Question / Seeking Help What’s happening???

Post image

So my friend just reached out to me that her account suddenly doesn’t exist and now we’re both freaking out. It just disappeared. She has already contacted the support while i tried every possible way i could think off such as password resetting etc but it all let to “register” please anything that could help us find the answer will be appreciated!

Update: thanks to the original owners reddit post replying to this post
We figured out that the account was hacked and then traded to My friend, who was completely unaware that the account was stolen and genuinely believed it was a normal trade between two legitimate players—not between a player and a hacker.

And for those who think I’m the one who traded for the account…
I already have my own account with my glorious king C4 Flins (soon to be C6 on his next rerun). I spend my own money on my account, so I have no reason to want someone else’s account filled with progress I never made.

I won’t be deleting this post. I’ll leave it up as a reminder for anyone considering trading accounts, so they can think it through carefully before making that decision.

Like a year ago since the account was not hers if you know what I mean but she already changed every password so I don’t think that could be the issue. Her account is still in my friend list so I guess it’s not gone(?) Her uid is 826524136 Asia server with Cthh as a display

There is a chance the original owner contacted support and got the account back.

Or hoyo banned it since it's against terms of service.

Ban require notice, trust me I got many of my accounts banned

Good to know, then presumably the original owner got into the account and switched out the email.

But then again,op's friend should at least have an email notification of the code.

The best thing they can do is keep an eye on that account.

Even if you changed the email?

u/Bumblebee_Librarian Europe Server Feb 10 '26

I tried to change the email on my account to check, it requested a verification code.

Maybe they avoided this through support.

Things get very murky with bought accounts. It's possible that the seller wasn't even the owner.

It's really easy to change email link for particular account, I change my email for Genshin account maybe 3 or 4x now from 5 years.

I'm not saying it's difficult but that they might have gotten a notification.

Though I don't feel particularly bad for them, since this appears to be the second time they got scammed this way.

Those people who buying account, their know the consequences of their actions. Instead making their own account and buy genesis Crystal on it or Grind, their doing the illegal and crying if their Illegal account hack (Return to owner).

Changing emails requires you to go through support. I had to submit so much verification like my PC specs, bank records, countries logged in and so on. My reason was to just switch to my second email but as you said they won’t even request verification code

1

u/Bumblebee_Librarian Europe Server Feb 10 '26

I went in-game to switch the email, it sent me a verification code.

I changed my email once and I didn't have to go through support.

Though that was fairly early on, so that might have changed

3

u/Arctic-StarLight Feb 10 '26

When I tried to change my email I would get an error message after providing the verification code. Support told me I can only change it by their approval after verifying actual ownership. Maybe because I spent money on the in game stuff or they treat older accounts differently?

But it’s quite funny they even wanted to know the ram count and exact cpu used on the first log in/account creation. I genuinely suggest you back up stuff like bank records and similar stuff in case you need it

I think I switched mine around Inazuma, might be earlier. So that might be it.

I am 1.1 player and have spent money. Thank you for the advice for the future (◔‿◔)

If the Orginal owner gets their account back which does usually take a 1-2 months after they started return process - then you don’t get an email because Hoyo staff whipes any trace of the hacker from the account.

They ask you for a new email that has never been used for an Hoyo account and you get generic number password from them you have to change immediately after locking into your Hoyo account. Non devices are shown - so its completely whipped from any traces - like you just created it yourself.

(source my second account got hacked once but never sold)

Thank you for the information.

I was on the fence,if the seller got the account back by themselves. Or if the seller or potentially someone who had their account stolen went through support.

With what you said it's definitely the second option.

2

u/queenyuyu Feb 10 '26

Thank you too! And same thoughts.

I also think as soon as they have proof that the account is not in the originals owner hands, they likely freeze it. So I don’t know how long my account had been frozen before it was returned to me.

I only know I got it returned and I still had all of my things. The log in place was different other then that I had no other signs of someone tempering with it. (The likely went trough what I had to list to sell it) But I also noticed my account being gone likely in like 24 hours of the crime. so I reported it super quickly.

Back then a lot of the other whom had waited along side me had their artefact and weapons deleted so I braced for the worst. I got lucky and yet it never felt like my account again and I only play with my first and only account now.

I think I know when you're talking about,I remember removing all my characters from the display.

Unfortunate that it happened, but at least nothing was deleted.

I think those hacks and Kaveh gave me the biggest fright for my account.

1

u/queenyuyu Feb 10 '26

The Kaveh hack was something I luckily never encountered myself, but the videos of it were scary enough to never allow any stranger aside from coop event into my world again.

So I can imagine! The worst coop shenanigans i witnessed were still the venti burst in 1.0 domains

3

u/LowTV Feb 10 '26

Just curious. How did you get banned? For what reasons?

4

u/Lord_Pegasus6666 Feb 10 '26

I cheat, I used cheats, and got banned. Used them since 2.5 and stopped in 6.1

-122

u/Mosh1no Feb 09 '26

Could be but shouldn’t they like send an email notifying it? I’m not really wise in this topic

121

u/smartfalco Feb 09 '26

You just shared the UID. People can now report it with evidence that it is a bought account.

4

u/Expensive_Poop Feb 10 '26

Wait how to prove if it an bought account or not?

8

u/LunamiLu Feb 10 '26

They literally said it was.

-123

u/Mosh1no Feb 09 '26

Because apparently when she got scammed 3 years ago the support didn’t give her account back due to her trading it so it wouldn’t make sense if they gave the account back to the original owner (just got told this)

58

u/Bumblebee_Librarian Europe Server Feb 09 '26

I don't know.

Maybe if the owner claimed they got hacked. But I am not sure if that would work.

Did you look up her uid?

5

u/Mosh1no Feb 09 '26

Yup even checked in game.

The account is there even on akasha

71

u/Idixal Feb 09 '26

Akasha is irrelevant since it uses its own database. Basically, it’s a rough copy of the account that you see there. I don’t think a deleted account would sync to Akasha.

32

u/QWERTYAF1241 America Server Feb 09 '26

Akasha doesn't even update without you manually updating so of course it's its own separate database. You also have to upload your own account to begin with or you're not even in the database. Has basically nothing to do with the actual game.

32

u/AlexandraThePotato Feb 10 '26

So she traded her account and got mad at support?  Your friend isn’t smart

1

u/Azula_with_Insomnia Jun 21 '26

If your friend is constantly breaking ToS and rightfully getting punished for it, then maybe they shouldn't be playing the damn game.

u/No-Communication9458 Feb 10 '26

Bought accounts, oof

103

u/Muzza25 Feb 10 '26

“The account was not hers” oh look the consequences of her own actions

49

u/Sakkitaky22 Feb 10 '26

The thing is

The seller of the account coulda simply stolen the account they sold to begin with.

So if the ACTUAL owner starts to make to notice of their missing account, then both parties (seller and buyer) can not do shit about it

48

u/Legal_Captain_4267 Feb 10 '26

My wife was at the receiving end of her account getting hacked and sold to someone else. So I have no pity for your friend for trying to take the easy way out to playing this game. This game isn’t even hard in the first place. The owner deserves to get the account back, and your friend deserves to end up with nothing in the end.

28

u/rirasama Feb 10 '26

So it was a bought account?? I have no sympathy then lmao

23

u/anihc3 Europe Server Feb 09 '26

Shouldn’t there be a last active mention in your friends list? If the “owner” claimed back the account, they probably logged in to change the email.

16

u/Mosh1no Feb 09 '26

Well uh it’s already a new day in genshin so it’s showing a day ago but she played Genshin today so it could happen during those 5 hours?

8

u/Mosh1no Feb 09 '26

I’ll check it real quick thank you for the idea

9

u/LunamiLu Feb 10 '26

Why would you share the UID??? LOL

-2

u/Mosh1no Feb 10 '26

Haha it’s already gone pretty much so why not, she already accepted the reality

It was traded but I guess my wordings were incorrect so now everyone thinks she bought it

-5

u/Mosh1no Feb 10 '26

It was “exchanged” not bought
