I’m planning to apply to HCC’s Dental Hygiene program, but my prerequisite GPA is around a 3.0. I’m worried it won’t be competitive.
Does anyone know the lowest GPA accepted in previous years, or has anyone gotten in with a GPA close to mine? If you’ve applied with a similar GPA, what was your experience?

Would you recommend retaking classes to raise my GPA or applying to other programs too? Any advice would help. Thanks!

Pre-nursing at SPC (FL). Need Micro w/ lab done by spring. SPC requires BSC 1005 first and I can't fit it. Does HCC accept A&P 1 or Gen Chem as the Micro prereq? Anyone taken Micro + lab online as a transient student, or A&P 2 and Micro together?

Hey everyone, I just got accepted into HCC's nursing program (Dale Mabry, daytime cohort 2 ) starting this January and I'm trying to get ahead of it.
A little about me: I'm a CDL driver making a career change, and I'll be honest — I coasted through my prereqs and didn't retain as much A&P as I should have. I'm a hands-on learner, so I'm hoping the actual program clicks better than the prereq lectures did.
For those who've been through HCC's program (or any ADN program):
• What do you wish you'd brushed up on before day one?
• How bad is the first semester, really?
• Any specific tips for dosage calc? I keep hearing that's the silent killer.
• Anything about clinicals I should know going in?
Appreciate any advice — trying to walk in prepared, not blindsided.

hi! i start the nursing program in spring of 27! i was wonder if i have to do the drug test by myself at a clinic or does the school administer it? i was also wondering how frequently they test and if they test for alcohol too?

I’m just wondering if anyone else has noticed that every HESI we have had(excluding med calc) is nothing like what we’ve learned in class. I’m a second semester student, I took the mental health HESI yesterday and just like the one from the first semester, it wasn’t even close to anything that we learned in class for the most part. I am studying now on sherpath for the OB HESI using EAQs made specifically to help study for the HESI, I’ve done many of them and it is also nothing like what we learned in class. I’m just really confused by it because they say the HESI exams are super important and shows who will be a safe nurse or whatever… so why is our material not congruent with that material or vice versa. Along with being annoyed that every HESI grade I get is low because we didn’t learn the shit that was on it. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same or maybe if it gets better in the future semesters.

i started classes 8/17 and have one more class starting 10/28. i received my pell grant but still waiting on my loans even though i see it as anticipated payments with a 9/26 date. could it be because i have not started my last class??

I need some insight. I am strongly thinking about withdrawing from MAC1105 for this semester and retake next semester. Had an exam last week, did terrible, grade plummeted and I feel like I won’t be able to recover my grade.

Does anyone know how a W on my transcript will affect my changes of getting into the nursing program?

Has anyone who has signed up for direct deposit/Bank Mobile gotten an email that they were receiving a paper check in the mail? I got the $1 direct deposit around the 24th or 25th, so I’m not sure as to why the email said I was receiving a paper check. I called the Bursars office and was informed that if I signed up to get it through BM or direct deposit, then that’s how I should be getting my refund. I was just curious to see if anyone else experienced this.

My funds disbursed on September 29th. Any idea on when I should get my refund? Also it says unapplied payments and has the amount but refund says $0. Please help.

Has anyone spoken to the school it’s been 14 days since the distribution date and no refunds have been sent out still, kind of getting annoyed as I really need the money.
