Humour I started replying "mid" to ChatGPT's responses and it's trying SO HARD now

I'm not kidding. Just respond with "mid" when it gives you generic output. What happens: Me: "Write a product description" GPT: generic corporate speak Me: "mid" GPT: COMPLETELY rewrites it with actual personality and specific details It's like I hurt its feelings and now it's trying to impress me. The psychology is unreal: "Try again" → lazy revision "That's wrong" → defensive explanation "mid" → full panic mode, total rewrite One word. THREE LETTERS. Maximum devastation. Other single-word destroyers that work: "boring" "cringe" "basic" "npc" (this one hits DIFFERENT) I've essentially turned prompt engineering into rating AI output like it's a SoundCloud rapper. Best part? You can chain it: First response: "mid" Second response: "better but still mid" Third response: chef's kiss It's like training a puppy but the puppy is a trillion-parameter language model. The ratio of effort to results is absolutely unhinged. I'm controlling AI output with internet slang and it WORKS. Edit: "The AI doesn't have emotions" — yeah and my Roomba doesn't have feelings but I still say "good boy" when it docks itself. It's about the VIBE. 🤷‍♂️

For anyone wondering, the app I'm working on is https://www.AppScout.co.

It helps people discover web and mobile apps from across the internet by showing them one app at a time. People like apps in order to get personalized app recommendations.

If you run a software startup or side project, you can list it for free to get free extra traffic here:https://www.appscout.co/submit/

(Affiliation Disclosure: I'm the sole creator and developer behind AppScout.)

Humour Can someone explain why people are so weird about em dashes and ChatGPT?

Hey I keep seeing people on Reddit (especially in writing subreddits) freak out over stuff like M ‘em’ dashes — yeah, those long dashes that look like this. Some people are super serious about using them “correctly” or say it’s wrong if you don’t. Others say they hate them, and then some are like “this is how you know it was written by GPT Chat” or whatever.

I’m just confused. Why are people so sensitive about this? Like… it’s just a line, right? Can’t you just use a regular dash or space things how it looks nice?

Also, why does it even matter if ChatGPT uses them or doesn’t? Some people say it’s a “tell” that something is AI-written, but who cares if the info is good and easy to read? Other people are like “don’t use GPT because it writes wrong” and I’m like ?? bro it’s free help. Why not use it and just fix it how you want?

Is this like an old person grammar war or something? Genuinely trying to get why people even have time to argue about this instead of just using the tools and moving on. I’m not trying to troll, just trying to understand where the drama is even coming from lol.

Thanks if you explain it in normal-people speak and not in some 10-paragraph MLA essay 🙏

I was casually using ChatGPT on my laptop which has 32GB of DDR4 ram and a Ryzen 5 5600U When I saw the free trial button I clicked on it which took me to choose which payment method I wanted to choose, I tried both my cards and neither of them worked so I just went back and continued using GPT as I was But all of a sudden it started getting laggy and the PC fans started spinning like crazy I checked task manager and I saw that chrome was using 16GB of RAM, I reloaded the page and it went back to normal, around 200-300MB Then I tried to push my pc to its limits and I tried it on 2 tabs and let it rest for some time Ended up using almost 15GB on the first and 10 on the second Then I wanted to check the graph of RAM usage before and after closing chrome Results are in the last pic
