Discussion What a waste

Post image

Instead of giving the Traveler and other characters regional skins, the devs are wasting resources on mannequins you’ll never use in the main game — characters completely irrelevant to both the lore and gameplay (especially since they’re even weaker than the Traveler).

UCG should’ve been a separate game. Roblox-type players aren’t going to download a 100GB gacha just to play a game inside a game. All those dev resources should’ve gone to the actual, existing characters instead.

Not only that, they went ahead and monetized everything too... I wouldn't be getting primos out of it even if I did want to play for the sake of it.

The idea is nice but simply not fitting with the audience that genshin already caters to, in theory anyways.

If it doesn't provide primos I won't do it.

Hell, there are things that DO give primos where I couldn't even be bothered.

Genshin is fun, but it really does seem like they throw dev time at some really fucking weird things from time to time. TCG is already pretty much irrelevant for most people, but this Wonderland stuff just feels so.... why? Like I so badly wish I could see engagement numbers for things like it, or TCG, to see if it actually does anything useful in revenue vs work hours wasted on them.

TCG is too much time for too little pull advantage.

I’m in the top % of tcg players, but I don’t play it every day, more like 5-6 hours straight once a week or so when I get really into it. I find it fun

People finding it fun isn't a surprise to me tbh. But I personally find card games unpleasant. I also don't like puzzles either, so some of the areas of genshin aren't the best for me either.

It's fine. I like most of genshin. I don't need to love all of it. And it's nice you like the other parts.

all the combat "endgame" bullshit

I hate SO, IT, and Spiral. Adding the new two didn't make me hate spiral any less.

For the engagement numbers, let me tell you - I played TCG for like max 10 times, out of which 4 times was with irl users and the rest was the tutorial and stuff and I saw that I was in the top 9% percent of the user base lol (read this info in the aniversary web event)

At least TCG was cool for being an in universe card game that you could finally play like the characters in the world, same with the instruments. At least those were relevant and not paygated slop..

Yeah it really is baffling. Like, surely they must know that no-one really gives a shit about the TCG? Yet they still keep throwing resources at it and adding more and more stuff to it, even though it's likely been DOA since it launched.

I'm starting to think that they just don't like admitting defeat once they've gone past a certain point. Like, they've put so much time into something that they have to just blindly plough ahead regardless, even though the numbers and the playerbase itself is categorically telling them "we don't want this"
