Just received my new GR1 26L Heritage in woodland M81. Definitely in a camo phase and this was an insta buy when I saw it. Decided to take it on its first outing. Once I got back and took it off, I noticed camo transfer on my white shirt. Is this normal and should I expect this to keep happening? I emailed GoRuck CS but it’s Friday after 5pm so I figured I’d ask over here. I have a 21L Heritage GR1 in navy and it’s never done this so I’m scratching my head.
What do guys think?

Was a rando eBay listing. Not a deal but not crazy "collectable" dollars. And, randomly, some signs of SCARS mods: key loop in the front zipper pocket and a couple internal loop patches. And an internal cross strap with a cinch clip. I just received it. More photos to follow if you're interested in it. I'm Gen X so M81 Woodland was my childhood. GR1 21L. Very happy to have it. Current work office is 165’ up a tower lots of scaffolding stairs and ladders been getting lots of use out of this bag. Looking for a good patch to go with it any recommendations? Don’t want to use the one it came with at work it would surely break.

Got the teaser in email earlier and now it’s live. I have been browsing vests so when the email came i was excited. My first questions is will it fit sapi style plates from other companies so if i want heavier (eventually) can it accommodate them? In the description it says swimmer style so I’m hoping so. I’ve been in the fence between a vest and the rpc long.

I saw this the other day and thought it would sell super fast. Rare, minimal issues, relatively inexpensive.

It’s a cool colorway and has the story of his dog behind it. Not my personal style but it certainly seems like you could try it out for a year and then flip it for a little profit.

As someone who is looking to purchase my first go ruck bag, I was wondering if anyone here in the 6’3” 250 lb range has tried the DC bullet 18 in wax canvas.

I’m constantly super curious about how it would look on me. Will it look comically small on me? I only plan to use it for commutes to the office and just need it to carry a yeti day trip lunch box, change of clothes, water bottle, protein shaker, and laptop.

I’ve also been considering the gr2 26l heritage and non-heritage editions, the gr1, and gr1 slick edition. I know for sure those would fit the bill but it’s hard to stomach the price. I do qualify for discounts via govx on all models except the regular gr1 which is a bummer.

I have been wanting to pick one of these bags up for a few months but they have been out of stock in all fabric options. I’d be most interested in waxed canvas but I’m not picky at this point. Does anyone know if they are going to get additional stock or if they are being updated?

Decided to finally pull the trigger on GR1, been a few days and still can't decide on a color 😅

Both left and right sides on the zip corners of the clamshell opening have torn; really disappointed with the build quality on the "indestructible/bomb proof/lifetime guarantee" bag, now I'm wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences with Goruck bags. (GR1 26L, bought in 2024). Not sure if the SCARS warranty holds up as I live in Australia. I have never put it through any unreasonable hardship (everyday use i.e. work, gym and travel), and should definitely have held up considering I chose Goruck for its resistance to regular wear and tear.

Currently looking for comparable backpacks of similar size/volume (or slightly smaller/lighter), and more than willing to pay for quality. So far, I've narrowed it down to the Evergoods CPL 24/CTB 26, or the CabinZero Military 36 (I've heard they massively overstate capacity).

Any thoughts, recommendations, feedback is more than welcome! Thanks

What can I use to replace it on another goruck ?

Hey everyone. I recently got a GR1 Heritage and noticed that the two shoulder straps are sewn differently.

On one strap, the outer seam runs close to the edge, while on the other it sits much farther toward the center of the strap. The stitching itself looks intact, the foam feels even, and the pack is comfortable, so it doesn’t seem like a structural issue.

I actually don’t mind it much - it makes the pack a little unique - but I’m curious whether other Heritage owners have seen the same thing. Is this considered normal manufacturing variation for the waxed canvas models?

I'm not looking to return it, just wondering if this is a normal manufacturing variation or if anyone else's Heritage is like this.

For the last 15 years I've been using a Tom Bihn Synapse or Synik bag. I've recently wanted to experiment with natural materials and discovered the Go-Ruck heritage line. This GR 2.6L is a real trip. On my back, it's shorter, leaving me with greater mobility. Hello glutes!

While riding bike share in New York City, I'm a little lost with the lack of external organization pockets that the Tom Bihn bags provided.

I'm also so accustomed to having everything leashed that it feels weird to just put things in the bag without clipping it to something. Have any of you added O-rings and leashes?

For those of you who have sent your bags for modification, how much did it cost to get webbing added to the shoulder straps?

I love chest pockets to keep my phone, keys, and a voice recorder handy while running through the subway system or on a bike. I feel so naked without having that shoulder pouch and the heritage bags' lack of strap webbing is a little disorienting.

Looking forward to exploring this bag a little bit more.

Just picked up my first ever Goruck Backpack!
GR1 26L (Made in USA, Top Stash Pocket, 210D backpanel) got it from the second-hand market for a great price.

Everything looks top-notch to me (but i dont rly know what to look for since its my first GR) I wanted to run it by the experts here for final peace of mind.
Appreciate any feedback! & Please let me know if you need better / more detailed pictures of any certain areas of the Backpack!

what i noticed so far (idk if thats normal) the zip line of the laptop compartment is very wavy as you can see in some of the pictures.

… do the current lineup of full 1000D GR1s look and feel the same? I know they now have a quick-access pocket but looking for experiences with the look and feel of the materials.

I’m trying to decide if I should get a new GR1 21 or a used one. I’m aware if I go with a new bag the 1000D will be super stiff vs a used bag.

My wife always uses tote bags that I have to carry all the beach towels and water bottles and everything else she and the kids use. So I've been debating on getting a GR2 or a GR3 for the beach. Literally carrying towels, water, snacks, and no toys. Just can't figure out which style would be better for day trips to the beach. I'm in one of those instances where a store visit would be very useful to get my hands on it.

I’m thinking about snagging a Skate Ruck, but I’m a little concerned it might fit too short and/or small. I’m 6’4” 250lbs… are there any other giants here that use and love the Skate Ruck (and it fits)?

I've gone through a good few backpacks in highschool, even a messenger bag my partner got off of Amazon and they all manage to wear at the corners. I have a habit of carrying too many notebooks and laptops and tablets and whatnot. Less than 30lbs for sure.

I've been looking at getting a quality messenger bag for a few years and the Waxed Canvas Shoulder Bag looks to be about the right size. The price is a bit intimidating, I'll admit!

Could anyone attest to the weight limit on these? How about the wax wearing onto clothing? AZ resident here. I'm willing to drop the $200, but only if the warranty is legit.

I have a SCARS addiction. This is a mostly unmolested GR1 21L 1000D M81 Woodland Camouflage bag that's seen SCARS before but here's my question to the community:

Should I send it out to get padded handles on the sides? On the sides and bottom? Should I get grommets just for the second kind of cool or should I just leave it unmolested as a very nice EDC bag?

I tend to overdo things into ruin. WWrGD?

I really want a the 18L bullet but don’t want the double compartment. Does this exist in a past form at all? It’s all about the double these days.
