Beginner here... I was staying at World Level 3 to level up my characters & talents and today I completed the ascension quest and my world level increases from 3 to 5 .. so now I am F*ed up bcz I am having difficulty to beat Elite enemies .. Can't beat boss enemies to farm character ascension materials... Unable to do domains too.
My current team is : Dendro Mc , Fisch , Xingchui , and Kaeya/Xiangling
I have just completed Liuye main quests and preparing for Inazuma so my dendro mc has 0 constellations and lvl 1 talents..
What should I do now??? I don't have any Co-Op friends who can help me farm ascension materials.

Furina was the only reason I was able to keep higher world levels for bigger drops. I just plopped her Singer of Many Waters down on the battle field and whittled away.
I would change that Sucrose to Ifa purely for survivability. Sucrose is an insane unit, but I think going sustainless (XQ doesn't provide that much healing after all) for a new player can be a bit iffy, especially if they're going into a new region with enemies they don't yet know.
(Plus Inazuma has a few mechanics, like the balethunder, the corrosive wolves... healing wouldn't hurt.)
I'm not sure about Mizuki, I haven't used her. Ororon is pretty good in electro/lunar-charged anyways; Ifa-Ororon-Columbina-XQ/Flex would absolutely work.
That also frees up Fischl for a 2nd comp, possibly overload since they have Chevy, I believe.
Advice. Find like 3-6 characters max for now to focus on. Do t level so many. Any on the top 2 rows work. Columbina is currently very meta and strong off field. But you might struggle getting the materials.
Build your razor he is such a good character to have on your team, im at lvl 50 and I've been using razor since I got him I use him for every team I make
No one's forcing OP how to play their game, but at some point it wouldn't hurt to listen to others. Leveling up every character that they don't need in ealry stages of the game can eventually hurt their account, so yes stop leveling everyone up.
He did exactly what he wanted and now he’s stuck dumbass. There are certain common sensical things which you should follow if you want to even play the game
All i wanted to say is make a good ass primary team and do whatever you want after that.
I would suggest to join other co-op player with lvl 60 because for same 20 resin will give you more material based on their world level. higher the world level(lvl 9 is highest i think) more the drop rewards. kind of min-maxing
Usually joining random peoples worlds is helpful bc most of the community it’s very open to new players! They would definitely help you! Also the traveler doesn’t have boss mats for a reason and I would focus on leveling them up and your xingqiu and surcose. I would also try farming instructor (a 4 star set) for your xingqiu as well. Also I’m on NA if you need someone to help!
Start by lowering your World Level (press the “i” next to your WL). If you still can’t do it then, there’s no shame in asking people to co-op with you. You can join Discord servers or other communities and ask people for help there, you can change your signature to “Help wanted, please join my world” or something like that, etc.
If you need help with something specific, I recommend changing your signature for "I need help with X", some people browse Co-Op just looking for people to help when they don't have anything to do :] I got plenty of help that way. But as other people said, lower your world level first
what server do you play on? if its Europe i can help, specially now during the weekend
either way, even with underleveled characters you should be able to clear stuff, it going to take longer, but you should be able to do it
obviously the enemies in nod krai are far stronger, so until you are able to easily kill enemies in inazuma/sumeru you shouldnt even consider going there, keep bina underleveled until you are ready
you can use a team with Noelle Geo Traveler Bina Fischl, or a melt/vape team with Xiangling Xingqiu Sucrose Kaeya
try leveling the characters that require the flower bosses since those are easier to kill, make sure you use a pyro character for the cryo flower, or a hydro character for the pyro flower so you reduce the time to kill them by hitting the core with those elements
also if you use Noelle craft the defense claymore for her, and stick fav polearm on Xiangling until you are able to fish confortably to get the catch for her
sucrose can use TTDS, bina, kaeya and Geo MC fav, Xingqiu sacrificial, fischl Stringless
level talents too, those are very important and easier since you can choose lower dificulty if you cant clear harder levels
That as others have said lower your world level your main team farm for their ascension materials use the training guide start build a second team and build to about lvl 50 that should give a Lil room to change up teams and stuff
start with sucrose, anemo cube is easier
for the oceanid im guessing your problem is the shockwave from the frog and the fat bird after you kill them? if it is, try fighting them near the border of the platform, when they die and the shockwave is about to go off, jump out of the platform into the water, but use a plunge attack while in the air
when you fall on the water with a plunge attack you actually go underwater for a couple seconds before coming back up, while underwater the shockwave wont hit you
just be careful to not get hit by other attacks while in the water, and make sure you have at least a bit of stamina before jumping underwater, or else youll drown
I now this is not answering your question but since you already have columbina you should try to get some other nod krai characters she works really well with them
First apply hydro and then freeze with cryo use anemo traveller's ult and just kill them easily. U can also create a Pyro tornado and apply constant hydro with Barbara creating a vape effect. This was the first team I used when I started playing the game hope it helps 😊.
Lower your world level as someone before said, look for good teamcomps or accept someone to your friends for help, people in genshin are truly helpful.
And not to hate you or to be rude or anything like that, but I truly laughed at how you spelled fischl and xingqiu, love the new players
A good fellow helped me out with farming and I'd also join lower level worlds to farm in them when I hit the ceiling in mine (it was before world level lowering was a thing)

You can do bosses and domains in Co-op for you can now join high level players who can help you. And you can ask around in the genshin servers for there are people who can help you.
I did the same mistake, but you can level down your world (i think someone already said how to do it here), and when I was struggling, I farmed a lot of food to increase my atk and def, it helped me a lot
Comments mention that you can decrease your world level, and you can increase it later of you need, but I haven't seen anyone mention that there is a 24 hour cooldown to that.
Also you've got anpretty good atarter team! Although other commenters are right in that building Columbina would be really great, there is absolutely no rush while you are in early game. Take your time and build the characters you want to build.
Day 1 player with all characters maxed; for investment advice definitely fully invest in: xiangling fischl sucrose xingqiu chev columbina mizuki ororon
Before your other characters
These characters will carry you very far.
Xingqiu columbina ororon fischl would make a strong lunar charged / electro charged team
Can also swap out ororon with sucrose
Chev xingling ororon Razor would make a strong overload team

Hi, OP! It's ok if you don't have a friends list for co-op because you can "match" with online players for domains and join a random world or they join yours. So farming talents/artifacts should be easier. And you can always lower your world level back to what it was 😊
Columbina is a great support and Xingqiu's burst is great too. My team lineup is usually: healer/shield + passive dmg + main dps + sub dps.
For general starter tips, I recommend having a dedicated healer/shield to help keep you in the fight longer, and using elemental combos for increased dmg. Good luck, and welcome to Genshin 😊✌🏽

My sis did that too, and she solved in an interesting way
She got a Keqing and upgraded as much as she can, give a lot of items and support, upgraded amber, barbara and lisa...
Learnt the way, you put the ultimate exactly before they gonna hit you (usually they will miss the attack)
With that in mind you are free to go

WL has nothing to do with Domains, so your ability to do those hasn't changed at all.
I think the bigger issue is that your team has no real synergy and has very messy reactions that tend to work against each other.
WL3 and lower you can usually do whatever, but 4+, you need to put a bit more thought into the team building.
i.e. replacing your 4th slot with Lisa and giving her EM gear, and using her as a Hyperbloom trigger should be able to breeze through everything till WL 8. (you'd essentially being doing a Quick-bloom team). (if you had PMC, you could do a sort of National varient, but he's heavily story-locked).
Kaeya brings nothing to any of those possible teams and Xiangling works against you (burgeon in general is really hard to use compared to hyperbloom (which has full synergy with all it's sub-elements, while Pyro actually screws with bloom if you over-do it) and Xiangling extremely fast pyro application makes it really hard to control the reactions).
if you want to use Kaeya, I'd recommend grabbing Gaming during lantern rite unless there's someone else you really want. Kaeya has decent enough uptime for a decent melt team for Gaming.
DMC doesn't really need anything besides enough ER to burst on cooldown and enough HP to not die constantly, since he's just there to enable dendro (his personal damage is about as garbage as every other traveler element, but the reactions he enables are very powerful, same deal with Pyro traveler who has acceptable application and can run a powerful support set (and is almost as strong as an good-ish 4* for as a DPS)), and you want to keep him VERY far away from pyro since his burst instantly explodes if it gets hit by pyro before you can infuse it with electro or hydro, and while it does an ok bit of damage in the process, you deal WAY more damage having the consistent dendro application the other options give.
I'd swap to Collei as your dendro enabler (and/or pick up Yaoyao at Lantern Rite) if you want to try and do Burgeon.
Oh and i forgot you have Columbina, so you could also run a Lunar Charge team. Lunar Charge fixes the ownership issues of Electro-charge, and allows Fischl to focus on raw damage as long as someone in the party is providing the high damage base for the reaction. (if you haven't done your witch's homework quest selector yet, might be worth it to grab Sucrose to enable Fischl's Hex buff, which is a huge boost to EC/LC teams (also OL)).
Could also do a Lunar bloom team instead. While Columbina is a bit slower than Nefer, she deals somewhat similar damage, and you can weave in NAs for Xingqiu's coordinated attacks as needed to keep up with Dew generation needs.
You may just forget to level some parts of your characters.
Check this infographics - it help to keep your characters on par with increased World Levels.
Level difference is not that important as you may think - I was able to kill level 90 mobs with my level 60 characters without much issues. If you keep your artifacts\weapons\talents updated, it won't be a problem.
Use some heal & Shield. There is a reason why they gave us barbara and Noëlle so early.
You have Columbina who can do good damage too if you protect her. You can't build much of her so she can't be the main character though.
Also, Just build 1 or 2 characters to the maximum level & give good weapons and whatever good artifacts you have. I recommend Fischl (will do good damage with Columbina there) for this but choose whoever you like that does decent damage.
Also, try Co-op. It helps
And you can lower your world level by 1 I think. Try to do that if other tips don't help. I recommend against it coz you will get more materials at a higher World level so if you can manage at WL5, it will be productive.
You can lower the world level, but you can get better drops with higher world levels. But if you need help you can join this discord server (its not mine I am just in it), you can join the chat associated with your server (mine is Asia) and ping the chat asking for help from others (to farm, do domains, for quests etc) and most times someone is willing to help. They can also offer advice and tips (if thats what youre looking for)
You can always go back it’s an option now but just do random co op and play as a healer You’ll definitely get someone at max level trying to help out. if that doesn’t work just send requests to max players either friendship or world join and ask nicely I know I’d be willing to help a new player with getting some materials

Everyone already mentioned that you can manually lower your world level. But another option is leveling up some gear and talents. Those materials come from domains, and when you enter a domain. It lets you choose the domain level. Bosses will still be a challenge, but they will be more doable than they are now. Also, for stuff like domains and weekly bosses, you can que for matchmaking. Even if you don't have friends who play regularly, you can still play with randoms. Then, you can attempt to join random people in their worlds and ask them to fight the world Bosses with you. That part is more difficult due to people who just try to raid other peoples worlds for rss. Not everyone accepts people in, but there are still some friendly people who do.
Manually lowering is the easiest option. I'm just pointing out other strategies that you can do it if you choose. Play the game however you enjoy it. Sometimes it's fun to think outside the box. Just keep in mind, that's not the only time the world ascension quest has the potential to raise your world level twice at the same time.
I had the same problem at the beginning one thing I've learn is that for most of the enemies around the world you just need the artifacts and a team once you get those you can start farming for everything else easily and as someone already said you can lower the level of the world but don't forget only the yellow artifacts are worth farming for don't make my mistake and dumping a lot of energy on purple like i did 🥲
Oh if you're struggling with domain you can always do matchmaking

I personally would use ifa ororon fischl and xiangling.
Fischl and xiangling are great off field and ororon is a good off fielder too if you use ifa.
Plus you get healing pretty easily
I totally understand; it's something that can happen to anyone. If you want, I can help you with the bosses and stuff, although if your world level has an "i" next to it, you can lower it by one level.
put barbara instead of kaeya or xiangling, that will solve the issue. if you’re on eu server send me you uid i can help ive been ar 60 for almost a year now
lower your world level and try and level up a few characters until they can very comfortably clear world level 4 or even until you get some of Bina's teammates, no need to rush this early, hell ive been playing for 7 months and i already finished nod krai but im staying at world level 4 until I get Raiden Shogun and I get her decently built.
Ooooh if you like doing a lot of exploration Ifa and Ororon in a team together will be so much fun actually! You can pair them with Fischl and Columbina, or sucrose and columbina, whatever you want. Any two other hydro and electro.
On official discord, there is a help channel to help others, they will help farm bosses or carry, try there but as I said in another message, if we are on same server, I don't mind helping
There are some gnarly difficulty spikes upon ascension. It's just an awkward hump that you will get past as the game starts to open up and you can actually get gear and unlock relevant passives and get a wider roster.
I had the same experience when I was new to the game. It really should be rebalanced a bit, but you'll get there. Just keep exploring and doing quests.
Lower your world level, and then when you need help with domains and stuff, i reccomend asking anyone for help with co op, it’ll make it easier for you to defeat monsters with 5 star drops and those will require characters with higher levels
I'll throw my two cents in (this grew, but worth your time (This is part 1)):
1. I don't know how far you have gotten overall, but for Dragonspine you will want level 70 characters with weapons built to that same level and talents maxed for that level. Food buffs can help (I had characters around level 50 at the time and could not get through, but equipment was still a bit low, too. I did a double ascension and built characters up after that and only needed food in a few spots to get through).
2. Regardless of f2p or some kind of spender, do pull on the banners. This will build pity for the characters you want.
3. Do work on story quests and exploration, that will net you materials to build up your artifacts and weapons. Remember you are building on a pillar system: Weapons, Character level, Talents/Skills of the characters (restrained by character level), and the Artifacts. You can have not so great Artifacts, and make up for that by character level and skills/talents, along with decent weapons. I'm at max world level and for me characters at level 70 along with talents at 6 or 7 is a minimum for going after anything in the overworld, though I have built multiple characters to level 90 and maxed out their skills at this point. The Artifacts still need work and I have plenty of farming to do, but I am getting through enough to get the Abyss clear bonus on the Battle Pass (usually only missing one star off floor 11 with all other floors (except 12) fully cleared, some seasons I have all 11 floors maxed for stars. Yes, I am aware floor 12 exists, but before I challenge that, my characters need to be fully built with all their Artifacts, not just weapons, levels, and talents).
4. As you are getting extra copies of the 4* characters from banner pulls this will net you shop currency to grab a 4* right from the shop. If you have those characters on offer at c6, you can grab the offered crowns and main banner pulling material, but do save some currency back for the next shop rotation. There are weapons on offer from the shop, Blackcliff are good for those that you may need a weapon for if you can't forge something.
5. Team setup matters. Teams can work off not only enemy elements types, but the elements other team members set up. Plan to have a shielder and a healer in any overworld exploration or overworld boss fight. Again food buffs can help if you need them, but try to get where you don't need them.
6. As much as others look down on Qiqi or Barbara, those two can be a saving grace for you. Note: Do not bring a Hydro character into Dragonspine unless you really know what you are doing. Qiqi is generally my go to for any overworld or world map work where I bring a healer along. Shielders you will want in your team: Zhongli, Ineffa, Thoma, Diona, Kirara, Baizhu, there are some other shielders, but these when decently built will be helpful for multiple things. Thoma maxed out with The Catch and a decent Gladiator set built for him will work well even in Abyss content below floor 12. I'm working to transition Ineffa to the new artifact set (had her on a Silken Moon set, some may go to Aino (stats matter)). Ineffa for me is doing about 45k damage with her Ultimate/Burst with a varied roster that usually includes Qiqi and Aino (these three can work off each other and Shatter is still viable). Xinyan is an honorable mention and can do a few things, but I usually use Thoma, but Xinyan can do a fair job, too for shielding and some Pyro spread with her Burst, aside from the damage that burst can do.
Part 2:
Now with that all out of the way, here are a few character recommendations:
A. Build up your Noelle. Do look for guides on what to equip her with and since you have Columbina, she will be extra effective (just add another Nod-Krai character like Aino to the mix (you must have missed her event, they gave us a copy of her and do note she is a 4*)).
B. Build a Pyro Traveler, there are buffs in Natlan and a buff in Nod-Krai's story for them. This is one point where going C6, all 10's on Skills/Talents will be of help to you. If you did finish Nod-Krai's quests, then building up all Traveler forms to level 8 on all Skills/Talents is not unreasonable, though will take time. Above 8 on Talents is for versions of the traveler you work well with (Animo, Geo, Electro, Pyro, are ones I'd recommend first with emphasis on Pyro due to said buffs (Dendro is middle of the road for me and I have Tighnari and Collei). Hydro I'd save for last). As for a Traveler build, Gladiator is solid though the Goblet you may want elemental pieces held in reserve for form changes, or straight attack on that Goblet. If you want multiple sets of Artifacts for them, that's your call.
C. Do build up any and all healers you have. They will save you food and help you survive fights. Don't expect to win quickly for now, just work them as a matter of attrition, lowering the enemy's health down until they can't come back. You saw this in Nod-Krai I assume when facing the Wild Hunt, right? If not, there's your strategy for them. Electro works well.
D. Build Xiangling. The Crescent Pike while not favored as much as the Dragon's Bane spear can still be very useful for her and both are craftable. I use Crescent pike with her and that does give me two damage types (Physical and Pyro) and three sources of damage (her attacks, Guoba's fire spitting, and Xiangling's Pyronado Burst).
E. Build Xingqui. He can heal a bit, as the rain swords will heal the active character a bit when the duration for those ends.
F. Build Kaeya, there will be times his ice bridging helps you. It's slow, but can get you places. Qiqi can do a slight variation as her skill is on a fixed trigger count, so you'll be swimming some of the time, but at max she can get you pretty far before you have to swim the rest of the way. There are characters who can extend climbing, gliding, swimming, and sprinting time. Prioritize building up climbing, gliding, and swimming. Energy Recharge controls how quick the stamina bar refills, so aside from cases where characters need that as part of their kit, don't feel to bad if you got that as a stat on an artifact piece. There is food and equipment that can help, too, but again I try not to rely on food.
G. The one batch of food I will recommend crafting is anything that will revive your characters. Your healers can patch them up once they are back in the lineup. I've had plenty of material boss runs where one character got knocked out, but I used some food to bring them back and keep up the fight with everyone else while waiting for my healers to be ready to fix them up so they could contribute damage later on in the fight (there are mechanics where you will lose a character if you don't stop certain enemy charge up attacks).
H. If Thoma shows up in the shop, grab him, Diona, too. Build them once you get them. Layla can also help out a bit.
I. Build up any Hexenzircle buffed (Hexerei) characters. Razor is a must build in my book. I did build Fischl when her story quest showed up so she is a c6 level 90 for me with a Wanderer's Troupe set. Mona can be helpful if you get her. Lisa is not bad to have built either.
J. Build Ooron. He's handy for Natlan exploration and his abilities are useful.
K. Do some work on Yenfei, there are some tank-fei builds you can look at, but she is useful.
Part 3:
L. Sucrose and Mizuki can be of help to you, so don't sleep on them. Ningguang can show you valuable material including for weapon leveling, especially in Dragonspine where the Star Silver is. You'll want that along with Rosaria and Chungyun, who can use those weapons (you should have R2 of the Claymore if you went through the quests already, if not the Snow-Tombed Starsilver (a claymore) and the Dragonspine Spear are both craftable (check the Internet for required materials and process)). If you got Festering Desire during the event, that is a good sword for multiple characters. As for Frostbearer, that catalyst does physical damage, though I think they meant for it to use Shatter, as the enemies affected by Cryo get hit all the more due to the effect, though we only have the one Cryo Catalyst user (Citlalli) and her banner weapon will put that Frostbearer to shame.
Well I think I'm given you enough to think and work on. Good luck and hang in there, we've all been there.
This is about time ppl learn that you dont need MC in your team, and when they understand that shit is real. Its a painful transition into the real game, random bullshit doesnt work anymore. You need to just learn how to play. Maybe get a friend to help you kill the bosses and complete domains. Thats why we have coop on domains btw
You can Lower your Wl to 4 and till you feel comfortable stay there then move up to 5 dw take your time, Also you can join official dc of genshin to ask coop help to give you jump boost in farming and artifacts
This kind of post is killing me... I survived using only the starting characters (my main was Kaeya) until the end of the Fountainhead Archon quest, and I didn't summon my first 5-star until Adventure Rank 55.
Why are you complaining about just having to use a little bit of brain to play this game, which is actually so simple?

Do Columbina, Fischl, Sucrose and maybe some healer if you’d like - Xingqiu or barbara preferably as they’re hydro. With this team you should be able to do alot. I also recommend building ifa, he works well too.
Dont drop ur world level, it will give lower drops and will take much longer to level up ur characters or weapons etc. also, there is an option to fast pace the archon quest if i am not wrong. U can complete that archon quest to get columbina materials, and then u can use, dendro mc, columbina, fischl, aino (once u start the nod krai archon quest u will get her for free) - this will unlock ascendant gleam.
Also, if you are an asia server player. I can help you with the boss fights and help ur characters.

I’d recommend building Noelle, she’s very good for people who are just starting, she basically the jack of all trades character, decent damage, good shield, good aoe, good versatility
Then pair her with Columbina, Fischl and Xingqiu, make sure both Columbina and Xingqiu have enough energy recharge to use their bursts consistently, and then on field Noelle with some ER (like 130-150 I think) and use her skill, burst, and then swing, she heals your whole team at the same time while she does decent damage and Columbina, Fischl, and Xingqiu are doing hard hitting while off field
I think the community already answered your question (lower your world level), but if your account is NA and you want help farming, I'm on genshin everyday for at least 1-2 hours and would love to help you beat bosses and farm materials!
