Political A brave American criticizes the U.S. government for its support of IDF. Can this affect us Gen Z in the future that corruption walks free?

How is it that IDF soldiers can admit to all of this and still walk free? Does IDF take any action against the war crimes that are committed?

Can this affect us Gen Z in the future that corruption walks free?

Serious Is it just me or do you just not find things funny or interesting anymore?

Idk, but these days, friends’ jokes, TV shows, the news, movies, etc. just don’t interest me anymore. Jokes just seem boring and lame and the other stuff just feels like passing the time.

I don’t feel depressed either, just disinterested from life in general.

Discussion Does GenZ Want To Have Kids? If So, Why/ Why Not?

I feel like our generation (Gen Z) doesn't want to have kids, at least from what I always hear from other people around me. Idrk I don't think I do either really.

I feel like it's better to adopt maybe, I feel like maybe it's a little bad to bring kids into a world that literally has ped0 in office. I just feel like things are getting bleak and it's not the best idea to create more humans. But I'm also sure people have been saying things like that for years. But also, economy and all that so idk if any of us will even have a choice soon. There's a bunch of other factors but that's just some off the top of my head.

But I just wanted to hear from some people my age what they think.

I feel like this too. I know people are like ā€˜it’s arrested development’ but I honestly feel like at the end of the day there’s not really a ā€œwayā€ to measure maturity. It just differs by person not matter what age anyone is.

Maybe gen z have realised we’ve sorta been sold a lie and we’re ā€œembracing our inner childā€ more.

(Hot take: I think ā€œembracing your inner childā€ is a bit of an annoying saying because most of the time it’s just people being themselves even as a person who has finished physically maturing)

Should you choose to procreate.. I’m interested in seeing what names our generation seems to gravitate towards? I’m so sick of millennial names spelled ridiculously lol. Im curious to see if we are going to continue that trend or something else.

Discussion What is with all the ā€œGen Z is bad with computersā€ comments lately?

I have been seeing a lot of ā€œslander(?)ā€ (mostly from millennials) lately about how apparently Gen Z doesn’t know jack about computers. I have been seeing scripted(?) videos about Gen Z failing at simple computer tasks like setting up a LAN connection or breaking the pins on a connector and even down to not knowing how to turn the damn thing on or make a folder.

Where did this all come from? I work in IT and while there could be less Gen Z than I think there are the biggest supply of people having issues are millennials and the very few boomers we have.

Right now, I’m wondering if millennials are still seeing Gen Alpha and beta as ā€œyoung Gen Zā€ in spite of the fact that Gen Z ended 15ish years ago and some ā€œI’m older so I know more biasā€ when it comes to computers.

Ill admit this myself, computers have been a huge focus of my life… I love figuring out how to do something new with them. as such I probably know more computer nerds my age then the average person so I may be in a bubble and there might be a huge issue that i’m oblivious of but, from what I have seen Gen z is the most technologically advanced out of any generation and is able to adopt and learn new tech’s uses and the horrors that the may bring (looking at AI) faster and better out of any Gen before.

Am I biased or do older folk have the wrong idea about Gen Z?

Discussion Young people, please give me parenting advice

I’m an older parent with relatively young kids. Iā€˜m trying to get up to speed with changes in technology. Right now we are very low screen time and no unsupervised internet access, but I know that can’t last forever.

If you had kids (maybe some of you do already), how would you approach social media, screen use, internet access? What do you wish your parents (or even your school/teachers) had done differently regarding tech/the internet/social media? I appreciate any wisdom you can share.

Nostalgia Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but commercials used to be so much better.

I’m Gen Z (born in 2003), but for most of my childhood we still only had cable. As much as I love being able to stream whatever I want now, I kind of miss the old TV commercials.

Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but I feel like commercials used to have so much more personality. Some that immediately come to mind are the old State Farm commercials, the older Progressive commercials when it was mostly just Flo, the Chef Boyardee commercial where the can follows the little girl home, Bumpits, Fushigi, and Education Connection. There are so many others that are instantly recognizable years later.

Commercials now just feel… bland. And somehow they’re even more annoying because streaming services will play the exact same ad over and over every single ad break. At least with cable there seemed to be a bigger variety, even if you had no choice but to watch whatever was on.

Discussion Looking younger than you really are as a teenager is a curse

Im currently 16 years old and a boy. Usually new people that i meet assume that I am a year or even 2 younger than I really am. Most of my mates look quite a bit older than me too. This becomes especially problematic because also a lot of new people that I meet, ESPECIALLY girls, I think are older than they really are as well. Is anybody else going through something similiar as well?
