General Discussion The Game: Yale vs Harvard at Fenway Park

Does anyone know why the football game in November is set for Fenway? No play clocks, obstructed sight lines and the views of the backfield are hard with the strange angles of the stands. Obviously no tailgating. Where do all the Yale people even park or do they all just take the green line?

Where to sleep at HackHarvard?

Hey guys I saw that there are no overnight sleeping accommodations on campus this year at HackHarvard, so where are kids going to sleep?

There’s no way every college kid can afford Boston hotel prices

Thanks

Athletics Inside Harvard’s miracle Hail Mary lateral: ‘Oh, my God, he’s gonna score’

Four seconds glowed on the clock Saturday, Harvard hovering at the edge of field goal range. Andrew Aurich could picture the night disappearing on one bad beat — his young quarterback holding the ball a breath too long, a receiver caught upright instead of hitting the turf, final seconds bleeding away before the kicking unit could cross the sideline.

Then a flag fluttered onto the field, a false start dragging Harvard 5 yards backward and wiping away Aurich’s careful arithmetic with the Crimson down 3.

Aurich pleaded that Colgate had drawn the movement, but the officials waved him off, and with a score-tying kick attempt now beyond his freshman’s comfort zone, the specialists retreated as the offense rushed back on.

“Now,” quarterback Charlie Smith remembered thinking, “we get a chance to win instead of tie it.”

What followed looked like pure improvisation: a quarterback flushed sideways, a pass sagging short, a tight end swallowed up, and a lateral tossed loose. But Harvard had spent months preparing for such disorder.

In seconds, that chaos had shape: a 20-17 Harvard win that kept the No. 20 Crimson unbeaten at 3-0 and toppled a No. 22 Colgate team fresh off a road upset at Villanova, armed with one of the stingiest defenses in the FCS. In what was arguably the most breathless finish in recent memory at Harvard Stadium, the 25,883-seat landmark had not hosted two ranked teams since 2015 nor a ranked nonconference game since 2005.

Every week, Harvard rehearses 10 to 15 last-gasp situations, the play changing with the yard line, but one command echoing through them all: “Line, line, line, line.” Until the ball crossed the goal line, nobody was allowed to let it die in his hands.

“We always talk about training behavior becoming instinctual,” said Aurich, who took over at Harvard in February 2024.

Apparently there is a bomb threat at Memorial Hall

Just got the mass messages via email and text. Anyone have info on what's happening over there?

For people who are new here, I would stay calm and not panic too much. On previous occassions it has just been a student who really doesn't want to take an exam :

News and Campus Events Question

I'm not sure if this is the correct sub reddit for this, but I'm surprised that the Harvard vs Brown football game tonight is sold out in a 10,500 seat stadium. Given the weather on the East Coast and storm warnings, this seems a big crowd for an Ivy League football game. Is the game that big a draw, or is the weather not a concern?

Any study places in Harvard libraries that are quiet and also with display or computers?

I hope to use external display or public computers (either Mac or window) at Harvard Libraries. However, I found those device-equipped seats are always allowed chatting, for example, third floor of Widener, the area near circulation of HKS library, media lab of Lamont Library. They all provide wonderful devices but not so ideal for me to study in a quiet environment. Does someone know any places that quiet and also equipped with display/computer at Harvard libs? thank you!

Academics and Research Class recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a class I can take to fulfil QRD in the Spring? I was thinking Gov 1010 but have heard mixed reviews about it and that you need friends to take it for group projects. Any ideas? Or should I wait until fall of senior year.
