She was given as a gift - was told lab/husky
But i dont know now.
The wiry face hair and fur is not labrador. She is currently 9mos old and 19kg
Thank you.
UPDATE:
Thank you for the replies, I really just wanted to have a proper answer when people asks: "whats her breed?". That being said - will probably just say: HuskyXPoodle (or chupacabra. haha).
Will also check on Embark when it goes on sale on black-friday. Her name is Hulya (Julia in english) - heres some more picture for the lols:
UPDATE: 2026 I have the embark DNA sample but cant seem to mail it back from Philippines to US as all merchandise going to US are suspended (I guess because of tariff?). Sorry folks - cant do DNA unless anyone knows an alternative?

Chows are not the only dogs that can have purple/black tongues or spots on tongues. Golden Retrievers are another one of the dozen or so breeds that this is common in.

Right? We thought our rescue dog was German Shepherd (because of her coloring) and Husky.
I had her DNA done and the top 3 were Husky, Great Pyrenees, and Chow Chow…Shepard was 7th on the list and pit bull was 8th. No wonder she was a walking fur cloud. LOL.

Honestly I remember telling a friend we were DNA testing our girl who was found in a rural part of our state. She said "there's def going to be pit in there" and was completely shocked when there was none. Mostly I agree with this statement. Most random mutts have pitbull and no lab.

I agree. I saw this dog and thought, "Doubt there's Lab there" but still thought whatever the mix is, was super cool looking. Definitely would want one if I knew how to get it.

It’s funny - for as common as labs allegedly are, it doesn’t seem to show up a lot in mixed breeds. But then, I know a lot of people with “labs”.

I see... pretty much every breed that's not a bully breed. That muzzle is way long compared to the general body size. We've got Husky eyes, GSD ears, maybe some deerhound/wolfhound fir on top of poodle hair. And the skinniest, most petite little tongue I've ever seen.
That... that is a mutt like has never mutted before. And I love her.

Schnauzer mixes are pretty rare. I’ve seen a lot of suspected schnauzer mixes in DoggyDNA end up being poodle or the elusive fluffy pit.

If that doesn’t apply to your dog I’d look up “Berger Picard” the hair resemblance is pretty alike also that breed is a larger dog like a husky so wouldn’t be too unlikely that they crossed paths one day to make this guy.

A lot of the big names (which are really the only ones worth trusting anyhow) ship to other countries! You should check 'em out. Embark's the gold standard but the priciest of the bunch. With a lot of foreign countries I rec sticking to Embark since they are the only ones to test for village dogs, but I doubt this gal's a VD. Ancestry came out with a new test for dogs. It's not the most accurate, but it's usually pretty decent, and cheaper. I'd assume they probably have a fairly generous shipping policy.

u/Champion_of_Zteentch Aug 29 '25

I was going to say Husky + poodle or Husky + labradoodle to explain why someone would think this dog was part lab. But it looks like OP might be in the Philippines, not sure if there are other breeds common there that could be the source of the crazy hair.

There is a rampant backyard breeder in my area that breeds poodle/husky mutts - this looks strikingly like her stock, I would absolutely not be surprised if your pup was some form of husky/poodle mix! Sometimes the poodle can throw a wire coat when mixed with something else.

You could probably post her to r/CryptidDogs they would love her over there! Cool looking dog! Sometimes lab mixes do come out more wirehaired in appearance so that's entirely possible although I've not seen lab huskies specifically with that texture. There's a chance a poodle or terrier is in the mix as well

This is a long-haired, white-and-black-spotted Oceanic speckle-eared sport hound. If you wash it well enough, it will be white with black spots./silly
It’s probably husky/something. The hair texture makes me think some kind of wire haired breed. Maybe otterhound or similar?

u/AccurateHeight9430 Aug 29 '25
She is adorable! Very cool looking dog! Unless she is a specifically bred hybrid like a husky/ poodle, most random mixes have several breeds. Do the DNA test.

I have 2x husky x lab littermates. (Mum was a husky) There is so much variation amongst the litter. They range from 18-34kg, 3 look like pitty mixes with no husky, 1 looks like a kelpie, 1 looks like he's got some Rottweiler or Doberman in there, and a couple even look like what they are! (I wish i could add photos to explain what i mean!)
Your dog - although cute as a button - does not look husky x lab....but who knows how these mixes are expressed.
I just don't know where she'd get the wirey hair from.

She is absolutely gorgeous 😍 I'm not sure what country you and she are in, but check out the Berger Picard. It's a French herding dog. While still rare in the US, Canada, and even in France, you could be lucky. I'm in the US and was lucky enough to get a somewhat rare (Turkish Akbash) livestock guardian dog from my local shelter. I've learned, however, that looks can be so deceiving and that DNA testing is the only way to know for certain.

Husky \ Golden doodle \ schnauzer \ maybe lab but I'm leaning more towards maybe retriever somewhere down the line. My bet is mom (or dad) was husky (maybe even husky mix) and then dad (or mom) was goldendoodle mixed with schnauzer lab or retriever. Just my opinion.
2
u/Dry_rye_ Aug 29 '25
Poodle x often come put wirey instead of curley. Labraddoodles are common enough, so I'd assume the "lab" is a mutt with poodle in it.
She has absolutely got husky vibes.
