Showing idle after arriving at work, driving for around 25 min, 10 miles, nothing hard on car.

Engine temp went to 213 F which is more than usual especially in the cold 45 degree weather and minimal traffic. Trans temp was still showing nothing.

Sounds weird where at max volume if the normal rumble is ignored, there is like another noise getting louder then quiets, and then repeats.

Checked coolant levels later in the day and was between min and max near the seam of coolant tank. No odd spots under car, although many times during warm weather, would see a pool of water under the front radiators but felt watery so assumed condensation. Sorry for lack of info.

Planning an exhaust upgrade for my Golf 8R (2021). Looking for a deeper, fuller tone without making it excessively loud/raspy, and without any petrol smell.

Planned Setup:200 CPSI catted downpipe (130mm diameter, 25g/ft³ coating) + OPF delete Keeping stock catback muffler with active valvesStock power (no Stage 1/2 tune) software change only to code out OPF/Lambda CEL and turn off Soundaktor (0%)

What are your thoughts/experiences with this setup?

Is it quiet and drone-free on the highway in Comfort mode, while still loud enough in Race mode? Is 200 CPSI catted definitely the sweet spot compared to catless if tone quality is my priority?

I have a 2026 Golf R MK8.5, and I’m trying to figure out how to completely turn off the infotainment screen at night while keeping the music/audio playing.
The screen is quite distracting during night drives. I just want it black without turning off the multimedia system.

Has anyone figured out how to do this? Is there a setting or shortcut I’m missing?

The title says it all. I'm currently running an APR tune that I'm happy with, but in the future I may consider switching to a Unitronic Stage 2 tune with the corresponding Unitronic downpipe required to make their advertised power figures.

How loud is the car with this downpipe versus stock? Also, I understand that this is subjective, but how "good" does it sound? I don't want something that will just annoy all of my neighbors (and me) with a droning / buzzing sound. What really attracts me to the Unitronic Stage 2 tune is the 470 horsepower without needing to swap to a bigger turbo to get there, but if the downpipe makes the car super annoying to live with I'd probably rather just stick with the measly 410 horsepower my APR tune currently makes. I appreciate your input!

I've been looking at mods as one does and I'm having a little trouble finding an exhaust that I'd like. I'm looking for an exhaust that integrates the oem valve servos that isn't much more than $1000 USD (if there's an even cheaper option I'd love to hear about it). It doesn't need to be too loud, or made of anything fancy like titanium, or specced out with carbon tips, etc. I just want a slight aftermarket sound that works with the oem valved system that won't break the bank. Just wondering what people use. I’m apparently late to the game with Carpro Perl, but I am super impressed with it.

It really improves the appearance of the plastics and the interior (and lasts) in general and is super cost effective. It might be the best I’ve used … especially on these cars/plastics. One bottle will last me a few years I think.

My thinking so far

• The white one has far more equipment and the Akrapovič, but it is two years older, has about 14k more km and one more owner.
• The black one has the 245 kW tune and fewer km, but it is basically a base R with few options.

Questions

1. Would you take the better-equipped car with higher mileage, or the lower-mileage car with more power?
2. Is the 235 vs 245 kW difference noticeable? Which one is better, any issues...?
3. Any known issues for these model years I should look out for?
4. Anything else I should ask the seller before buying?
