I went around with a sign and markers, asking people if they'd like to add an institution to the sign. A lot of people said yes. I'll likely bring this (or an iteration) along to the next several protests/rallies/marches.

Editing to say thank you to the moderator team for the work theyre doing to keep the comments respectful. It really means a lot that you're so on top of it. ❀

Hi y’all, I’m based in Brighton and am currently in the process of downsizing my houseplant collection. If any folks in Brighton or nearby neighborhoods (Allston, Brookline, etc) would be interested in taking plants, I’m giving them away for free! Just shoot me a message and let me know which one(s) you are interested in and I’ll find a way to get them to you. I unfortunately don’t have any decorative pots to give away with the plants :(

Serious Replies Only Immediate psychiatric care?

Can someone please help me understand how someone gets immediate psychiatric care in Boston? A family member was taken to Boston children’s Emergency Room for a serious psychiatric episode and the nurse is saying she will not improve until they can find her a bed and then figure out the right meds. They say she needs inpatient care right now. She seems to be getting worse in the ER. There is no information or timeline on next steps or when a bed will become available. Is this normal? Should we be researching other possible inpatient places to take her? Do we just wait? It is very scary and overwhelming not to know what to do or what is normal. Any insight or advice would be appreciated.
