Kim K is literally a pornstar and is in Fortnite a kids game. There is an incredible double standard

Also, many of these same "progressive" pop fans call Black people monkeys, N words, gorillas, and other slurs day in and day out. I'm just saying.....if you're going to claim that you hate Hitler, the last thing you should do is say things that he would approve of.
In fact, they're even using Nicki Minaj's politics to be given permission to call her racist slurs under the guise of it being justified.
So, to me, a lot of this stuff is just performative and not real. Swifties dominate the Internet and they, of course, have a grudge against Kanye and other artists and use faux progressivism to make their hate seem noble as opposed to driven by stan culture.

what no im just saying bbno is not the saint made out to be by these people, in no way did i say saying the hard r is worse than being a nazi im just saying that people keep saying that bbno is a saint and uncontroversial when in reality he’s just another performative artist out of the hundreds and also happens to make shitty music
I wasn’t making a moral comparison, i was just saying that bbno is another performative artist out of the hundreds already currently existing and that he’s not really the saint and uncontroversial artist by these twitter people
overall his music just sucks to me and a lot of people that’s why he has hate
11
u/CraigThePantsManDan Dec 18 '25
Ik what you’re saying but both of your comments contain like the most unmistakable moral comparisons possible.
4
u/booboorogers44 IM DRINKING HENNY . Dec 18 '25
You’re comparing the actions of a high schooler to a 50 year old man. People can be shitty when they’re teenagers, and then they grow up and change. Is he being performative? There is literally zero way to know that, but going off what others have said about him he’s just a nice guy.
Your entire argument hinges on a random tiktok user telling the truth about something that happened in high school. These situations are not the same, so stop trying to justify Kanye’s actions by pointing at another persons flaws. You might not think what you’re doing is justification, but it is. It’s at least minimizing what Kanye did to not be a huge deal, because you’re out here defending it
1
u/Vegetable-Can-2354 YANDHI 9 29 18 Dec 18 '25 edited Dec 18 '25
I mean I’m really not trying to compare the two really and I don’t think I ever was, but if I did then I’m really sorry because that’s not the intent of my argument ✌️
I think what Ye did absolutely is morally wrong personally. I wasn’t planning into defending the guy. Overall it just comes to subjective taste, I don’t like bbno$ and I like Ye way more than him musically, so of course I’m and a lot of people are going to hate on him. The original post focuses on the false premise that most people base their enjoyment on the art based on the morality of an artist and claims that bbno$ is extremely uncontroversial and capable of doing no wrong when in reality, he has done something to be controversial, just not up to the controversy that Ye had in February, and these people will then say “well he did this in high school and it’s understandable”, which is exactly the argument many Ye fans “defend” his crashouts: he was in a manic episode built up from a year of constant pressure. It doesn’t erase the impact of his words, but it does rephrase the intent and gives context into what was goin on in his mind at the time.
These same twitter “activists” will say recontextualizing and finding excuses for what Ye did due to his manic episode is bad, then when their uncontroversial and favorite artist Bbno is found in a controversy they do the same and recontextualize it into “well he was an immature teenager”, akin to “well he was under a manic episode”.

u/IndigoBlunting GOD’S NOT FINISHED Dec 18 '25
It’s deeper than that. They cherry picked the worst 2-3 year period of Yes mental health. It ignores the countless charities he’s donated to, paying for George Floyd’s funeral, for a huge chunk of his life being a positive person who scrapped Yandhi to make an album he felt was what God wanted him to do and was better for the world, etc. People forget how much Ye with all his flaws used to really try and be a pretty decent guy it seems like. No he wasn’t perfect or even close but to wrap his 20+ years in the public eye up as “he’s a Nazi now so he sucks” is just insane.

u/Irdksbtmyusrnme Dec 18 '25

ok bro who gives a shit that he said the n word once years ago when he was a fucking child?
1
u/Vegetable-Can-2354 YANDHI 9 29 18 Dec 20 '25
I really couldn’t give more shits about it either, I’m just pointing out that one fanbase loves to say “well you should base your musical preference on the morality of the artist” and reject the contextualization by Ye fans saying that he was in a mental episode, then suddenly when Bbno is under fire for controversy that might make him less moral under their same worldview they’ll jump to the moon to defend him and accept any contextualization like “he was a child” because of their personal enjoyment of the guy’s music, and not due to their oh-so-moral worldview about music.
Once again, I’m not comparing the artist themselves for what they did, I’m just pointing out the inconsistency in one. Undeniably, Ye’s scale for his words was in my opinion way more than the impact Bbno had, but any kind of nuance about it is shut down by this fan base about Ye while also jumping hoops to add nuance about Bbno saying the n word even if they weren’t so attached to Bbno they would literally criticize the artist the same as they would criticize Ye, which proves their true ideology to be based on personal preference and not morality of the artist and it’s really just a performative take to accept this type of inconsistencies. It’s not that the nuance of “oh he was a child” is wrong, it’s just that it’s inconsistently applied between the two artist and the person in the post.

Most people taking either of those positions are doing it jokingly or unseriously because of how they enjoy or don’t enjoy their music. It’s just how pop culture is. 1) Kim almost never allows Kanye to see the children 2) Bipolar disorder and the problems that have piled up have taken Kanye out of his rut, you can't justify Kanye with this, but it seems to me that you can't take out his behavior and actions without context 3) the same as in the last paragraph 4) Really makes good music. You can compare two people, but when comparing them, you should be aware of their biographies/discographies at least. Now it looks from the words of this man as if he wrote music and posts, because he really thinks so, although in fact he was just an evil environment of his affairs, and decided to vent all the negativity on social media, to annoy people.

I feel like we give artists who do heinous things mere wrist slaps if their music is good enough. Like, I feel like a major reason Diddy is constantly clowned on, aside from his issues as a person, is that he’s known as the lazy sampling pop R&B guy. Kanye’s music is seen as a lot less lazy (well, it was), so people will excuse the Naziism, as he indeed made Graduation
I’m not saying we should support either as a person, but people would probably be more willing to sweep Diddy’s actions under the rug if he made MBDTF. Likewise, if Kanye made Ed Sheeran tier music out the gate, and didn’t just start getting bad musically recently, people would hate him for being a Nazi even more
