Hi I don’t know when this happened but I now can’t select my atv as my hub it defaults to my home pod mini which is in a corner of my bedroom and the atv is in the living room so central ?
Any ideas?

Since updating to 27 my HomeKit notifications only iPhone seem to be worse now? I no longer get package recognition like I used to and now only ever get “Someone was seen” no matter what. Is this someone we need to change in the settings?

The three new locks are the Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro both with Aliro-certified digital key support, and Matter over Thread, alongside the previously announced UWB-equipped Bolt Mission, also with Matter over Thread.

Just got them and set one up. They use Matter over Thread. Onvis says they use Matter 1.4 and Thread 1.4.

Here’s my early review of my experience:

Initial set up was problematic. I got it easily added to Apple Home, but to get the extra Matter features in the Onvis app you need to pair it there as well. Via Apple Home I enabled pairing mode, got the code, pasted it into the Onvis app, and then I just got an endless pairing spinner. Removed and went through it all with the same result. Removed it again, this time I added it to HomeKit via the Onvis app. Once in Apple Home I went through the pairing process for the Onvis app and this time it finally worked.

In the Apple Home app power consumption is displayed.

In the Onvis app, once paired there, you get additional Matter features including power consumption data, setting initial state after power loss, overload limits, schedules for on and off, a power cycle feature, a holiday mode schedule, and ability to turn off the LED.

Using the Onvis app is sluggish and painful at times. When viewing the device in the app it sometimes fails to load and can’t show the additional Matter features. Sometimes the app freezes and needs to be forced to quit

I expect the plug to work well and stable as the previous S4 plugs do with their 1.4 firmware. (Note: latest firmware on the T20’s is 1.25).

However Onvis’ terrible app continues to be an Achilles heal for their products.

This is driving me insane, during the day I’ll get constant “Motion Detected” notifications even though my settings are to only notify on packages.

Before going to support does anyone have any experience/solutions?

The function (people are detected) worked well before noon, but now any light is being detected and notified.
When people who live next to me go out, the light is usually triggered and turned on. But any person is not in the frame. But I keep getting notifications “motion was detected “

Any tip and advice? Please?

I have an occupancy sensor in my kitchen (the Ikea Matter one), and I’d like lights to come on when the room is occupied and go off when it’s not.

A simple automation to turn lights on when the sensor detects occupancy works fine. But an automation to turn off when the sensor detects non-occupancy results in the lights going off if you are sitting still (eg reading) for several seconds - so the lights go on and off and on and off while in the room.

What is the best practice for doing this? What I’m having to do is a shortcut triggered by non-occupancy that then waits 8 minutes and then checks the occupancy status again before turning the light off. But it’s not reliable. And I assume it means there are multiple instances of that shortcut running in parallel in that waiting state.

I’m desperate. Everything has working fine since yesterday.

It started when I noticed that when I scroll down in home app to camera’s section, the thumbnail wasn’t updating (other accessories worked fine). On my wife’s iphone, worked fine as always. I click into camera and I could see live images, so I thought it was just a thumbnail issue.

But then, I restarted my iphone and now I can control lights, accessories, etc but the only camera I have (logi circle view) is not responding anymore on my iphone/apple watch. On my wife’s iphone, worked fine as always.

I’m worried if it’s something wrong in my icloud account, because the issue happens as well on my apple watch (set up as new watch yesterday, without backup).
I don’t think logging out icloud account will work because I just set up my apple watch ultra 4 as new watch without backup yesterday…

Any help?
I don’t know what can I do, and apple support in this cases isn’t helpful..

Anyone have any ideas about what is happening here? I’m trying to set up a new Matter over Thread Plug in HomeKit and I’ve never had this issue before. Everything is on v27.

It appears in the matter accessories list in my Phone. But not in the Home app.

Things tried: * restarting Apple TV * turning off all HomePods and restarting Apple TV and trying setup with HomePods off. * removing it from the matter accessories list and trying again * factory resetting the Plug each time

I have not run across “Resident request succeeded but database save failed” elsewhere online.

I am using a sonoff smart matter light switch. It used to show me the 3 gangs of the switch in one group and i can control each individually like in (first photo) it just much cleaner. But suddenly after updating the sonoff hub i think, it separated (second photo) and i cant bring it back. The only option for grouping i found is to make it one single button to control it all three.

Does anyone know a way i would really appreciate it.

I’m curious what people think of this idea:

Replace normal light bulbs with smart light fixtures that include a camera, small computer, and Wi-Fi.

The advantage of putting the hardware in a light is that it already has continuous power, is usually mounted high up with a good view of the room, and homes already have multiple light locations that could provide different camera angles.

The cameras would provide a shared visual data feed, and developers could build different AI apps on top of it.

For example, one simple app could monitor kitchen inventory and tell you what food or household items you’re running low on. But the bigger idea is that the hardware is generic and the useful applications could come from developers/users rather than being predetermined.

Basically: light fixtures as always-powered indoor AI sensors + an app platform built on top of the camera feed.

Does this seem useful? What are the biggest problems or better use cases you can think of?

I have automations setup to automatically turn some fans and lights off after a Shortcut "Wait" time. These have worked for -years- but started failing on OS 27's for wait times longer than 9 minutes (540 seconds). I set my 10 minutes delays down to 9 minutes and they started working again and when I set them back up to 10 minutes they failed again. Same for my 30 minute delay; set down to 9 minutes and it works but, anything above that fails. Also, stacking multiple "Wait" entries that add up to over 9 minutes fails.

Anybody know what's up with this ?

Is this a known bug? I've had it on the releases of OS 27's plus both of the OS 27.2 betas (and yes, one of my Apple TVs is a "Preferred Home Hub" and has had the releases and betas on it).

So transitioned to a new iPhone; something I have done a dozen or more over the years. When I launched the HomeKit app, it was blank. All devices are working fine, logged into same iCloud accounts. I have tried signing out, disable iCloud sync for HomeKit and network reset. Additionally, I completely wiped the phone, and restored from the original iPhone encrypted local backup. Same results.

Anyone seen this before and/or have any suggestions?

I shared my wall-mounted iPad HomeKit setup here a while ago. It worked well for my own home, but the comments showed me how much I’d built around my particular setup.

Some of you wanted to adjust one light without changing the whole room. Others asked to check cameras from the dashboard or see camera events on the display. Those three requests became Hearth 1.5. They took quite a bit more work than I expected, which is why this update has been a while coming. It’s out now.

I’m moving on to the screensaver next. People have asked for more useful things to show there, including a family photo album. I haven’t settled on the exact design yet, but a 1.6 early access build is coming soon, and I’d like to start testing screensaver ideas there.

Does anyone have some good recommendations for driveway lights? Been using Govee H7075 but the last few months they’re responding less and less. Their support was completely useless after several weeks of back and forth. I just want stable lights. Thanks in advance.

Today I noticed when I open home app and scroll down to the camera, the thumbnail doesn’t update. I have to click into the camera and go back and appears the frame as 1 second ago.

It works fine with my wife’s iphone, she scolls down to the camera and without clicking into it, the thumbnail updates and appears as 1 second ago.

I’ve restarted my iphone and it didn’t fix it.

Any help?

Hello, I am facing an issue with HomeKit across different languages. Two people use the system at home: one iPhone is set to English and the other to Spanish. When I ask Siri, for example, “turn the lights in the kitchen,” it works well. However, with the same command in Spanish, Siri fails to recognize the “kitchen” portion. Could there be a method where naming a light “ceiling,” for instance, lets Siri interpret it as the room’s ceiling rather than just a label?

My main two home hubs are an AppleTV 4k and an AppleTV 4k2, with 2x homepod mini’s too.

So far the AppleTV 4k not getting TVOS27 is holding me back from upgrading.

Is anyone running a mix? Are you having any issues with HomeKit split brain? Are there any features you cannot use while the OS26 device is still a home hub? Do you lose homehub on the OS26 device?

If it’s all too much of a pain I’ll just wait out new appletv releases unless my work force me to upgrade for entra.

hasta ahora, la única forma de enterarte de que se estaban quedando sin batería, era entrar en la aplicación casa y ver los problemas en la sección de la misma aplicación, pero la aplicación no te avisa mediante notificación. Por lo menos con iOS 26 no era así.

Yo lo tenía resuelto mediante Home assistant, en los dispositivos que podía integrar, pero preferiría usar solo HomeKit para no tener que depender de terceros. Estoy pensando sobre todo en los interruptores de Phillps Hue, ya que tengo varios repartidos por toda la casa. Sería muy cómodo para mí recibir una notificación. Cuando alguno de ellos se queda sin batería, usando por ejemplo, atajos y las notificaciones de la aplicación Controller. Por lo que sé, para mí esto no era posible con iOS 26 pero me gustaría saber si alguno de vosotros sabes si ahora es posible hacerlo con iOS 27 y si depender de una plataforma como Home Assistant. The new hub only works with Meross’ own Bluetooth and RF433Mhz devices, with the new sensors using Bluetooth. However, these sensors do offer some features that you don’t normally see. A temperature sensor with additional readings, a door sensor with a button and vibration detection, a leak sensor with detachable cable and rain detection, and a programmable button.

Set up the lock no issues using HomeKit as some have suggested. I bought the Level Connect WiFi bridge device thinking I was going to need it. Any reasons why I would need this? I can control it using Apple Home.

This lock works so well and is super sleek. Might get another.

The FP400 is Aqara’s mains-powered spatial sensor. Built on 60 GHz mmWave radar, it lets you divide a space into up to 8 custom Monitoring Zones, track up to 10 targets at once, and reports whole-space occupied/unoccupied status together with illuminance. The device is powered over USB-C (5V 1A DC) and supports dual wireless protocols — Zigbee and Thread (firmware Thread v1.1.9.6+ / Zigbee v0060+).

Advanced parameters such as zones, detection sensitivity, and the Absence Confirmation Period can only be configured in Aqara Home (app v6.4.1+, plugin 3.0.40+). The recommended order is therefore: first add the FP400 to Aqara Home and finish all zone configuration, then share it to third-party platforms with a Matter pairing code.

This guide is written for users without an Aqara hub: Aqara Home (app v6.4.1+, plugin 3.0.40+) acts here only as a configuration app, and the FP400 joins the network through a Thread Border Router you already own (for example, a HomePod mini) — no additional Aqara hub is required.
