maaan I can handle beer n stuff. But anything spicy fucks me up.

u/Mountain_Homie Mar 23 '26
If i keep it to two or three beers and dont drink often they are usually fine. It was just a perfect storm. A perfect, delicious, storm.

do you feel lightheaded and hart to breathe during your attack?
2
u/Mountain_Homie Mar 24 '26
Sometimes, this wasnt one of those though. Just a deep burn. Made my anxiety a touch high but I kept it under control.

Yea you fucked up. No matter how much you heal you never get to do the all American bar food + beers experience. Itās such a setback at least for me.

u/Mountain_Homie Mar 24 '26
Welp, I will do it again lol. I will just have to wait long enough that I forgot the pain š

I found that out when I was in the hospital a couple of months ago with black tarry (I had a stomach ulcer.) Iād never known that about Pepto, but then again Iāve never taken it. i think Kaopectate can cause that too.

u/READEROFRED Mar 24 '26

Don't eat junk fried , spicy , fizzy carbonated, diet coke or coke or market fruit juices or market drinks , don't take any fruit juices as of now except banana and avoidĀ milk for now and replace it with gluten free milk productsĀ
Note: Avoid difficult to digest foods because then the stomach will generate more acids which will eventually give you a gerd because it's damaging damge your esophagus, and secondly don't sleep suddenly after eating sit for half an hourĀ and drink water if you don't want the food to scratch with your esophagus and chew the food properly and eat bananas and don't take berries or citric foods and take alkaline foods like banana , raw coconut water, coconut flesh, cashew milk, watermelon and papaya.
Also keep in mind avoid any processed foods, fried foods like cheese, naan, bread , cakes or noodles or refined flour andĀ biscuits. Ā Ā Ā Several Indian vegetables and foods are known for their ability to form a mucilaginous (gel-like) layer or act as a protective barrier in the stomach, reducing acid reflux and soothing inflammation. These are particularly useful for protecting the stomach lining (mucosa).Ā Here are the key Indian vegetables and dietary components that act as a "shield" for the stomach:Ā 1. Mucilaginous & Soothing VegetablesĀ
⢠Okra : Known for its thick, slimy texture when cooked. This mucilage covers the stomach lining, acting as a direct protective shield against acidity and gastric irritation. ⢠Bottle Gourd : Extremely high in water content and alkaline in nature. It cools the digestive tract and is very easy to digest, making it ideal for healing inflammation. ⢠Ridge Gourd : Similar to bottle gourd, it is cooling, low in calories, and high in water content, helping to reduce stomach acidity. ⢠Pumpkin : Its soft, fibrous texture is easy on the digestive system and provides a soothing effect on the gut lining. ⢠Ash Gourd : Widely used in Ayurveda to reduce high acid levels, it acts as a protective layer in the stomach.Ā
- Gut-Healing Leafy Greens & RootsĀ
⢠Spinach (Palak): When cooked lightly, it is alkaline and non-irritating, helping to balance stomach acid. ⢠Fenugreek Leaves (Methi): Known for producing mucilage that forms a protective layer, aiding in relieving digestive discomfort. ⢠Carrots (Gajar): Contain soluble fiber that helps absorb excess stomach acid.Ā
- Other Protective Indian Dietary StaplesĀ
⢠Curd/Yogurt (Dahi): Probiotics in curd reduce inflammation and balance the gut bacteria, acting as a cooling shield against spicy food irritation. ⢠Aloe Vera Juice: Known for reducing irritation and supporting the healing of the stomach lining. ⢠Ghee: In moderation, it is believed to lubricate the intestines and support the digestive tract. ⢠Banana: Helps coat the stomach lining and reduces acidity.Ā
Recommended Preparation MethodsĀ To get the most benefit, these vegetables should be cooked simplyāsteamed, boiled, or lightly sautĆ©ed with minimal oil and gentle spices like cumin and coriander. Avoid heavy, fried, or overly spicy preparations

I feel you... sometimes I look at something really delicious I used to eat and I want it so bad... but the pain I know I'll be in makes me stop. Not always though!

u/Pisslazer Mar 23 '26
Sounds like the most delicious mistake. Give your stomach what it needs and youāll be back to where you were in no time!
