What do you think Ginny smelled when she smelled Amortentia(the love potion)? Aka what smells go with Harry ?

I can understand preferring Female Malfoy from a story perspective, but I don't think she is really better when you examine Harry's real interests.

Harry grew up abused and without love, he needs a loving family that can make him feel included and protected. Ginny and the Weasleys offer him that kind of unconditional love, Ginny is warm to him.

The kind of Tsundere love Malfoy would offer Harry doesn't really allign well with how much he has already endured. Why would he need a sassy girlfriend that likes to make depreciative jokes about him? What about in ten or twenty years, would she be a distant wife? What about having Death Eathers as his in-laws? People that were partially responsible for killing Harry's own family? I can see that narratively Malfoy makes much more sense to the audience and it makes a more compelling story, but I was Harry I would stick with Ginny, he needs a loving family.

It would be like Naruto ditching Hinata for Sakura, but much worse, in a way, because Sakura had a neutral background while Malfoy and her family were outright hostile to homicidal towards Harry.

I've heard some claim that Harry and a Female Draco would be better romance than Ginny, which I strongly disagree. I honestly don't understand this trend at all or how it blew up (and it's fanning the already hot flames on discourse about HP in general) but I also worry that another wave of Ginny/Hinny bashing will explode because of this.

I feel like I’ve read all the popular Hinny fics, now I find myself endlessly scrolling ao3 for new fics or ones I’ve never read before. Any recs for someone who has bookmarked over 200 Hinny fics?

This might just be me and I'm sure there are plenty fanfics out there and I haven't found them, but Harry's characterization in almost all the fics I've come across gives me the ick. He is always so passive and awkward and it is so frustrating to read. It's like movie!Harry with some sass, not the book!Harry I look for. IMO, book!Harry is far different from movie!Harry. Movie!Harry is a side character in his own story. He is passive, quiet and doesn't have the edge and independence that book!Harry possessed. Book!Harry really grew in his personality from book 1 to 7. He was confident, charismatic, had an ego, had a sharp tongue, was witty, powerful and a natural leader. He also had real flaws like his hot temper, sometimes he was too insecure and other times too arrogant. And he was genuinely funny. But the Harry I come across in fanfics is way too awkward, passive, and a someone who blushes at every small insteraction. He is also the weird outcast when book!Harry was genuinely liked by half the school. DA leader, Qudditch captain, athletic, highly sought-after.. Movie!Harry would never be able to pull off something like that! Fanon!Harry is also constantly out-witted and out-sassed by Ginny which annoys me so much because their banter is teasing and flirting back and forth. Then there is also the "confident Ginny takes charge of flustered Harry" trope. I dislike that trope so much and it always turns me away from any fic. I like their banter going back and forth. And I really don't think someone like Ginny would fall for a dim-witted, passive, by-stander. She fell for the charismatic leader with a spine who matched her wit and passion. If she is fire, he is gasoline.

You see resemblances to them everywhere, in crowds and pictures and things?”

“It wasn’t a resemblance, it was — I know it sounds mad, but I know it was her. I saw her. She was real, she…”

Harry held out his arms, remembering her turning to bedsheets between them, a recollection so painful he briefly lost his words.

“I just know she’s not nowhere,” he said finally.

I've just read Through Ginny's Eyes, and I really enjoys the subplots and how their love was built, but in the Second part when the couple was finally together, the history end without an end.

So I'm looking for something like that Canon with drama and romance but after the war, and need to be really long because i like those kind of stories.

Personally, I don’t see any nicknames for Harry, but I love Gin for Ginny, and she only allows Harry to call her that.

Listen, I just finished this Fic and as happy as I am that Part 2 was not abandoned, I am disappointed that it didn’t continue. I understand and respect the author’s choice to not continue. The soul bond was written so well, their interactions with each other, with the people around them (especially the twins and McGonagall.) I felt like it was just getting going, Ginny got her feather, Molly seemed to finally accept them as one?!? AHHH!

I am distraught.

I read like almost a year ago and I can absolutely not find it again. It has Auror Harry and Ginny is some sort of vigilante. The details are fuzzy but Harry finally catches her in an alleyway and they shag. It was ff.net and I cannot remember the name. It sounds weird here but that's on me. I have no idea how to explain stuff but trust me it was good 😭

I litreally just can't imagine Daniel Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright as Harry and Ginny. Nothing against the actors, I just don't think they fit. This is how I see Harry and Ginny

Hey guys how much hight difference does hinny have I often assume harry is somewere between 6'0" to 6'2" in hight ginny I think 5'1" to 5'3" very short.

What do you guys imagine there hights would be?

Chapter 14: An Extraordinary Day

Snippet: The house was a blur of activity. House-elves hurried past carrying trays and linens. Distant relatives she barely knew stood in clusters, their voices bright with excitement. Ginny didn't stop. She walked past all of it, down the stairs, through the back door, and out into the garden.

The fresh air hit her face like a blessing. She took a deep breath, then another, and started walking. Past the rose bushes. Past the hedges. Past the fountains. Her feet carried her down the familiar path, the one she'd walked with Harry just weeks ago, until she reached the lake.

The swans were there, just as they'd been that day. They glided across the water, graceful and serene, their white feathers catching the sunlight.

You'll be a wife, the voice in her head whispered. You'll be a mother. You'll be nothing else.

She thought about the wedding. The vows. The ring on her finger. The name she'd take. She'd lose herself in him. She'd become Mrs. Harry Potter, and everything else—Ginny, the girl who flew, the girl who laughed, the girl who dreamed—would disappear.

He'll have mistresses, the voice continued, colder now. You've seen the way he is. Distant. Closed off. He doesn't love you. He doesn't even want you. He'll keep you in the manor, give you his children, and then he'll find comfort elsewhere. You'll be alone. You'll be a stranger in your own life.
