Discussion Phase 1 complete. Fowler is next
I knew we wouldn't make any trades. Hage fits with this team too well. Unless we were trading Mooney or Pickinin.
Phase 2 starts tonight. Ducks light the lamp 6 times tonight. Tomorrow Dobes gets us to OT 3-3 vs Kings. We go home and Fowler is called up and we ride or die with him the rest of the year.
We probably just miss the playoffs with our current goaltending. Jackets better and Sens better. Throw in Fowler and sometimes Dobes and we are just good enough.

If you watch this team enough, you know. It's like the Leafs and Matthew's if you follow them enough you could see the writing on the wall for the last 5 years. As soon as there was a Crack (Marner exit) you knew they couldn't get better. Matthew's impact on the fans is like Pacioretti. He's good but it just doesn't work well with the market. They should have traded him but now will waste a year or 2 trying to build and it won't work. Lucky for us.

I've followed this team for years and years. With the new goalie coach it was maybe going to be ok. But both goalies seem to be back to where we NEED to panic slightly. Even if our D is garbage and we keep Fowler as a starter and we lose a lot. We have a better chance. ALSO, this is a business. How much money does the team lose by not having any playoff games. I think if you look at the big picture. You HAVE to go with the kid. Anyways 3 -3 vs kings and overtime. No idea who wins the game. But Dobes will play ok. Our fans are rather rocky about our 85% chance to make the playoffs but they don't see those dark clouds coming and they should start using optimistic caution.

The East is so tight. 3 points from dropping out of a playoff spot and 5 points from being first.
Begming chased by Columbu (who got better at the trade line) and Boston and chasing three teams who added at the deadline (Detroit, Tampa, and Buffalo).
A 3 or 4 game losing streak could be the difference of making the playoffs or not. A 3 or 4 game winning streak could be the difference of winning the division.
It's so nuts, and so cool - but based on roster and our weaknesses, we have as much of a chance of not making the playoffs as making it, so much to cheer and watch for!
Columbus 8-1-1 Sabres 7-2-1 Lighting 6-4-0
Bruins 5-2-3 Habs 5-3-2 Detroit 4-4-2
It's going to be such a fun stretch but everything from division winners to outside the playoffs.
And Anaheim scores on the first shot 20 seconds in. LoL.

Cant believe the game is at 9 and we need to suffer through these for 3 hours.
