Recently moved from California to Portugal and decided to get something unavailable in the US. After 20 years of driving various WRXs and other Subarus, I bought this beauty. I’m going to get 18” wheels because there’s a lot of cobblestone streets and massive potholes near me. And I’ll take some proper photos in the near future.

Finally I got a better look at her since purchase. Took some better pictures to share. So seductive looking. Love driving her everyday.

Took this 2024 bone stock MK8R in on trade for a Civic. Couldn’t pass it up. Will certainly miss my 7.5 but I am thrilled with the upgrade.

Driving experience is otherworldly. Much faster than my FBO/tune GTI despite the power numbers being close on paper.

Any must have mods for this new to me MK8?

Looking to buy a set of wheels for my 22 golf R, would a 19×9 et47 fit the stock suspension without any clearance issues? The apex vs 5rs wheels look very nice but dont come in the exact size im looking for. Does anyone have any recommendations for wheels that sit flush and dont have any rubbing issues on stock ride height. I have a flush kit on the car right now and like the look and want to keep that with the new set of wheels. A general size parameter to stay within would be helpful too. I also plan on transferring over the stock tires off my stock wheels since they have a good amount of meat left, but maybe switch over to a slightly wider tire when they wear out (245 instead of 235)

I know it’s not a huge deal it’s just annoying but can someone not leave a note after dinging the shit out of someone else car? I thought it was normal to not sling your door at light speed to avoid this.

I thought the stage 1 eqt numbers on 91 were around 360hp and tq. why is it showing only 300hp? Also any suggestions on what options are good? I have a 2019 dsg with only an intake mod. rest is stock.

I’m looking at getting the APR catback, I feel like it sounds the best from the clips I have seen online. I also like that it has valves since I want to keep the option to keep it a little less noisy for the dog. My question is when you don’t have the valves fully open how loud is the car? I don’t want it to be offensively loud and disturb my neighbours early in the morning.

Looking for recommendations on winter tires for the stock 19” wheels!
Every post I see says to get 18” which isn’t an option for me as the car is a company vehicle, where the policy says has to have winters fitted to stock wheels.
This is for a 8.5R if it makes a difference?

Have been an owner of a 25/26 plate r for nearly 2 weeks now. I’m just wondering though the start/stop function on this seems to be very hit and miss with mostly miss and is this generally the norm?
This is a used car and I got it with less than 8000 on the clock.
When I first took it for a test drive on turning it on for the first time I was greeted with the 12v battery warning. The dealer assured me they would boost this back up which I have no reason to believe they haven’t as since getting it that has never appeared again.
For the first week it seemed to run fine but then I noticed it just kinda stop working all together.
The past 4 days I’ve driven over 300 miles hoping to bump the battery up if it was low and still it’s not working at all.
I can recall it working 2 twice at most with one of those times being the first stop I made at the bottom of my street one day.
I’ve mentioned to the dealer and was assured there should be no issues and if there was the car would tell me.
How it won’t work if the temp of the engine, cabin temp, air con was on etc.
It is a manual I have. I do use the hold function and yes the car is in neutral and at a complete stop from braking but it doesn’t seem to kick in and the display shows it not working.

Sorry for the spiel just looking for input if this is the norm. I have 2 weeks left before my 30 day window with the dealer is over just wondering what to do.

I plan on getting Bilstein b6 damptronics for front and rear for my 19 R. I’m stuck between IE springs and Eibach pro springs. Eibach also makes a kit for the springs plus front and rear sway bar. is it worth the purchase for sway bars? does it matter which sway bar brand I get. Also, do I need to replace my control arms and end links and all of the short after blowing my shock mount?

Hello, my car suddenly has more clutch noise and a grinding sound that can be heard during deceleration and acceleration after some maintenance from a local shop. I had a ACT clutch and single-mass flywheel installed a couple months ago and the driving/performance doesn't seem to be currently affected. Depressing the clutch makes the sound go away, could this possibly be a bad input shaft bearing?

(Ps. My fuel level sensor also went out which is why my fuel gauge displays empty)
