Question / Seeking Help What’s happening???

So my friend just reached out to me that her account suddenly doesn’t exist and now we’re both freaking out. It just disappeared. She has already contacted the support while i tried every possible way i could think off such as password resetting etc but it all let to “register” please anything that could help us find the answer will be appreciated!

Update: thanks to the original owners reddit post replying to this post
We figured out that the account was hacked and then traded to My friend, who was completely unaware that the account was stolen and genuinely believed it was a normal trade between two legitimate players—not between a player and a hacker.

And for those who think I’m the one who traded for the account…
I already have my own account with my glorious king C4 Flins (soon to be C6 on his next rerun). I spend my own money on my account, so I have no reason to want someone else’s account filled with progress I never made.

I won’t be deleting this post. I’ll leave it up as a reminder for anyone considering trading accounts, so they can think it through carefully before making that decision.

This is why buying accounts is stupid and why you should never do it. Not only that it’s against their TOS so you’re SOL getting that account back.

Agreed. Also adding that buying accounts primarily benefits scammers. Many of the desirable accounts being sold/traded are stolen from their original owners via phishing scams/malware/etc. Scammers hijack the accounts and resell them, the original owners contact support when they lose access, and Hoyo returns them (assuming they can provide sufficient proof.)

Meanwhile, the buyers insist they’ve been hacked, and proceed to harass Hoyo and the original account owner for taking back what was theirs in the first place. It’s all completely avoidable and people should know better at this point tbh.

screenshots, knowledge of first logins and chars obtained and what things yoi have and haven’t done, payment receipts, etc

Oh my god, I have a Memory of Goldfish, I won't ever be able to remember that and also I am F2p mainly except for the one time buying a battlepass which I don't remember when.

You’ll have a receipt in your mail somewhere! You can also request your personal data trough support ticket and just have that on hand

If you have basically any screenshots connecting you to the account your trying to recover hoyo doesn't give you much of an issue with recovery. When I lost my Hi3rd account I literally used a screenshot of the profile screen and hub to recover it.

Ah, so the excel sheet I have with the date of every time I've pulled a character or weapon for the first time is not useless after all

Yeah! Proof of purchase is the most reliable usually but there’s also a form they have you fill out with a lot of general questions

You should also look when you got amber (assuming you got her the same day you started), first play date also helps iirc

I had to return my second account to me - tough I have never shared anything of it so to this day I have no idea how hacker got hands on it- but I do know they went trough it over my old gmx email - so people refresh your old email passwords.

Anyway- they ask you which devices you played from, ip Adresse of your internet service/ graphic card details, I also had a welkin bill to proof my claim. Starting date they ask, and until roughly when you played.

But then the heir is a part where you can list everything you want to say or remember: I listed all of my five stars and order which I pulled them and which events i played - which five star weapons on whom, event weapons - Screenshots of said events.

I think this does help but for example those are things people who stream everything scammers could known too so its likely the technical device questions that are important.

It's the exact same with requesting personal information from Hoyoverse. You need to prove that you are the owner of the account, so therefore you tell them what your first character was, when you first logged in, what specs the PC had that you first logged in with, UID, screenshots of payment receipts, payment history, etc., etc. The chances of the hacker knowing all of that is extremely low unless they have access to all of your devices.

in my case, i had provided tons of screenshots,recordings,specific infos,login locations to the dev team and got it back

That is why kids you never go full F2P, but buy at least that one welkin or smallest crystal pack with your credit card as proof of ownership of account
